Sanzen-in Temple, Kyoto | Experience the beauty of kimonos in a Japanese garden

⛰[Attraction Guide] Sanzen-in Temple 📍Address: 540 Ohara Raikoin-cho, Sakyo-ku, Kyoto, Japan 🚗Transportation: Take Kyoto Bus No. 17 or 19 to Ohara, then walk for 10 minutes 🕙Opening hours: 9:00–17:00 💰Admission: JPY 700 🌟Attraction features: Sanzen-in Temple is a Tendai Buddhist temple located in Sakyo-ku, Kyoto, Japan. It was founded in 1118. Sanzen-in Temple has a unique Japanese garden, which is beautiful in any season. There are three red bridges on the mountain, which are especially eye-catching in summer when surrounded by lush green trees. It's a great place to take photos! 👘👘Highlights: Wearing a kimono in Kyoto is a must. To take better photos with Japanese architecture, we had to try it! We chose a shop near Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine. There are many kimono rental shops in the area, and the prices are generally cheaper than those near Kiyomizu-dera Temple. We chose Kirari Kimono Shop, which is highly recommended online for its cost-effectiveness. It only costs JPY 3,000! 📌Tips: 1️⃣ You can make a reservation on the Kirari Kimono Shop website or go directly to the store. 2️⃣ Regular kimonos cost JPY 3,000, and furisode kimonos cost JPY 7,000. Students can get a JPY 500 discount. Regular kimonos account for 90% of the stock, and furisode kimonos account for 10%. There aren't many options, but the prices are great. We chose regular kimonos. The shop also has trendy lace kimonos. After choosing a kimono, a staff member will help you put it on and do your hair. The whole process takes about an hour. 3️⃣ The shop doesn't provide makeup services, so we recommend doing your makeup before you go. 4️⃣ We recommend bringing your own shoes. Geta sandals are very uncomfortable and difficult to walk in. You can change into them when you take photos. 5️⃣ The high steps at the main gate of Gotenmon Gate are a must-see for visitors to Sanzen-in Temple! You can have a cup of tea in Shuheki-en Garden while enjoying the view. It's also a great place to take photos in a kimono. 6️⃣ Walk to the top of the mountain to see the famous red bridges. There are three bridges. The second bridge is the most beautiful when viewed from the bottom. You can stand on the second bridge in a kimono and take photos from below. The kimono will make your photos even more beautiful.📷
