Ticket information - Peak season (May 1 to October 31): Line 1 CNY 200/person, Line 2 CNY 100/person. - Off-peak season (November 1 to April 30 of the following year): Half-price tickets CNY 100/person. Tickets are free during the Tibet Winter Tour. Booking method - You need to book in advance on the "Potala Palace Official Platform" or the "Potala Palace Ticket Booking System" WeChat mini program. During the peak season, tickets are released 10 days in advance at 8:30 am every day; during the off-peak season, tickets are released at least 3 days in advance. Seniors over 60 years old can make an on-site reservation for the next day. - Each WeChat account can only book 1 adult ticket, and one adult can link 2 seniors or minors. Payment must be made within 15 minutes of a successful booking. Opening hours - Peak season: 8:30–18:00. - Off-peak season: 9:30–17:00. Visiting process - Bring your ID card and reservation code to enter from the south gate of the Potala Palace after security check, and visit the Snow City first. - Swipe your ID card at the ticket inspection point of the Stele without Words, and enter the palace in a zigzag pattern. - After visiting the interior of the palace, go down the mountain from the back mountain. Notes - You need to follow the taboos of Tibetan Buddhism, such as not wearing hats, taking photos, stepping on thresholds, pointing at Buddha statues, touching cultural relics and murals, etc. - Dress appropriately, do not wear skirts or overly revealing clothes, and it is recommended to wear flat shoes. - There are no toilets in the White Palace and the Red Palace, so you need to go to the toilet before entering. - The visit is limited to 1 hour, so you need to plan your time reasonably.
