It was later destroyed again for various reasons, and the current version is the 2018 rebuilt version. 🎈Its location is remote, although not far from Pujiang city, the transportation is not very convenient, so it is suitable for self-driving. It is located in a mountain valley, surrounded by mountains on three sides, with the appearance of an ancient temple hidden in the deep mountains. 🎈The layout of the temple is very neat, with the Hall of Heavenly Kings and the Bell and Drum Tower below (just renovated, open for normal visits, but the soil in front of the hall is not yet leveled), and the Mahavira Hall above, which enshrines the horizontal Three Buddhas, with Mahakasyapa and Ananda in front of the Sakyamuni statue, and the Eighteen Arhats on both sides. Behind the Three Buddhas is Avalokitesvara, followed by the Golden Boy and Jade Girl on the left and right, constructed by Dongyang wood carving, with Samantabhadra and Manjusri on the left and right sides in front. 🎈On the left side of the Mahavira Hall are the Five Views Hall, the God of Wealth Hall, and some meditation rooms. On the right side is the Patriarch Hall, and some rooms are not yet renovated. Further back should be the Sutra Library area, which feels very ancient, but due to the closure and renovation, I have not seen its true appearance. 🎈The temple is full of pines and cypresses, interspersed with various maple trees, which look very beautiful, and there are also black bamboos and (tortoise shell) dragon scale bamboos planted in the temple, which have a unique flavor. 🎈Unlike the atypical Longtan Ancient Temple, Youyan Zen Temple is a very typical temple, although the style is slightly different, but both are worth visiting.
