๐Ÿ‡ฐ๐Ÿ‡ท A Touching History Behind the Greenery HYOCHANG PARK in Seoul

Hyochang Park located in Seoul, South Korea was originally the Joseon royal tombs of Crown Prince Munhyo and his mother Royal Noble Consort Uibin Seong, who were King Jeongjoโ€™son and concubine, respectively. Lady Seong was the most beloved consort of King Jeongjo amongst his all wives. She lost her son the crown prince at his very young age, and she was in the deepest sorrow. Actually, they couldnโ€™t be buried in the same area because of the difference in status, this is, Crown Prince Munhyo would be the future king but his mother was just a concubine, not the queen. Because of the deepest love to Lady Seong regardless of traditional court rules, King Jeongjo commanded to build their tomb next to each other in the park, and enshrined their spiritual tablet in the same shrine. He desired his son and his sonโ€™s mother whom he loved the most to stay together in peace and protect each other. King Jeongjo also planted tens of thousands of trees in the graveyard.. I was very touched by this. However, during Japanese occupation, the tombs were moved separately to another tomb in order to build a park where has been till now, and this was so sad because it is a parting of mother and child. Hyochang Park is now a serene urban oasis. The park's lush greenery, historical monuments, and peaceful ambiance offer a perfect escape from city life. Highlights include the beautiful Hyochang Shrine and a poignant memorial to Korean independence activists. A must-visit for nature lovers and history enthusiasts alike. If you want to visit Hyochang Park, you can take the metro to Hyochang Park and walk a little bit, so it's easy. #seoul #southkorea #korea #joseon #koreatrip
