Shaxian Inn, Mountain Sparrow Inn|||We stayed at Mountain Sparrow Inn in Dongmen Ancient Street, Shaxian, on the recommendation of a friend. Before we even arrived in Shaxian, the lovely lady at the front desk of Mountain Sparrow called to ask about parking and other matters, and added me on WeChat. So thoughtful. Friends from out of town can park their cars in the playground behind the inn, which is very convenient and free. Mountain Sparrow Inn is located in the center of Dongmen Ancient Street, Shaxian. The entrance is right on Dongmen Ancient Street, which has become a must-see for tourists from out of town. The ancient street has everything you could want to eat, play, and photograph. The inn is about 100 meters across the street from the Shaxi River, where you can enjoy the ever-changing light show and water curtain movie at night. From the inn, walk about 300 meters along Binhe Road to the city center of Shaxian, where many famous traditional Shaxian snacks are located near Chiwei Lane, such as Liji Snacks. The snack stalls in Chiwei Lane offer dozens of unique and authentic Shaxian snacks such as shumai, taro dumplings, dried tofu, and rice jelly, which you can enjoy to your heart's content. In the afternoon, we walked to Qu Lane No. 1 Teahouse for afternoon tea; in the evening, we went to Half Acre of Flower Field for Western food; at dusk, we walked to the other side of the river and walked the plank road and glass plank road, where we could see the beautiful Shaxi River and the beautiful night view of Shaxi. Mountain Sparrow Inn is a renovation of two large ancient houses that are decades old, with a perfect blend of classical and modern styles. The rooms have modern smart bathrooms, which are really nice to use. The rooms are very spacious and not at all oppressive. Mountain Sparrow also prepared afternoon tea and fresh fruit for us; breakfast was also very rich, with eggs, sweet potato porridge, soy milk, fruit, etc. The short two-day trip to Shaxian went by in a flash.
