Bandier Blue Lake

Bandier Blue Lake on the Pamir Plateau is located in Kashgar Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, China. It is a beautiful lake in Tashkurgan Tajik Autonomous County. According to reports, it is one of the few remaining well-preserved glacial moraine lake belts in China. Kashgar Bandier Blue Lake is a high mountain lake, mainly formed due to glacial action. The lake water is deep blue, crystal clear, and surrounded by steep peaks and snow-covered ridges, creating a fairyland-like scene. Bandier Blue Lake is about 50 kilometers away from Tashkurgan County. From the county, one can travel west along the Panlong Ancient Road, passing through the scenic spot where the song 'Why Are Flowers So Red' was filmed, and then follow the road to Kashgar or Tashkurgan County, circling the lake. Another route is to travel in the opposite direction. According to road signs, from Bandier Blue Lake, one can take the county road directly to Shache County, but navigation does not recommend this route due to potential mudslides or falling rocks. ⏳Visiting Time: Free admission, visiting time is 20-30 minutes.
