Meiji Shrine

Meiji Shrine is one of the most peaceful places I’ve ever visited. Walking through the giant torii gate felt like stepping into another world—it’s surrounded by a lush forest, and you completely forget that you’re in Tokyo! The atmosphere is so serene, with the sound of leaves rustling and birds chirping. The path to the shrine is lined with barrels of sake and wine, which was really cool to see. When I reached the main shrine, I did the traditional cleansing ritual and wrote a wish on an ema (wooden plaque). I even got to see a traditional Japanese wedding, which was so beautiful! It’s a must-visit if you love history, culture, or just want a quiet moment in the middle of Tokyo. Afterward, I explored nearby Takeshita Street for some fun shopping—it’s the perfect balance of old and new Tokyo!
