In southern Anhui, I found a hidden paradise

Pingshan Village was established in the late Tang Dynasty, with a history of over 1100 years. It is named after a high mountain to the north of the village that resembles a screen. Pingshan is also an outstanding representative of the architectural culture of the Huizhou region during the Ming and Qing Dynasties, preserving over 300 ancestral halls and water gardens, with notable examples including Shuqingyu Hall, Guangyu Hall, the Imperial Guard Hall, and the Sanguma Temple. Jiyang Creek, one of the sources of the Xin'an River, flows through the village, creating a picturesque scene typical of the Jiangnan water towns, with its flowing water and ten bridges over three miles. Location: Pingshan Village, Qian County (4A) Tickets: Free entry throughout 2024 Transportation: The Hongcun-Xidi Route 10 bus passes through Pingshan every half hour; if you take a taxi, the return trip is very inconvenient, with almost no response. Nearby attractions: Hongcun, Xidi, Nanping, Shouzhuo Garden, Guanlu, Biyuan Bookstore, etc. Pingshan Village is only 3 kilometers from the county seat of Qian County and not far from other ancient villages, making it convenient to tour around the county.
