Review: Hilton Nath I recently stayed at the Hilton Nath and had an exceptional experience. From the moment I walked in, the staff was welcoming and attentive, ensuring a smooth check-in process. We booked directly, in January, with the hotel taking up an offer for our March stay. This is a 5 star hotel and we upgraded our room a few days before arrival. The room was lovely with a comfortable 4 poster bed and all facilities as expected. Breakfast was not as we had expected for a 5 star hotel. We had to choose a time to eat, did the earlier people have all the yoghurt? By the time (8.45) we arrived we were scraping the bottom of the deep jar and our cooked breakfast was a meagre portion. The potato cake was very thin, like cardboard, a single thin rasher of bacon and a slice of mushroom. Thank goodness I asked for a grilled tomato! We had to ask for toast that 1st morning. The coffee pot was barely enough for one, we had to ask for more! We had booked to eat in the Vellore Restaurant for my birthday but decided to cancel this, as seemed expensive and breakfast had put us off! So we chose to eat from the bar menu instead, taking the meal in the lounge. Unfortunately the room was pretty cold, we heard other guests complaining about this. Guests can ask for fresh milk to go with the complimentary tea and coffee, but be aware a tiny jug of milk is £6. However the staff were friendly and extremely helpful and the hotel is well situated for the town.

We got a family room, the fold out bed was not made and the quilt was dirty/stained. The staff changed the room for us and this time is was Ok. Cutlery at breakfast had to be wiped down before use. Staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel itself was close to the Centre

Fantastic location, great hotel with friendly helpful staff. Room was clean and tidy with a beautiful view. Breakfast was one of the best hotel breakfasts we’ve had in a long time, lovely bright restaurant with really friendly staff. We will absolutely be back.

I stayed at the Apex City of Bath Hotel with three other people in a room with two queen beds. The room was big, comfortable, and had a window, which was nice. The hotel is a little far from the train station, about a 10-minute walk, but it’s an easy walk to the city center, which takes around 5-7 minutes. The price was good, especially since I got a discount on Trip.com after booking train tickets. Compared to the Apex City of London, this hotel felt a bit less fancy. The London hotel had more special things for birthdays, like free extras. We didn’t try the hotel’s breakfast, but there are many good places for breakfast nearby. Overall, the stay was nice. If you don’t mind walking a bit, it’s a good choice. Next time, I might stay in a hotel more in the center of town.

Had high expectations of my stay and it was completely fulfilled and I was impressed. Overall welcome and ambience was just right being professional and sincere. Our bed room, junior suite after upgrading with extra fee, was reasonably sized although the bathroom with the layout of the door made it difficult and slightly dangerous to enter / close behind guest. The spa village was busy but understandable; it felt clean and very updated overall so there was less of a concern on hygiene which is understood can be difficult to maintain standards. The breakfast room, choices and service was fine as expected so it’s worth signing up for. Although by day 2, it was hard fo imagine having another breakfast so possibly having breakfast for one day as an option would be good. Would have liked to have body lotion in bathroom as I had to rely on the one available in the spa village… and with 2 nights stay, toiletries were not replenished … Always a nice welcome when soft drinks / mini bar is complimentary ; although it doesn’t cost a lot to fill a fridge but small gestures like these make guests feel more welcomed Thanks for a great stay; would like to take my 80 year old mum here sometime in future as she would enjoy it tremendously !!

This hotel is in a beautiful building that was originally a house. It's sits on top of a very steep hill and therefore has excellent views of the city below. The incline is a difficult walk but there is a bus that drops ypu right outside from the city centre (number 31) . Recommend this option after a day of walking ! It's about a 10-15 min walk straight down the hill into the city,along a busy raod . However, the hotel is quite close to the Royal Crescent. I recommend walking that way into town as there is less traffic and a wonderful park (Royal victoria park) that leads straight into the heart of Bath centre. The park also has a botanical gardens should you want to visit plus an excellent play park for children. Landsdown Grove is a good option if you enjoy being close to the attractions in Bath but with a bit more peaceful surroundings. The hotel sits in its own gardens but when we were there , there was a lot of building work going on. I understand this must be done to maintain the building but the gardens were littered with workmans equipment, parts taped off and drilling ,banging and loud talking from very early in the morning. Workmen were also at room windows, making it slightly uncomfortable. Not sure why unoccupied rooms can't be done first or even later in the day when people are out. We booked a patio room. The doors opened out onto a little garden with table and chairs. The patio was shared with 2 other rooms which was fine as it was spacious. The rooms can be accessed via the grounds instead of walking through the hotel. However , this seems to be a gathering place for staff on breaks . This didn't bother me as such but when the builders were gathering there at 7 in the morning, talking loudly etc, it was off putting to sit out and enjoy a coffee. This wasn't very relaxing. At night though , it was quiet and even manged to see a friendly fox that visited each evening :) The room itself was accessed inside through a maze of corridors and steps. Wouldn't be suitable for anyone with mobility issues or prams. The room was clean , can't fault that. People have commented that the hotel is dated. It's an old building and it's huge. It's is dated in parts but that's to be expected. The issue I had was more that the cleaners items (hoovers , cages of laundry ,cleaning trolley) were littering the hallways and the builders tools littering outside in the grounds ,making it dangerous at times to navigate . The grounds also seemed neglected which is a pity. Our room was cold , even when I turned the heat up. It had tea and coffee making facilities and a mini fridge. Bathroom was nice with plenty of towels and hot water. The room decor was bright. Not a lot of space to move around though. Staff were friendly and helpful and aside from the manager (?) In the restaurant ,were knowledgeable about customer care. Restaurant itself was a huge let down. Breakfast was ordered from a menu , which I like because it's usually hotter. However, both m

I slept one night (25-26 November 2023), alongside with two friends. The location is perfect. The dormitories were fine, the temperature was perfect and the beds were clean and comfortable. However, the windows really need to be replaced, because they are way too thin, resulting in poor noise insulation. While I was trying to sleep, the dormitory was quiet, but I could not sleep well because of the noise coming from street (especially drunk people shouting loudly), which was as strong as if a window was wide open. The bathroom was perfect with showers, toilets and taps. It's the perfect deal if you want to visit Bath for one night or two, acknowledging that you will stay in the hostel only to sleep. I would also advise the hostel to tell its customers on the booking description that they bring a padlock with them to lock the storage cages located under the beds. Because on their own description they just say that they sell padlocks, but don't explain why. I always have one in my backpack, so I could lock my stuff, but it was not the case of my two friends, who therefore took their backpack in town with them.

Loved the sea air so much me and my partner wanted to stay another night and it was extremely simple to book another room after checking out! Reception staff also helped in giving us the best deal.

Can not fault this b&b for the price well mannered owners/staff always happy to help rooms clean and tidy and bed very comfortable 1st night sleep where I’ve slept for over 8hours without waking up and I’m a light sleeper didn’t ever hear them in morning cleaning other rooms ready for next guest would defo recommend 😷

This was our 4th visit/break here in the last 12 months. This was the first fri-mon stay(3 night) as we would normally opt for the 4 night mon-fri. However this was their first West End break and we were not disappointed (unless you ask if we had wished it was longer). We, as always, booked club rooms. This gives a better quality room, early check-in, bottle of wine, tea, coffee and milk etc, and a newspaper each day. Having said that we have met others who regularly use the standard rooms and have never heard any complaints. The entertainment, as always, was first class, and plentiful. There was daytime entertainment, quizzes, games etc and karaoke during our stay. In addition there is a chip and putt course... although there are no ”greens” , which often adds to the fun(or pain). There is a crazy golf course and an area for boules. Indoors there is a pool table, snooker room with ”free light” and a couple of table tennis tables. The swimming pool hasn't reopened yet but it is not far off being completed. The bar, cafe and reception staff are extremely helpful and always have a smile and greeting for us. The bluecoats work hard to keep us all entertained. Finally a word about the guests. Yes, the majority of guests are boomers, so if you don't like words and phrases like ”after you”, ”please”, ”thank you”, or don't like the door being held open for you (whether male or female), maybe this place isn't for you. The guests here are polite and cheerful, just the way we like it

We stayed here as a family for two nights at the beginning of November. We had a lovely stay and can’t wait to return which we are hoping to in May next year. The owner Scott couldn’t do enough to help us. While me and my husband went to move the car Scott helped our daughter to carry the bags etc up to our room. He gave us directions to the Playhouse as we were watching a show there on the one evening. The breakfast,what more can I say there was everything there that you could won’t. Jars of fresh fruit,yogurt,cereal,orange juice. Toast is made fresh and so is the cooked breakfast. So you have to be prepared to wait(which wasn’t long) and you can tell that it is all fresh 😋😋. There are even sweets and mints in dishes when you come into the reception area. The stay was well worth the money and feel that nothing more could be done to improve our stay. From arrival to departure, the staff at South Sands were absolutely lovely. Nothing was too much effort for them. I can honestly say they appeared to appreciate us being there. From keeping bar services available beyond the advertised time to ensuring no one was left waiting. Highly recommend this hotel. There are areas that would benefit from a bit of an uplift, which prevents a higher star rating. However, this is totally understandable since most reasonably priced hotels appear to be battling to survive at the moment.

The hotel staff are friendly and accommodating, the room is clean, when I asked for chamomile tea he asked me to get it from reception and he gave me a few, I was very grateful . Breakfast is not that great, no tomato, mushroom or hash browns to compliment the saltiness of bacon. No cold water around but still good . The location is easy to find but a bit far from the town centre, I was expecting a nearer than that.

Room was clean apart from bins being emptied. Shower gel was empty. Other than that everything was spotless and the check in/out was smooth. Basic room and beds were comfy, we all slept well. They do not accommodate for larger families, which means you need two rooms for families larger that 4 people. I know this is common, but feel that hotels could try and accommodate bigger families to be together in the future.

Let me start off by stating that Meg and her team are fantastic. I stay here quite regularly for work. The staff are friendly and will go the extra mile to make your stay more welcoming . It has a kitchen where you can cater for yourself always clean and tidy The rooms are well cleaned by housekeeping she does an amazing job 100% worth the value for the money for me this is a 5* review wouldn't stay anywhere else when I come to Taunton

We made a last-minute booking and the hotel were so great in accommodating us. The reception was easy to find and we were greeted warmly by Erin. We had to make another booking the same night to accommodate another family-member and Erin was a great sport in giving us adjoining rooms and relocating us upstairs, including helping with all our suitcases and bags. The level of service here is akin only to what I've experienced in the Caribbean. A true care and warmth with a willingness to go above and beyond unasked. For this I give them an A+. The premise of community support and involvement is admirable and training up of youthful staff, grooming them in truly 5-star service standards is definitely welcomed! Other hotels would do to learn from them! In the morning of our departure, our things were whisked downstairs, again with a genuine joy in helping. We didn't get everyone's names, but our gratitude to Erin, Maisie, Alex and so many more who made difficult personal time for us into a comfortable, relaxing one. Loved the rotation of cookies daily and replenishment of assorted teas. My only advice would be for them to place non-skid bath mats in the shower trays and to install handrails, but otherwise, there is little to be faulted. We look forward to returning in the future!

I booked a deluxe double room for just one night. We were very happy with our room, which was spacious, clean and well appointed. The bed was very comfortable as were the pillows. The welcome from Reception was warm and friendly. There is parking at the hotel but this is run by NCP and costs just under £10 for a 24 hour stay. Payment is via an APP so I suggest installing that on your phone before you arrive. There is not the option to pay by cash or card at the machine. The hotel itself is very charming, with individually decorated bedrooms and a host of period features and furniture in the public rooms. We were meeting my son for dinner in a nearby restaurant for dinner so cannot comment on the Dining Room and we opted out of breakfast as we had an early lunch arranged. We did enjoy some cocktails in Brazz, where the service and quality of the drinks were appreciated.
