I'm very disappointed with my stay at this hotel. The amenities promised in my voucher such face towel, bathrobe, and slippers were missing from my room. When I asked reception, they said these are only given upon request and couldn’t provide a clear answer and said its housekeeping mistake. I ordered biryani on arrival which was greasy and below standard; despite informing management, no action was taken and I was still charged $12. The dirty plate and not collected the same day and this start smelling bad. Even worse, the limes in my drinks had mold on them. Attempts to speak with management failed they're never available and the reception just asks you to wait. Room service also delivered food with spilled condiments. This is unacceptable from a hotel of this caliber. Hoping for immediate improvement and response.

Simply fantastic. This hotel is spotless. Everything works. It is grand, quiet hotel. Service is superb. The breakfast was fabulous so was room service. Authentic Sri Lankan cuisine was of a superb presentation, quality & taste. Vatlappam was brilliant. I look forward to when I can return, spend more time and try out the restaurants. Keep it up guys!!

I recently stayed at the Ramada by Wyndham Colombo, and overall it was a wonderful experience. The room was extremely spacious, honestly one of the largest hotel rooms I have ever stayed in within Colombo. Everything was very clean and well maintained, and the amenities were excellent. The room included everything you might need—tea and coffee facilities, toiletries, toothbrushes, and more. The bed was very large and comfortable, and the TV, office table was huge as well. All the facilities such as the lights, air conditioning, and fan worked perfectly, so we had no issues at all. Our room was on the 8th floor (top floor) and we had a nice view overlooking the Galle Face Hotel with a small view of the ocean. The location of the hotel is also excellent since it is very close to Galle Face Green and many other attractions in Colombo, which makes it very convenient for travelers. The check-in process was smooth, and they welcomed us with a refreshing welcome drink. One thing to note is that the security procedure is quite strict. When we had guests visiting our room briefly, they had to provide their IDs and go through a security check. It was the first time I experienced this in a hotel, but it is understandable since it helps maintain safety. Although we booked bed and breakfast, we later asked if we could add the dinner buffet, but unfortunately it was already full. However, something very kind happened later that night. My mother wanted chicken congee, so we asked the room service staff if it was available. Even though it was not on the menu at that moment, they were kind enough to prepare and send us a bowl of chicken congee. It was a very thoughtful gesture, and we truly appreciated their kindness. The breakfast buffet was excellent with a very wide variety of food, and everything we tried was delicious. My family has always liked the buffets at Ramada, and this time was no different. They also had live cooking stations, and the staff there were very friendly and welcoming. Overall, everything about the stay was great. The room, service, location, and food were all excellent. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel. It is absolutely worth the price and offers great value for money.

My room smelled like sewage, a strong smell that literally made me sick on a daily. The staff tried to dampen the smell by throwing liquids down the drain, but once you use the taps, the smell is back again. Ive seen reviews about the smell, but thought it was temporary issue at the time it was written. The curtains are visibly dirty and in need of a simple wash. Other than that the room is spacious the aircon works well. The view is beautiful with the trains passing daily against the ocean waves. Big spoon restaurant is s few steps away serving massive portions- a must try. Tuktuks and taxi are also parked right infront of the hotel. Hopefully the sewage smell can be resolved soon...its a good hotel but that smell will never make me book it again.

We recently stayed at Galle Face Hotel, Colombo with my family. Overall, the hotel experience was good, especially the location and service. However, the rooms feel overly traditional and colonial, which does not fully meet modern-day requirements. The heavy wooden furniture and old-fashioned, posh décor may appeal to older patrons who appreciate classic heritage styles, but it may not suit travelers looking for a more contemporary stay. The electrical points and facilities are also quite outdated and not convenient for today’s laptop- and gadget-dependent travelers. I would suggest that the hotel consider modernizing some rooms and amenities, while still preserving a few heritage-style rooms for guests who prefer the traditional experiences.

Always a pleasure to stay at Taj Samudra. Great service and a fantastic Breakfast Buffet. Some of the pricing e.g Fresh Orange juice in the Lobby cafe was extortionate, maybe an oversight

I had an absolutely wonderful stay and felt truly taken care of from the moment I arrived until I left. Every request was handled with genuine care and professionalism, and the level of hospitality clearly shows that customer satisfaction comes first. A very special thank you to Mr Gajan from the Bell Service. He kindly accompanied me during check out and patiently waited with me for quite some time until my taxi arrived. His warmth, attentiveness and dedication made a lasting impression on me and truly represent outstanding service. The in room dining was also excellent and of very high quality. Unfortunately I caught a cold during my stay and could not explore everything, but I will definitely come back. A true five star experience. Highly recommended.

Our family of three checked into the hotel during the first week of May 2025. Unfortunately, our overall experience was underwhelming. Room service was disappointing, our order was incorrect, and we chose not to send it back as we assumed it would take a long time to receive the correct one. It also took three separate calls just to receive the room service menu. Additionally, we were charged for ice despite having an active room service food bill, which felt unreasonable. When we inquired about evening entertainment (Friday eve), the front desk assured us a live band would be performing, but this never happened. It appeared the resort seems to operate with minimal staff, which may explain the drop in service quality. On a positive note, we were warmly welcomed by a great host at check-in, and the barman at the pool bar made excellent cocktails and provided friendly service. Hopefully, this could be just a rare slip-up.

I stayed at this hotel for one night. It’s conveniently close to the airport, making it easy to reach in about 30 minutes. If you’re looking to enjoy a lagoon view, this is one of the best options. The breakfast was excellent, featuring both traditional and Western dishes. They also offer a late checkout option at an hourly rate of approximately $5 USD per hour.
