SStanley The Travel ManI arrived in pouring rain. I thought I could walk to my hotel but it was impossible in the downpour. I didn’t want to bother any hotel owner. I didn’t and still don’t have an eSIM that can make local call but thanks to Trip.com, there is a link that I could call the owner for free. I didn’t advise the owners my arrival time so they were off running errands. I called the owner to pick me up and thankfully he answered. He was busy but gracious enough to turn around and picked me up. It knew Zhouhuang requires a ticket but I didn’t know that no cars, nor motorcycles, nor bicycles are allowed. Without him I would have arrived the hotel easily.
I always like to meet the owners instead of employees . They were very helpful and answered all my questions. They are honest people who dedicate their blood and sweat to their business. The owner even offered to walk me to the bus stop to Suzhou which was my next destination.
This operates two hotels with 9 in one and 6 in the other. The one that I stayed in with 9 rooms is in a lively and busy area . Just outside the hotel is a restaurant and there are plenty of places to eat. Inside the hotel is a peaceful oasis where you won’t hear any noise. The location is the best. The other hotel is in a quieter neighborhood a few minutes away. Each of the 15 rooms has it’s own personality, is different and has its distinctive decoration. The owners said they decorated them themselves. I love the decoration and especially the lighting.
After you reserve a room, be sure to contact the owner for the exact address in case you want to arrive on your own. I think it is best to request the owner to take you there because he/she will lead you to the ticket booth to buy tickets. There are a number of bridges so heavy big luggages can be a bit of a challenge . If you arrive after 5 pm, you can enter free of charge as no one is there to check your ticket. . But once you are inside, and if you choose to leave the area after 8 or 9 am until 5 pm, you have to pay to come back in. You can buy a one day or in my case 3 days pass. Do check with the owner for up to date information.
The room was quite clean. There were hot water all the time. There were other guests during my stay but they were not noisy at all. I barely heard them. I slept very well during my 3 nights there.
Zhouhuang is really beautiful. There are many canals, bridges, boat rides, good food of all kinds. I had some of the best meals there. In fact , I ate in the same restaurant that serves dumpling twice. One night I had grill (BBQ) meat just outside the entrance for 4 yuans. . There is decent size supermarket just outside the turnstile and not too far away is a much bigger supermarket. It was there where I bought half a Peking duck for only 32 yuans . The seller sliced the meat and separated the meat from the bones. The bones he fried so it was crunchy. It was delicious. There is a theater that offers performances.
The night view is great. If you step out your room, you will be overwhelmed in a good sense by the exciting surroundings.
This hotel definitely is one of the best that I have ever stayed in. Look at the beautiful pictures and find one that you like.
I stayed only 3 nights and one of those days I went to Tongli. In my opinion, one should spend at least 2 to 3 full days in Zhouhuang (and especially this hotel ) savor the ambience. I don’t think Tongli is worth the time because it was twice as expensive and there are not that many canals and boat rides. It is much quieter and has fewer things to see. . The worst is that the sightseeing places require you to show your ticket. After 2 places, I lost mine ticket and I couldn’t get in the rest of the places. It is unnecessary to require proof of entrance because you can’t enter the area without a ticket.

DDe GiorgiThe guesthouse is placed in the middle of Suzhou ancient city, in a picturesque and silent street. The house is very beautiful, the furniture are elegant, there is also a smart toilet and disposable items. Unfortunately there were not bath towels but paper ones.
There was no front desk at all, even if specified in the property description. We arrived at 13 (frontdesk time 8-19) but nobody was there and we didn't receive anything on the trip.com chat. When we called the property, they answered us only in Chinese and then sent us a weChat Qr code. They wrote us only in Chinese even if we were texting them in English. Fortunately weChat has a translation service, otherwise it would have been impossible for us to understand what to do. They gave then information about how to reach the property (even if we were already there) and gave us an access code that we were not able to use, since we didn't know the most important thing: the room number. Furthermore the access code changed anytime we go out (they said it's a problem related to non-chinese people) and was quite annoying to write them all the time on we chat.
The room is very good though!

The hotel is located right in the heart of Shantang Street, which makes it very convenient for shopping, sightseeing and exploring the area on foot. However, there is an important drawback: cars cannot reach the hotel directly. You will need to drag your luggage for several hundred metres along a rocky path to get there.
To reach the hotel, you also have to walk through its front shop, which functions partly as a silk shop and museum. During peak hours, this area can get extremely crowded and hectic, making it quite difficult to navigate with luggage. This can be particularly inconvenient for families with young children or those travelling with large or multiple suitcases.
**Room:**
The room was relatively clean and spacious, with a bathtub. However, the view was disappointing as our room faced a 民宿/local residential buildings rather than the river. The room came with basic amenities.
**Service:**
The front desk staff, Xin, Summer and Xiao Ma, were helpful and friendly. Fish food was provided for the kids to feed the koi while we waited for check-in, which was a nice touch. The staff also helped carry our luggage to our room and, during check-out, helped bring our luggage to the designated pick-up point where our driver could meet us.
**Breakfast:**
Breakfast was a set meal consisting of noodles with bamboo shoots and meat, a hard-boiled egg, corn, pickles and grapes. It was very simple and, honestly, not very tasty. We ended up leaving most of it untouched.
**Add-ons / Extras:**
Apparently, the minibar is complimentary, but this was not mentioned to us during check-in. Some snacks also appeared to be provided for free, although again, we were not informed about this. We also did not receive the welcome fruit mentioned on the booking website.
There is a complimentary 30-minute photoshoot that includes three free photos, with the option to purchase additional photos. Unfortunately, our experience with the photoshoot was very disappointing. The photographer appeared inexperienced and struggled to find flattering angles. Many of the photos were overexposed or captured awkward facial expressions. We were quite surprised by the overall quality of the photos.
**Overall:**
The hotel's biggest advantage is definitely its location — being right on Shantang Street makes sightseeing extremely convenient. The staff were also helpful and accommodating. However, the difficult luggage access, crowded entrance, disappointing breakfast and poor-quality photoshoot were significant drawbacks, especially for families travelling with young children and large luggage.

AAnonymous UserThis was my second stay here, and it's definitely one of the best hotels I've experienced in the Jiangsu-Zhejiang-Shanghai region, both in terms of hardware and software. The location is excellent, right in Suzhou's old town, very close to the Master of the Nets Garden and Canglang Pavilion, making it convenient to get around.
I highly recommend their courtyard rooms. Each has a small garden at the front and back, allowing you to enjoy the tranquility of a classical garden without even leaving your room. Especially with the recent frequent rain, sitting in the courtyard and admiring the garden in the rain often creates a beautiful ambiance.
The hotel restaurant has a Black Pearl One Diamond rating in Suzhou, and the food is truly outstanding. Enjoying the breakfast buffet in the morning is pure bliss! They must have an excellent pastry chef because the Western pastries at breakfast are incredibly rich and truly stand out. Their Suzhou-style dim sum is also just as good as what you'd find in famous old shops outside, saving you the trouble of searching for good food. You can be very satisfied with your meals right here at the hotel. 😁
This time, I'm especially grateful to our butler, Vickey. She's the warmest and most helpful butler I've ever encountered at a hotel, providing a lot of assistance and genuinely solving problems. The service at this hotel is truly excellent, making the entire stay very comfortable. I'll definitely be back! 😘

GGuest UserI always choose to stay here whenever I'm in Wuxi, and it's consistently a fantastic experience. The front desk service is excellent and attentive, the rooms are spotlessly clean, and the facilities are well-equipped. This is my absolute go-to for accommodation in Wuxi! Highly recommend!

Although the hotel was opened in 2011, the rooms are very good in terms of performance and facilities, which brings convenience to people🙋. Because it was before New Year's Eve and I wanted to decorate the room, I called the front desk and added a girl who was working that day on WeChat. Miss Shi Limin was very willing to help us decorate and could provide us with balloons. The hotel is very neat and clean, and the turndown service is particularly good. There are welcome fruits and some snacks. The real world has added this young lady (Miss Shi Limin at the front desk), she is really considerate! I woke up in the morning after checking out today and wanted to take a bath🛀 but there was no hot water! I called the front desk three times but no specific notice was given about the availability of hot water. Then I bothered Ms. Shi Limin again. She said she hadn't gone to work yet, so she would make a call first to help with the matter, and then she would send me a message within ten minutes. He said that because the hotel was full yesterday and there was no hot water supply, he could apply for a later check-out and I could take a hot shower. Okay, I was moved again. The receptionist called me later. It was Miss Shi Limin who came to work and called me to apologize. They also applied for a hand-warmer cup for us because of the hot water. I used to work in a hotel, and I feel that Ms. Shi Limin's service is really good. Within her limited ability, she makes customers feel at home, which is commendable. She is very responsible and patient. Encourage me, your efforts and persistence will become your own shining point 👍 Very considerate to solve the problem for us.

JJas.nThe hotel is in a great location, inside Zhouzhuang water town (which is absolutely stunning day or night). Upon arrival the owner sent me a message on WeChat with the basic instructions and some recommendations, and explained that because the hotel is located inside the scenic area of Zhouzhuang there is a ticket fee one would have to pay if they enter between 8am and 5pm but before or after that time entrance is free, so it is best to leave and enter before or after those times. She also recommended a theatre performance to me and got a ticket at a discounted price which was nice (the theatre performance was incredible too).
Since before arrival I had a bit of trouble with my payment methods, but the owner was very patient and kind and gave me time to solve the problem.
The room was modern and clean, with well working appliances and a big bed.

GGuest UserThe room view was absolutely incredible! I saw a picture online of willows and a small river in front of the property and booked it immediately. The real-life view was even more stunning than I imagined! The owners were so kind; when we were sitting by the river at night enjoying the view, they came out and asked if we wanted mosquito repellent, and even brought us chairs and tea. When we checked out, they even gave us some local specialty 'sock-bottom crispy cakes'! My stay in Zhouzhuang was truly, truly wonderful!

AAnonymous UserOur stay at this Suzhou apartment was nothing short of perfect! As first-time visitors, we were blown away by the incredible value. The location is great, just a quick 5-minute walk from the MRT, which made exploring the entire city effortless.
The apartment itself was exactly as described: spotlessly clean, surprisingly spacious, and equipped with everything we needed. The highlight for us was the big projector screen; winding down each night with Chinese dramas was a unique and fun experience. Having a washer and dryer in the unit was also a huge convenience, allowing us to pack light.
The true standout was our host. She was exceptionally helpful, providing a personal recommendations. Their tips truly made our trip special.
We felt so at home and will 100% be recommending this gem to all our friends. Don’t hesitate—book this place for a seamless and memorable Suzhou adventure

GGuest UserThis guesthouse is really great! It has its own unique charm, the surroundings are beautiful, and it's super clean and tidy. A shuttle picked us up right at the parking lot, and it's only about a hundred meters from the scenic area entrance, making it incredibly convenient for getting around. The guesthouse also has its own restaurant, and the dishes are exquisitely prepared and taste amazing. Highly, highly recommend! 👍👍👍
