Hotel Pet Friendly di Shanxi, China

I dont often post reviews, but this hotel absolutely deserves all the positive ratings it gets! Firstly the location is excellent, just a stones throw from the main street. In fact the whole city is easily walkable but if you struggle with mobility there are several shuttle services. Secondly the value for money is incredible, the room felt luxurious and the central courtyard is very pretty, so for the price you really cannot complain. Thirdly, and arguably most importantly the hosts are absolute sweethearts. Even though I only stayed one night, they gave me a lift to and from the train station, as well as a free bottle of local vinegar! I seriously can't recommend this place enough!!

We had a amazing time staying at this hotel. It's in an ancient house over 200 years old and it's absolutely beautiful. Like walking into a museum but still with all the facilities. It's in a brilliant location in the old city. Easy to walk to. We were picked up from the high-speed train station and taken about the 20 minutes to the outside of the the city and our cases were brought in on the electric trolley. We were given a good welcome with a map to explain where everything was and some recommendations for restaurants. Breakfast was was tasty with local produce and he shared some of his vinegar with us as well. It was all good, a comfy bed, air conditioning shower was good and the staff were really well. Welcoming and friendly. Very small but but pleasant stay.

Kemudahan hotel agak baik dan agak baharu, tetapi lokasinya agak terpencil. Perkhidmatannya biasa-biasa sahaja; tiada sesiapa di kaunter penerimaan tetamu apabila saya kembali pada pukul 10 malam. Bilik terasa sempit dan kalis bunyinya teruk. Sarapan pagi tidak istimewa, dan terdapat rambut di atas katil. Anggur di dalam bar mini busuk. Secara keseluruhan, pengalaman yang agak mengecewakan.

Lovely host. Always happy to help with anything. And of course an absolutely beautiful spot too. I loved the vibe of the guest house, and the rooms reflected that ancient feel too. Although because it’s so pretty there were so many people taking photoshoots while I was in the room, which was kinda weird as I could hear everything. The location was great as it was off the main roads whilst still being close enough. I loved my time here. Highly recommend!

This is without doubt the ideal place to stay in Pingyao Gucheng. It is located pretty much equidistant from the 4 gate towers - smack in the middle of the ancient town. It is right at the edge of the no-car zone (which is approximately the Southern half of the Gucheng), and this means that the hotel's car can drop you off right at the hotel's gate, and there is no need to roll your luggage down a street or transfer from car to electric cart. The Gucheng's main street is 5 minutes' walk away, easy access to all the restaurants, shops and main attractions. The hotel oozes old world charm, yet is up-to-date with modern amenities like heating in both room and bathroom, comfortable beds, key cards, etc. Hygiene and service were impeccable. The driver picked us up from and dropped us back at the high-speed train station on time, front desk staff checked on our needs all the time, helped with our bags (driver calling ahead before arriving), gave us daily fruit platters and water, etc. We had a fantastic time, and felt more taken care of than anywhere else on this month-long trip in China. Definitely recommend this hotel.

Really amazing service. Started off with a lovely cup of coffee cos I was coming from Wutai mountain from a hotel deep in Shanxi that serves no coffee. Pickup service at the gate, brilliant intro to the quaint little town. Awesome sit down intro on what to do in Pingyao - neither too superficial nor too heavy. Fresh fruits served once I was in the room. A minor issue with tiny noise from aircon and after 2-3 attempts to solve it, they moved me to another room. Checkout, they drive you to the train station. Oh, I left a teeshirt and they offered to sent it to me but it turned out to be too expensive. Lol. Best hotel this 14 day trip in China and I am on my last leg. 2 more days in Beijing and I head home.

A place that allowed us to rejuvenate and sleep well! It has a hot spring tub in the room. Bed is a king size bed. Toilet has a sewer smell though, so that is one minus point. Service is awesome. Service staffs were helping us to bring our luggage down and up the car. They also helped navigate our car into the old city. We appreciate the free snacks and arrival drinks. The disposable toothbrush is surprisingly usable. The location is near to food street; the staff will gladly direct you to it. Thanks for the staff — 丽莎，小赵，小良!

位置方便，就在古城裡麪，緊挨着小吃街和酒吧街，去哪裡都方便。 酒店管家服務態度很好，親切隨和。 酒店環境非常舒服，酒店內庭院設計很有心思。 房間內智能控制非常貼心。 温泉水質挺好，洗完皮膚滑滑的，還贈送了玫瑰花瓣，氛圍感拉滿。

We are a German and Irish couple and just spent two wonderful days in Pingyao- and this boutique hotel was truly excellent. The service was five-star from start to finish, the room was perfect and equipped with everything we could possibly want, and every detail of the hotel and room was beautifully designed. The coffee and fresh fruit were amazing, and the whole concept was well thought out and comfortable. The station pickup and drop-off were also incredibly smooth, which made everything so easy. We can honestly say this is a place you have to stay at when in Pingyao!
