Very good location. Airport bus stops 2 blocks away. Close to the Guggenheim and other museums and tourist sites. Great welcome and check in. Basic bed with bedding. Kitchen only has a microwave and fridge – no opportunity to cook. No towels, but lockers available so bring your own lock. It’s comfortable but certainly not premium as the name implies. This was our first trip to Madrid and the northern cities of Spain so we wanted to take in some of the highlights of the region. Our son and daughter-in-law met us in Donastia San Sebastián and had the wise forethought to spend a night in the Basque countryside resort at this picturesque hotel nestled in the rolling, plush green valley approximately 30 minutes outside the bustling city. The moment we drove through the winding roads of the charming town leading to the inn’s entrance I knew we were in for a delightful treat. Despite a rather greeting from the gentleman at the front desk who checked us in, we were enthralled by the decor of the interior public rooms and each of our spacious guest rooms with breathtaking sights and sounds of the outdoors. Dinner was a most impressive Michelin menu, with palatable and delectable presentations. A small but sufficient and equally tasty breakfast was served the next morning to send us off with warm and wonderful memories of our stay.

While walking the Camino Del norte we stayed in this beautiful hotel just outside markina On its own grounds an old barn and mill in the 13th century. A bit of luxury for a pilgrim. we had a lovely room with a balcony whre we crashed out for an hour in the sunshine following our walk.. All staff were very pleasant but our receptionist Anysley was exceptionally helpful and friendly. Lovely food and drink restaurant exceptional. A bit pricey but well worth it.
