Capsis Astoria is a great hotel centrally located in Heraklion. The rooms are comfortable and we liked our balcony. The rooftop pool is amazing with a full service bar and plenty of different types of seating and views of the city and sea in the distance. All the staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel is across the road from the hop on hop off bus, airport bus, museum and many restaurants and bars down the alleys.

Très joli hôtel avec une vue exceptionnelle sur la mer et les montagnes des chambres et du restaurant . Tout l’hôtel vient d’être rénové donc tout est moderne et très propre.Chambres spacieuses surtout les suites « maisonnettes » qui ont un grand espace salon avec grand balcon terrasse et une chambre sur mezzanine ouverte sur le salon. Très grand lit avec très bonne literie tout est neuf et de belle qualité . Les peintures sont blanches et les pièces joliment décorées moderne et sobre. Très grande douche vitrée qui donne sur le salon !! C’est spéciale mais on s’y fait !!! Tout comme l’espace lavabo qui est en fait dans le couloir !!! Adult only heureusement !!!
Très bel espace piscine avec pool bar, énormément de vent mais je dirais presque heureusement sinon on ne tiendrait pas vu la chaleur .
Petit dej et repas du soir très correct . Buffet de crudités et soupe puis le plat (que vous choisissez le matin 3 choix)vous est servit à table.
Personnel souriant et très gentil.
Voiture indispensable car loin de tout .

GGrimI knew as soon as I heard goats with their little bells on that I’d like this place. Quiet, quaint, country accomodation on the way to Samaria Gorge.
The family who run it were all lovely, and mum even made me up a picnic to take on the hike before dad gave us a lift to the starting point.
Maybe it’s because it never happens back home, but I ordered a beer downstairs upon arrival, and got given free olives - that made my absolute day and, though previously incorruptible, my loyalty was bought instantly and totally.
I also had the rabbit fry up thingo, which tasted great, although the salad itself was even better, though it curse my carnivorous tongue to say it.
The bedroom had a great balcony for looking out over the green and rocky hills. Bed was super comfy, and it actually was a little colder way up in the Omalos elevation (in June) which made sleep come very easily for those like me who run hot. Big fluffy blanket in the cupboard though for those of you who like to be warmer.
The bathroom is a bit small and being on the tall end of the height spectrum I had to be wary not to knock myself out on the hand basin when using the toilet. But if you’re under 6 foot you’ll patting your genetics on their small back.
The building is relatively old so expect to hear some footfalls as other guests go past your room, but other than that, blissfully quiet overnight.
The daughter of the family speaks really good English which helped a couple times, when regretfully I seemed to have forgotten all my Greek (which I rudely hadn’t learned prior to arriving).
I can’t recommend this homely hotel enough, so if you’re on your way to hike the gorge, park your car here and stay the night. Then stay in Agia Romelli at the very end of the hike. Then come back to Omalos the next day and get some home style cooking back into your weary body.
Or whatever floats your ferry.

AAnastasia123We stayed here with my mom for one night, and we were absolutely delighted with this hotel. From the moment we arrived, we knew it was special. The location is perfect—set in a peaceful village, just a one-minute walk to a wide, spacious beach with easy access to the water.
The room was spotless, freshly renovated, and even smelled pleasant. We had a large balcony with a table, and everything was so clean that when we wiped the table, there wasn’t even a trace of dust. The attention to detail in the cleaning was truly impressive.
The owner was wonderful to meet—so kind, welcoming, and generous. He treated us to fresh fruit and shared many helpful tips about the area, making our stay feel extra personal and warm. Breakfast was another highlight: homemade, delicious, and prepared with so much care.
This hotel completely won us over—the location, the atmosphere, the hospitality, everything was perfect. We already dream of coming back and staying longer.

GGuest UserBeach is small but very good , nice soft sand , protected from wind , transparent water. Buffet. One for breakfast and dinner looks like cantina with too many package tourists not a pleasant spending time there And that’s a real pity that the hotel doesn’t have only breakfast. Rooms with a mountain view are not having view at all only to the plants in front of hotels , all mountains are closed by the bushes , if you book this category of rooms ask for the highest floor

JJelle SPerfect stay in Sitia. Everything was great I arrived at 1.30am and there is a 24h reception. The rooms are clean and big, the bathroom is clean and good shower yet little old. A terrace with city and seaview. A good breakfast included. The rooftop bar with swimmingpool has fantastic views over the bay. Decent restaurant in front of the hotel. Located on the best location. The only negative part was no soundproof walls. I loved my stay there!

The rooms were spotless, the food was excellent, and all the staff were wonderful throughout our stay. A special thank you to Mara, who was especially helpful and made our experience even better. TtommyFor the price of our stay it was well worth it!! Food was good and the all inclusive drinks were a big hit! There was entertainment on one of the nights we were there aswell! The pool was standard but a great vibe :) our room had a great view -one of the best in the resort 👌
