The hotel is very big with the very reasonable price. However, the hotel don’t have ONsen and the staff could not communicate in English. The were trying to help but it took time. The city is very big. We like Masa21 mall nearby the hotel where you can go for dinner and shopping.

Мы весь день прошли пешком с рюкзаками и этот отель - лучшее, что могло случиться после такого дня: рёкан хоть и не традиционный японский, а современный, имел сауну, тёплую купель на улице и холодную купель внутри. Это было прекрасно! А так же завтрак в отдельной комнате был прекрасен! Спасибо!!

The staff were so friendly and polite and helpful!!! They had a booklet with English for us, and as it was our first onsen experience, they patiently explained everything we needed to know and answered our questions. The outdoor onsen was beautiful and so peaceful. Food was also delicious and our one night stay was very enjoyable and the amount we paid is definitely worth it. Highly recommend :)

Check in very convenient when we arrived about 8pm, the staff are very friendly, helpful and speaking English. Takayama Bus Center and JR Takayama station only 5 minutes walk. Check some day tour that available from Takayama Bus Center which is very easy to join. Many restaurants nearby and souvenir shops at the main street. Big room and more than enough space to put our 2 big luggage. A bit unstable hot water from the shower but overall is no complaint and we have a pleasant stay at this hotel.

Very impressed by the meals especially the dinner. It’s is excellent and of high quality.
The onsen are exceptional experience especially the outdoor where u take the cute life down across the street. Rooms are clean and functional.

Very good experience and staff are very professional especially Mr Taku Yamada as he went the extra mile to accommodate my request to provide me western bed instead of rokan. Hotel is very nice clean n unique with pulley type lift. Good buffet spread. Definitely a good value for money stay.

Stayed at Suimekan Gero Onsen and had a wonderful experience.
The staff, especially Adajisan, was incredibly kind, helpful, and gave great recommendations.
The hotel offers 3 different onsen baths, very relaxing and well maintained.
There is also a game area, making the stay fun and enjoyable.
Highly recommended for anyone visiting Gero Onsen!

PpianogirlThe hotel is a bit out of the way, about a 2000 JPY taxi ride from Gifu city center.
The rooms are spacious, with large bathrooms, walk-in closets, and big beds. Although a bit old, it's clean and suitable for families.
Service was just okay; we had to go to the front desk ourselves to get an extra bottle of water.
Since we were just transiting through Gifu, we only stayed for one night. I wouldn't recommend it for travelers looking for convenient access to explore Gifu.

LLLJDDBOur room was spacious and presented with a private onsen of which we can use any time at our convenience. Because of that, hardly anyone uses the shared private onsen, though the view there is better than that in our rooms. Also, there was no elevator at the hotel, so we had to carry our luggages up and down the stairs, thankfully the hotel only has 2 levels, and the hotel staff were nice enough to help us carry our luggages up into our rooms.
Free parking is available, which is essential as the hotel is not situated nearby any public transport. But it is within 15 to 30 min drive to nearby attractions.
The hotel was quite strict on the meal times as dinner and breakfast are served at 6pm and 8am sharp respectively. We arrived the hotel late on our first night (around 7pm) and almost missed our dinner (and almost got our room cancelled). We were served hida beef in different cooking style at dinner for both nights of our stay, one steamed and one grilled. Both tasted delicious!
All the staff were very friendly and always wearing a grin on their faces. Overall we had a pleasant stay.

¹¹m⁵The assigned room was not the one I booked. Instead of East Wing with a mountain view, I got assigned to South Wing, not sure if it is a mountain view but definitely not what I expected (I will attach a photo). But generally, I still had a fantastic experience there. The location is great for me because it is near Shinhotaka Ropeway. The open air onsen was beautiful, I liked it a lot, and went every night. The food was fantastic too! I am not well versed with Japanese food culture, but basically it was the traditional course meal (only dinner) you probably will have in a decent Japanese restaurant. I am a vegetarian, the hotel is prepared for my diet every breakfast and dinner. I must say I am really amazed with their food culture and knife skill. Their front desk was helpful with my needs too like a nail cutter, plaster etc.

GGuest UserBefore my trip, I booked a quadruple room at the Suimeikan hotel in Gero, Japan, through Trip.com. The booking confirmation stated '2 floor mattresses,' but the pictures showed two beds. I assumed the room configuration would be two beds and two floor mattresses. However, the front desk assigned me a room with four floor mattresses. I felt this wasn't what I had booked, and after almost an hour of fruitless discussion with the front desk, they insisted this was the room type I reserved. They said if I wanted a room with two beds, it would be considered an upgrade and require an additional payment of 17,600 JPY for two nights, which I obviously couldn't accept. Ultimately, I had to call Trip.com to complain. Trip.com's communication with the hotel also led nowhere, and in the end, Trip.com covered the cost. I really have to praise Trip.com's service here; their response to my complaint was very quick, and their solution after failing to negotiate with the hotel was decisive. I'm very satisfied with that, which is why I typically book all my travel through Trip.com. While their prices might sometimes be slightly higher than other platforms, their after-sales service is absolutely reliable. When issues arise, you realize that this slight premium is definitely worth it.

The duplex room had a living room on the lower level and a bedroom, bathroom, and open-air bath on the upper level, fulfilling my long-held dream of staying in a duplex. The hotel was huge, with public baths on the 2nd and 8th floors respectively. Both were large and very comfortable to soak in, but the open-air bath in the room was even more convenient and relaxing, especially in the morning while enjoying the view – a wonderful experience. The room was fully equipped. Dinner was arranged at the Western restaurant, and my husband said the sound system there was incredibly expensive. Breakfast was a buffet, mainly Japanese-style, which didn't quite suit our tastes.
