AArina DurdinaStaying at this guesthouse was one of the highlights of our entire trip to Zhangjiajie. We were traveling with our 4-year-old child, and the main purpose of our journey was to visit Zhangjiajie National Park — and this place made the experience absolutely unforgettable.
From the very beginning, the service was exceptional. The atmosphere feels warm, welcoming, and genuinely family-like. You are treated not just as a guest, but as a truly valued part of the household. Since we were traveling with a child, we were kindly offered a two-bedroom apartment — an incredible gesture that made our stay exceptionally comfortable.
The sleep quality deserves special praise: the bedding, pillows, and blankets are all of the highest standard. You sink into sleep as if you were staying in a top luxury hotel. The interior is beautifully designed — a tasteful blend of East and West, with great attention to detail. Everything, from the bathroom fixtures to the toiletries, is carefully chosen and of excellent quality.
The staff’s kindness and care deserve a separate mention. Our “auntie” was available for us at any moment through a private WeChat group, ready to help with anything we needed. Breakfast was freshly prepared every morning, and the chef is simply outstanding. All meals are Chinese cuisine, cooked with love, and always adapted to our child’s preferences. We ended up having dinner at the guesthouse every night because it felt like home-cooked comfort food.
The location is another huge advantage — only a 5-minute drive to the Southeast Gate of Zhangjiajie National Park, which is the most convenient entrance with the best choice of routes. The guesthouse provided transfers to the park and also arranged our pick-up from the airport in advance.
The property has 17 rooms of different sizes — one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments, some with terraces overlooking spectacular scenery. The guesthouse is set in a peaceful and picturesque area where you can take short walks, observe local village life, and enjoy stunning views from every angle.
Overall, this place made our trip truly special. It combines comfort, warmth, thoughtful service, and a perfect location. We wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone visiting Zhangjiajie — you will feel at home, cared for, and surrounded by beauty. If you want your journey to be unforgettable, this is the place to stay.

首先必须夸赞的是服务——真的非常棒。民宿整体氛围温暖亲切，让人有一种回到家的感觉。这里的主人待客如家人，让人由衷地感受到尊重与关怀。因为我们带着孩子，民宿主动为我们安排了两居室的套房，这让我们一家住得非常舒适。
睡眠质量更是超出预期：床品、被褥、枕头都非常高级，柔软舒适，让人一躺下就能沉沉睡去，完全媲美高端奢华酒店。房间的设计也很有品味，是中西融合的雅致风格，从卫浴设施到洗漱用品都能看出店家对品质的用心。
店主一家非常热情周到，我们的“阿姨”随时在微信小群里为我们答疑和提供帮助。每天早上都有现做的早餐，厨师的手艺非常棒。民宿以中餐为主，每天的晚餐也都在这里吃，味道温暖家常，还会根据孩子的口味特别调整，十分贴心。
地理位置也极其便利，距离张家界国家森林公园东南门仅五分钟车程。这个入口是最方便的选择，从那里开始可以挑选不同的线路。民宿提供往返的接送服务，我们的机场接机也是提前安排好的，非常省心。
民宿共有17间房，大小不一，有一居室和两居室的公寓，有些还带露台，可以看到非常漂亮的景色。周边环境十分安静，适合散步、体验当地村落生活，每一处都能看到迷人的山景。

GGuest UserThis hotel is absolutely fantastic! The front desk staff were incredibly warm and welcoming. Breakfast was abundant and delicious. I especially want to commend Ms. Qu Xianlin, a server in the restaurant, for her exceptionally thoughtful and enthusiastic service. She personally brought us coffee and fruit, which I found very touching. Thank you, staff of Sunshine Hotel! The bedding was comfortable, and the room was spacious and very clean. I'll definitely come back if I have the chance.

GGuest UserThe staff were exceptionally friendly and went above and beyond to assist us with planning activities and handling bookings. They were consistently responsive to all our enquiries, which made the experience smooth and stress-free.
The location was exactly as described—peacefully situated near the forest, offering a relaxing and natural setting.
One area for improvement would be the availability of more vegetarian-friendly food options.
Overall, it was a wonderful stay, and I would definitely book here again when revisiting the area.

AAnonymous UserIf I had to pick one impressive facility at this hotel, it would definitely be the tea room. The ambiance is perfect for unwinding and relaxing. As a tea lover, this was a huge bonus! The overall decor of the tea room is quite nice, with everything you need: tea tables, full sets of tea ware, clean and sparkling teacups, and complete hot water facilities. It's ideal for a quiet solo tea session or chatting with friends. The shelves nearby are filled with various teas and decorative items, and the environment is wonderfully quiet and serene. After a tiring journey, brewing a pot of tea here, slowly sipping it, and reading a book instantly melts away travel fatigue. The space is tidy and clean, and the amenities are thoughtfully provided. Guests can enjoy it for free, making it suitable for business discussions or a casual break. The attention to detail really elevates the stay. I highly recommend it!

GGuest UserI brought my parents to Zhangjiajie for the May Day holiday and after some consideration, we chose Shawn. The experience was excellent.
The location is great – convenient for dining and shopping, yet away from the bustling city center. There's a stream behind the hotel, and you can see Tianmen Mountain in the distance, offering a peaceful retreat amidst the activity.
The hotel environment is lovely, with a Shawn-themed design and stylish decor. It's well-equipped with a gym, family-friendly facilities, a bar, and dining options.
Upon check-in, we received a free room upgrade. The room was clean, the bedding spotless, and the orthopedic mattress was incredibly comfortable. We slept very well after two days of exploring Zhangjiajie.
The butler service was exceptional. The manager, front desk, housekeeping, and engineering staff provided one-on-one service through a group chat, attending to every request promptly without being intrusive. It was a fantastic experience.

__sailinStaying here during a holiday, the noise from planes taking off and landing was incredibly loud and continued until 11:30 PM. On top of that, the soundproofing in the room was terrible. I could clearly hear people walking and dragging luggage upstairs, and since there's no elevator, the noise from suitcases being dragged down the stairs in the morning was especially jarring. From 11:30 PM to 6:30 AM, there was constant noise from people getting up and moving around, plus there was construction happening nearby. I barely got any sleep all night. I definitely wouldn't recommend this place for light sleepers who need peace and quiet.
As for cleanliness, this is the only hotel I've ever stayed in where I didn't even feel like putting on makeup because everything was so dirty. The sink was grimy, the shelf next to it was dirty – it clearly hadn't been thoroughly cleaned in a long time. The baseboards and corners looked like they hadn't been cleaned in years, and the toilet bowl wasn't even wiped dry.
The room layout was very impractical. It was already small, but half of it was awkwardly partitioned off as a tea room, making it difficult to even find space for luggage. The pebble-covered area was completely useless. Plus, there was a step by the bed at night, which felt quite unsafe.
The only positive was that the owner was genuinely nice, offering airport pick-up and drop-off, and being generally friendly. However, I don't think this place is suitable to be run as a guesthouse.

GGuest UserStaying at Forest homestay was the best decision we could have made during our trip to China.
The service was truly 5 star. The staff at the lodge are so kind, helpful and efficient. We got personalised itineraries each day that changed a lot based on the weather, which was quite mixed! I was very impressed by their efficiency and flexibility. Each day we were driven to and from the park gate (for free). Pickup was within a couple of mins of us messaging that we were ready to leave. All of the staff were wonderful, but Guo Pu was a standout from our trip. Not only did he cart us around and respond to any questions via WeChat within minutes, but he made sure we got the most out of our time there - he pulled fruit from fruit trees at the lodge for us to eat, showed us the various animals they keep onsite, and took photos of us at the sky mirror. He was really great at giving instructions for getting the best effects! (Photos attached)
The room was superb - lots of great features like a heated air function in the shower that was helpful for drying off wet clothes after we got caught in a downpour. The room is a rustic style and there’s a few places that could do with a lick of paint and tidying up, but this added more to the rustic charm! The view really was incredible.
The location of the lodge might first seem far from the action of the park, but trust me, this is a blessing in disguise! The park gets incredibly busy, especially around Yuanjiajie. The busyness really can ruin the natural beauty. Being close to the Westgate allows you to access the park from the most uncommon direction which is actually marvellous as it means you are less likely to get caught up in crowds and queues as you are travelling around the park in the opposite direction of the vast majority of the tourists. This really makes a difference and maximising the time that you have in the park. Because of the mixed weather, we ended up travelling most of the top sights in the park again on the single good weather day and this worked really well because of our direction of travel. The Westgate is much quieter and the surrounding area is much more peaceful than the busy area around the east gates. This allows you to really enjoy the peace and beauty of nature when you aren’t exploring the park.
I would highly recommend staying here when you visit Zhangjiajie, and I’d like to thank all of the staff for such a magical and amazing time.

GGuest UserI stayed in a wooden cabin villa with a huge balcony. The driver was very punctual for station pick-ups and drop-offs, and the front desk service was excellent. The auntie who made rice noodles for us at breakfast was also very kind. The staff and service here are all wonderful. Plus, the hotel is very clean. Even though it's been rainy these past few days in Zhangjiajie, the dehumidification in the room was great at keeping things dry! Waking up to beautiful views from the window every day really boosted my mood.

GGuest UserOur stay at this lodge was absolutely unforgettable. The views were simply breathtaking, waking up and looking out over such beautiful scenery was an experience in itself. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help with anything we needed, which made the whole stay feel so relaxing and comfortable. Also really close to the park and they even offered a free shuttle to the park.
The food was also outstanding, with every meal being fresh, delicious, and beautifully prepared. Most of all, this lodge was the perfect place to unwind and relax. The peaceful atmosphere combined with the amazing surroundings made it a truly special getaway. We would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing escape with incredible views and exceptional hospitality.

My friends and I booked four rooms for two nights for a trip during the Qingming Festival, and on the very first day, we were all marveling at finding such a delightful and comfortable guesthouse. The location is excellent, close to the main road Wuling Avenue, and just a short walk further up to the central gate of the Forest Park. The views are superb; situated on a hillside, facing north to south, you can enjoy stunning sunsets and the sight of misty green mountains. The environment is beautiful; both inside and outside the courtyard are meticulously maintained, making every snap a picturesque scene. The accommodation is great; the rooms are spacious and clean, the bedding is comfortable, and the kids loved it. What's more, despite being nestled by the mountain, there was no musty smell during the Qingming season; it was quite dry. The service is exceptional; both the owner and other staff members were warm and polite. On a rainy day, they even placed umbrellas by our doors early in the morning. In the evenings, we gathered around the stove in the lobby for tea, with the children roasting cured meats, sausages, and sticky rice cakes. Finally, I must praise the owner's breakfast – it was plentiful and delicious! And the black chicken soup for dinner was absolutely amazing!
