Hotel Romantic di Jiangsu, China

Yangzhou State Guesthouse is located within a sprawling area where many of the facilities are within walking distance. It is like staying in a holiday resort. You can either walk to the different facilities or take the buggy provided. The Slender West Lake (瘦西湖） is just beside the Guesthouse and is definitely worth a visit both during the day and in the evening. A bit too hot to visit in the summer, but it will be nice during spring and/or autumn.

Sangat berpuas hati dengan homestay ini! Biliknya bersih, kemas dan kemudahan serba lengkap. Penginapan ini terletak di tepi sungai, lokasinya antara gerbang pintu masuk kawasan pelancongan dan Jembatan Kembar (Shuang Qiao), sangat memudahkan pergerakan, untuk membeli-belah dan melawat tempat-tempat menarik. Pada waktu malam, persekitaran di sini juga sangat tenang dan sunyi, sesuai untuk tidur. Pada waktu malam, saya duduk di kerusi santai yang disediakan oleh pemilik (lengkap dengan ubat nyamuk untuk mengelakkan gigitan serangga) di tepi sungai, sambil merokok, menghirup teh, dan menikmati angin malam yang sejuk. (Pemilik wanita berulang kali bertanya sama ada saya memerlukan termos air panas dihantar ke bilik). Sambil memerhatikan bot-bot pelancong berulang-alik (dan pelbagai gelagat penumpang), mendengar nyanyian pendayung perahu, dan sekadar termenung. Sungguh mengasyikkan! Sebelum bertolak pulang, pemilik juga menghulurkan buah tangan berupa snek kecil. Ketika melawat pekan lama, saya telah melihat banyak homestay dan rumah tumpangan lain. Selepas membuat perbandingan menyeluruh, saya pasti akan memilih tempat ini untuk menginap apabila kembali ke Pekan Lama Zhouzhuang lagi.

A beautiful hotel with large and spacious rooms. Breakfast was great, I regret not purchasing the breakfast while booking the room and only made the purchase during my stay… it is more exp to add on the breakfast later. A note that the hotel rooms can be quite far from the lobby and breakfast place so if you want convenience, do stay closer to the restaurant / lobby - make sure to inform the hotel in advance. The walk from the hotel rooms to these areas is all covered tho. We rented a hanfu + photoshoot at the in-house hanfu shop. Compared prices with other shops in town and theirs was pretty reasonable - 599 for 24 hours rental of their hanfu, make up, and photos. So we went with them mainly due to the convenience of the location. We also wore the hanfu to Wuyan banquet that’s just beside reflection coffee. I want to specially give a shout out to Xiao Lin, their photographer who was so patient with my sister, mom & I during the shoot.

Best location if you wanted to visit Slender Lake as the entrance is just across the road. There are restaurants to the left of the resort as well if opting to dine out. The resort is quite big, with separate buildings housing different types of rooms. Well catered for families with kids. We got the room with a hot spring inside so we didn’t visit the public one.

Fantastic location. Walkable to a lot of the attractions, yet tucked at a quiet bend along the main road. The hotel receptionists are extremely attentive, even providing warm bottled water when we are waiting for the washing machine. Highly recommended for your stay in suzhou (select rooms on level 2-5 for more privacy)

Such good value for what your get - luxurious huge room, central location and 24hr service and cleaning. The concierge is on the 15th floor and a bit hidden. Note: there’s no gym, pool, room service, buffet breakfast etc but that’s why it’s such good value!!!

We were pleasantly surprised by a complimentary room upgrade. The check-in and check-out procedures were smooth with many staff attending to your every needs. They were all very helpful and professional. The hotel is a bit dated but otherwise well maintained. We were thoroughly satisfied with our stay. Location-wise, the hotel is connected to Xinjiekou station and near to many tourist attractions. Breakfast buffet spread was sumptuous with both Chinese and Western varieties with egg station, noodle station and a variety of beverages. Although a large hotel, breakfast never felt crowded and most mornings I was able to enjoy long and slow breakfast. Highly recommended. 

Saya menempah hotel untuk bangun awal untuk pergi ke taman seni. Gadis kecil yang baik hati di meja depan melihat bahawa saya sedang dalam perjalanan seorang diri dan memberi saya sarapan pagi, yang sesuai untuk memasuki taman pada pukul 7:30. Saya juga menyediakan cenderahati apabila saya pergi. Percubaan percuma Hanfu hotel berlangsung selama tiga jam, jadi saya tidak dapat menahan diri daripada memakai solek dan mengambil gambar. Gadis solek itu juga membantu saya berkomunikasi dengan jurugambar dan memenuhi hasrat saya pergi ke taman seni untuk mengambil gambar, yang sama dengan memasuki taman seni dua kali dalam satu hari. Pendek kata, hotel ni memang best bila ke Yipu!

This was one of my favorite hotels I’ve stayed at in China. The room was comfortable and the ladies at the front desk were so kind and attentive ( i am a foreigner who doesn’t speak much Chinese) so they were very helpful. Thank you for this great stay!

Very happy with the experience. Room’s clean, even though its a bit small but suitable for 1-2 persons. Receptionists are very welcoming and helpful. The location is very near to subway station, makes it convenient to go anywhere in Nanjing. Compared to other hotels in the area, this is the best one. 十分好！
