Hotel Romantic di Otago, New Zealand

I had a truly wonderful stay at this retreat. The place itself is absolutely spectacular — very calming, beautifully maintained, and surrounded by breathtaking views. The deck is stunning, and it was the perfect spot to relax and unwind. The owners were exceptionally friendly and went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and looked after throughout my stay. Their hospitality genuinely stood out. The dogs were lovely and added so much warmth to the experience. Breakfast was excellent, and the variety of teas available was out of this world. As a female solo traveller, I felt completely safe, comfortable, and well cared for, which is something I value highly. The atmosphere is peaceful and nurturing — exactly what you want from a retreat. The only minor downside is that it’s a bit far from the shops (around a one-hour walk). However, this was easily managed as Uber is only a 6-minute drive, and the hosts were also kind enough to offer lifts when possible. Overall, an absolutely stunning place, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and memorable stay

Amazing and beautiful hotel facing the lake. The 3 bedroom apartment we took is beautiful. Breakfast was good albeit space is smaller. Overall good hotel and residence to stay whenever you are in Queenstown.

Location: The hotel is located close to the Queenstown airport but approximately 15 mins away from Queenstown itself. Parking: There is no parking bays at the Hilton (only valet) itself but it shares with Doubletree which is limited. Due to some maintenance work, level P2 was closed off and had to park in a reserved slot for the night. Cost of parking is NZ$ 16 per night. Rooms: This is where my issue lies, the room temp is centrally managed and it was freezing at night especially with the floor to ceiling windows. Had to go to the front desk for portable heater and extra blankets on the 1st night. Bathroom is non-heated (with tiled floors) so extra cold in there. In most places we stayed in NZ, the bathrooms had heated lamps overhead for comfort. I requested the accessible room for mom and it was provided as requested although the location of the room was on one end of the building which is a distance to walk. Food: Breakfast was a good selection and ran from 630 to 1030am.

Unfortunately, my stay was not very comfortable. The soundproofing is very poor, and there is a nightclub nearby that plays very loud music late into the night, making it difficult to sleep. For those who drive, can park on the roadside across the street for free after 6pm. In addition, the shower water pressure was very low, which was disappointing.

The location is good, reception was friendly. The o ly issue we had is the house cleaning. When we first arrived, the hand wash etc is nearly empty. Then the next day the house cleaning only tidy up the bed, still no refill. Went and told the reception, they say will put a note to make sure that handle that the next day. But next day, there was no room service at all!!. Have to call the reception again to complain. Finally the next day they refill the hand wash but this time the shampoo and body wash is not refilled. Feels like they only do the minimum to get away with it. But having said that, this place is fine for us apart from the house cleaning part. Note: Car park are limited and is a first come first served basis. If you missed out it is 11 NZD per day

Booked 4nights, disappointed with my room is face directly onto the parking lot. My room was on the ground floor, right in front of the cars, which meant i had to keep the curtains closed the entire time, couldn’t see the beautiful mountain at all. Lovely fine dining room with stunning views, had breakfast there. The location is a bit away from central town, so it’s better you have a rental car to stay here(free parking offered ). Overall, it’s quite standard hotel.

酒店風景很好，服務也很棒，bella小姐姐很熱情 酒店下午茶很好吃，早飯也不錯 就是裝修有點老，很多地方破舊 重要的是。二種房型，不管哪種入住都一樣，首頁女生在床上對着窗外這個角度現在是放餐桌

We enjoyed our stay at the camp. A very different experience from hotels as it is communal living but with the privacy of your own unit. Staff were attentive to our needs and rendered assistance promptly. Would stay here again if I'm ever visiting Lake Hawea!

Hotel with nice history, beatiful garden and relax zone. In the hotel you can find bar and restaurant with nice food and fireplace. For guests is also available hot tub. Room itself was small, with very old tv and basic facilities. It would be nice if the windows are clean also from outside because having birds dropping decrease guests general feeling about the room.

Despite what’s advertised one should beware some misleading info. We expected a king size bed in the kings deluxe unit but the bed was closer to a Queen. More disappointing was the promise of a “kitchen” only to be presented with an outdoor BBQ grill, microwave, toaster, kettle, plates, bowls and a mini fridge. Absent were pots, pans, a hob and we were told at check in not to do any washing as there was no sink. To be fair, a breakfast basket of breads was provided with jams but it was certainly not a kitchen. When we raised the issue of different advertising with our host, we received neither clarifications nor any sympathy. Otherwise, it was lovely stay.
