King Arthur’s Arms is fabulously located next to a huge car park, yet on Fore Street, which is the Main Street running through Tintagel and about 3 minutes walk to the top of the hill leading down to English Heritage’s Tintagel Castle. On arrival we were checked in at the bar by Jess with a very friendly Cornish welcome. The smell of cleanliness emerged us as we walked up to our huge room with double bed, wardrobe, dressing table, easy chairs and huge bathroom with double walk in shower, sink, toilet and heated radiator. Huge room for Cornwall and immaculate. We chilled out and wandered along and around Tintagel Castle, then back to the pub for dinner. It’s an extensive menu with huge portions. There was no issue with pub noise and we slept well, waking for an extensive breakfast which commences with a choice of pastries and cereals, then Full English, teas, coffees and juices! We were then able to stay parked for a few hours after check out at 10am to wander around Tintagel. Really cannot recommend King Arthur’s Arms enough and particularly so to single parents with kids-safe, friendly and accommodating and shout out to Jess for super friendly service throughout!

Classic English hotel, my room was recently updated and clean; strange not to have daily cleaning service. Small Single room with sea view was expected and very cosy. Appreciate the soft, thick new carpet. Also the single armchair was well used to enjoy sitting by window for the view. Bathroom was brand new, modern and didn’t blend into environment which is a shame. The water from shower was either too hot or cold; also the shower head could not be fixed into the rail so needed holding up. Restaurant meal was very nice, service was especially friendly and attentive. I would stay again in the near future but remind other guests considering that this is a 3 star hotel so you should appreciate that this is meeting the expectations of this grading. Overall daily service at hotel reception was well appreciated and always greeted when passing . Well done and thank you to the hotel staff!

What a lovely gem of a hotel, stayed here with my partner for a night recently and was made up how good the service was, the rooms were lovely and the whole atmosphere was great including Jasper the hotel cat! We enjoyed their imported beers from Prague and Rose Wine, along with our evening meal I had probably the best homemade Tartar sauce i've ever had! The sauna and swimming pool is like that of an art deco type build from the 1930's and wonderfully upkept. The cast of Poldark stayed there a few times when filming in the area, as did Michael Madsen of Reservoir Dogs when he was making a film in Cornwall, there is also nearby the Carn Brea Castle which featured in a James Bond movie. The hotel also had 4 x EV charging points at a reasonable cost, which was very welcomed! Everyone there was lovely and the staff seemed very happy to be working at such a lovely hotel, we will certainly return for another stay!

We had 2 nights here, 11-13 July. We arrived late, between 10-11pm, and the counter staff was very friendly n helpful. We did not manage to get dinner due to train delays but the front staff was kind to inform us that we could purchase some cold sandwiches and he would make sandwiches for us. 😊 The room price includes breakfast for which we were glad. We enjoyed the breakfast thoroughly. The views from the hotel overlooking the St Ives beach is truly amazing. The hotel grounds were immaculately maintained. You must walk through their walled garden … it is well landscaped and very beautiful. It felt like walking in some professionally well curated botanical garden. 👍🏼

We stayed here for our minimoon and didn’t disappoint. The hotel is lovely as well as the staff and our view was absolutely stunning from our room. The bed was the comfiest bed I’ve slept in! The food was good and really enjoyed our cocktails (thank you to the bar man who remembered our cocktails and also made an effort to talk to us ☺️) . Location is great and lots to do/eat/drink around the area. We did the Eden project park run where you can then have free entry after which was really handy! Definitely recommend to stay here.

Lovely hotel on the Main Street. Very friendly and helpful staff. Dog friendly, breakfast was 10 pound for continental which included porridge and pancakes or 17 pounds for a full English which also included cereal, toast yoghurt etc. very happy with the choices. The room was spacious enough for a family of three with a teenager and the car park was also free for guests and right next to the hotel. I would stay here again.

Staff made you feel welcome from start. Used the pre paid parking on site, well worth it. The room was lovely and had views front and to the rear to see the sea and beach. The outside terrace beer garden was excellent. The breakfast was good. Full range of continental and cooked items i.e full English or pancakes etc. Good range of beers etc.

I really wanted to give a 4.5 here rather than a 4, the hotel is set in some lovely grounds with great views, there were 3 of us on tour with our bikes they were allowed to park very close to the hotel which was great. All the staff were fab that were front of house were friendly helpful and chatty, the unsung heroes of penmere are the kitchen staff the evening meal was fantastic and at breakfast although it's cooked to order some good quality produce was used, whatever you like for breakfast the choice is there in abundance. The only reason for not giving a 5star was the room, like others have said its tired and dated my room had a toilet with cheap plastic seat and had slightly sunk so it was at weird angle at the rear, the carpet had frayed under the window and the curtains didn't shut fully, they could also do with some security window locks on the ground floor didn't fancy sleeping with windows that could be fully opened from the outside which is probably bot good for some in the summer. Other than that it was a really good night's stay and can recommend and would stay here again.

The staff were lovely, very friendly, helpful and always greeted you with a hello and a smile. The room was ok but a little tired, there were slits in the flooring in the bathroom and the bath had chips in it. The sink cupboard doors were cracked and split. However this did not detract to much form what a was a lovely weekend. The pool was clean and warm and an added attraction especially on the Sunday when the weather was bad. The meal in the 60's bistro was ok and again the staff welcoming and friendly.

We enjoyed our stay here for our 25th wedding anniversary. Shame that wasn’t highlighted even though I mentioned it when booking. A ‘congratulations’ or a card or something would have been attentive. The receptionist was on auto pilot and rushed which didn’t feel welcoming. Other than that it was lovely, the room, the view, the food at the Jetty, the waiters.
