We had a lovely stay at Balgownie Estate. The room was spacious, very clean, and comfortable, with a relaxing balcony that offered a beautiful view of the stars at night. It really added a special touch to the stay. The breakfast buffet was generally okay, a decent selection to start the day, though not particularly outstanding. Overall, it’s a peaceful retreat in a great location, perfect for unwinding and enjoying the beauty of the Yarra Valley.

Really quiet location as it is right on the golf course. Great views over the ocean if you fancy a walk. Rooms have been newly refurbished with natural tones, soft lighting at headboard, comfortable bed with an array of pillows. Central light panel controls all room lighting - have a play! Really good desk space for work options, with desk light for ample lighting and power right there whilst working. No stretching of cords or having to share with the kettle. TV with great reception live TV. Spacious bathroom with toilet, large shower, large mirror and vanity space, 2 power points and sink. Reasonable water pressure and good temperature but could not tell which was hot or cold. Trial and error Breakfast included is good and tasty, basic with eggs, bacon, baked beans, hash browns and fried rice, selection of different toast and banana bread, coffee, tea, juices. Could probably do with some fresh fruit as well as an offering. Nice bush outlook at breakfast and plenty of seating. I had a corner room so my view was not the best - disappointing! The pool is beautiful and the spa is warm, even in the middle of August. I would come back but better view next time as the hotel was not full midweek. I would highly recommend a stay!

While the cleanliness was good, the daily housekeeping wasn’t available as listed on their website or yours for amenities.  We got an unprofessional answer from a staff member who on request gave us extra towels that due to salary/wages and time of year that daily housekeeping wasn’t being done. We stayed two nights and needed rubbish removed and sheets changed, also new towels, bath mat replaced daily. If we wanted to stay in self serviced apartments, fair enough, but we were staying in a hotel/resort without a kitchen sink to wash our wine glasses provided or the glasses etc.  I found that they left cleaning clothes and dish wash liquid under the bathroom sink which I think is wrong as due to health regulations, you don’t wash dishes in the bathroom sink. It’s a hotel not a self contained apartment.

We arrived late but we managed to pick up the keys. Thank you so much. The toilet in the room is very cold during the June period. The heater in the room doesn't cover that space. The water could also be a little warmer during winter. We had turned the tap to the max and found the water lukewarm.

This hotel was a pleasant surprise as a stopover from Melbourne to Cairns. It's very close to the airport and offers a free airport transfer service. The hotel is clean and tidy, with spacious rooms and wide beds. There's also a gym. The food in the restaurant is delicious and all free of charge. There's a big projector screen in the restaurant for movies, which is very enjoyable.

Nice room, however toilets kept blocking up every couple days and the showers could be a bit cleaner. There was one shower on our floor and 2 toilets which didn’t seem like enough. The vibe of the place is nice and the people

The hotel was clean and well-maintained, and the staff were friendly and provided great service. The facilities were also in good condition, making the stay quite comfortable. The location, however, was a bit far from the city’s CBD area, but getting there was still easy thanks to the nearby tram access. Overall, a good stay with only the distance being a small downside. good view at night if you get a good room.

I have 2 issues one is the check in and check out time 10 am check out is too early if check in is after 2pm . I wanted to purchase breakfast add on but was told not possible at food checkout even though they had terminal, had to go to reception to do , however reception said they could do at breakfast bar which I just came from !  Second at reception I informed them that my room would not be vacant rd until breakfast was consumed at 10.30 , no problems but upon returning to room it had been serviced at some of my belongings removed!! Our stay was a last minute booking. The venue and accommodation is just beautiful. Attention to detail in every aspect. We will definitely be back and next time for longer.

From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming, friendly, and helpful — they really made us feel at home. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, and we appreciated the thoughtful touches throughout. The facilities are excellent — from the relaxing outdoor areas to the well-equipped amenities, everything felt top-notch. Although our stay was short, it was the perfect little escape, and we left feeling refreshed.
