很多人去香港都会有同一个疑问：“到底要不要买八达通？” 我还记得我第一次去的时候也在思考这个问题，不过现在用过之后真的会觉得 “还好有买......“ 简单来说，八达通就是香港的 “万能储值卡 💳”，搭地铁、坐巴士、买东西、甚至在便利店吃个早餐都可以直接刷八达通（Octopus Card）。基本上你不用一直掏现金，也不用每次买票排队，直接 “滴” 一下就搞定 ✅。
还有一点最方便的是，八达通不只是交通卡，它在香港几乎是生活的一部分，所以就算是游客，用起来也会很快就上手。接下来我就用比较简单的方式，跟你分享一下八达通到底怎么用、值不值得买、还有一些我自己觉得很实用的小 tips。
🚇 八达通可以用在哪里？
我觉得八达通最厉害的地方，就是它除了可以拿来搭地铁，还可以拿来做很多的事 👍 基本上在香港的那几天，我几乎每天都在 “滴卡”，用到后面已经很习惯了 😂 不过最常用到八达通的地方当然还是交通：

- ⛴️ 渡轮
我相信很多人来到香港一定想每个地方都走一走，所以有时候一天要搭很多次车 🚆，如果每次都买票真的会很麻烦。有八达通的话，直接进站滴一下就能走，速度真的差很多。而且还有一点，香港很多巴士是不找零钱的，这点我第一次去的的时候有一点吓到 😂 所以如果你没有刚刚好的零钱的话，就会有点尴尬 😅 了。那除了交通之外，它其实还可以用来日常消费。像我自己最会用到的就是：

有时候只是想买水、买零食，直接刷八达通就好，不用一直换港币来用。其实就是把八达通当成 Touch ’n Go 来用，只是使用范围更广，而且你去到香港的时候可以发现到当地人真的几乎人手一张八达通。所以如果是第一次去香港，我会觉得八达通是 “必备品” 了。

A returning guest here! I'm not sure if it's because of the summer holiday, but it seems like all departments are so busy that some of the hygiene details aren't as good as before. As soon as I entered the room, before I even touched the bed, I found a short hair on the bedsheet (I have long hair, so it couldn't have been mine). Also, later that night, I wanted a drink and ordered some glasses, but they were incredibly dirty, as if they hadn't been washed at all (luckily, I hadn't had a drink yet). There are always staff members at the entrance to open doors, and they also deliver luggage to your room. I asked for some ice, and they brought me a whole bucket. The service is quite good. A few years ago, I visited Hong Kong and stayed at Cordis for the first time, absolutely loving it. This time around, there was no question, I chose Cordis again. It's in a prime Mong Kok location, super convenient for transportation and shopping. The hotel lobby connects directly to Langham Place, and just outside, you'll find SaSa, Mannings, DONKI, and Matsukiyo. Famous local eateries like Fei Jie and 18 Seats Doggy Noodles are also within a 10-minute walk. Langham Place's basement connects to the MTR Tsuen Wan Line, offering direct access to Yau Ma Tei, Tsim Sha Tsui, and Central without any transfers.
The hotel has been open for about ten years or so, and it's generally well-maintained, though of course, it can't compare to a brand new hotel – that's a matter of personal preference. A pleasant surprise this time was finding ice machines in the hallway on our floor. The room facilities are quite comprehensive, though having to stand in the bathtub for a shower is a minor drawback. The bedding is very comfortable, especially the pillows; I slept incredibly well. The front desk staff are all very nice, communicating in Mandarin, offering cold towels, and proactively greeting guests. However, the ground floor staff didn't offer to help with luggage proactively, which was a slight oversight. Mong Kok's travel ceiling! Royal Plaza Hotel made my entire Hong Kong trip comfortable and healing.
I stayed at the Royal Plaza Hotel throughout my self-guided trip to Hong Kong, and the overall experience far exceeded my expectations. I simply must write a detailed review.
The room was cleaned daily by dedicated staff, with impeccable hygiene control. The entire room was spotless, clean, and comfortable. The butler service was highly responsive and efficient; when I needed cutlery, it was delivered to the room instantly, which was very thoughtful. Every evening, I like to relax with a bath. The bathtub was clean and odorless. After a tiring day of travel, a hot bath washed away all the fatigue. Downstairs, there's direct access to Mui Wah Bing Tang, offering authentic Hong Kong-style food readily available and delicious, making dining out extremely convenient.
What surprised me most was the location: the hotel is seamlessly connected to Grand Century Place, and Mong Kok East Station is right outside. Taking the MTR to major popular spots like Ocean Park, Disneyland, Central, Tsim Sha Tsui, and Causeway Bay was a breeze, with no need to worry about transportation. In Hong Kong, where space is at a premium, the rooms are spacious and wide, providing maximum comfort, suitable for both family trips and solo travelers.
Two small, heartwarming suggestions for the hotel's improvement:
Currently, the cutlery and bowls provided are a bit small. It was slightly inconvenient when I occasionally cooked Samyang Buldak noodles at night. If larger instant noodle bowls could be added, it would better cater to the needs of young guests. Also, if a stainless steel caddy could be installed on the bathtub, allowing for a glass of wine, aromatherapy, or a book while bathing, the ambiance and experience would be even better.
Overall, it's impeccable. Hardware, service, and location are all top-notch. I will prioritize choosing this hotel again for my next trip to Hong Kong. I sincerely recommend it to all visitors to Hong Kong!DariPHP 7,846

I stayed for three nights. On the first day, my flight was delayed by 4 hours, and I arrived at 4 AM. The front desk staff was on duty and processed my check-in quickly. We weren't planning to stay in the hotel much except for sleeping, so staying here was good value for money and very convenient.
Service: When booking this hotel, the price for a room varied depending on the number of people. I suggest paying attention to this. I made a mistake and wanted to cancel and rebook, but the hotel's reservations department wouldn't allow cancellations. I ended up paying about 100 HKD more per room. I figured it wasn't worth ruining the trip's mood. When we arrived at the hotel, the front desk attendant upgraded our room type, I think. Our family of two adults and two children booked two king rooms, which were quite spacious. If it had been twin beds, I guess it would still have been okay for a family of four? I'm not sure.

Before booking, I was hesitant due to multiple reviews mentioning discriminatory treatment from the hotel staff. However, upon arrival, I found the staff to be very dedicated and proactive in greeting guests and offering assistance. What's even better is the hotel's excellent location. The main entrance is right by Tsim Sha Tsui MTR Station Exit L3, and Exit F is just a minute's walk away. The Peninsula Hotel is directly opposite the main entrance. Turning right leads to numerous dining options, while a three-to-five-minute walk to the left takes you to the Avenue of Stars (Victoria Harbour Goddess statue), K11, and Harbour City, making shopping very convenient. Of course, the hotel's decor is a bit dated, and the room types can't compare to those on the mainland, with smaller room sizes. Cleanliness: The interior of the guest room and the hotel lobby were clean and well-maintained. The cleaning staff were also very nice.
Facilities: Oh, the Wi-Fi in the room was a bit elusive with a poor signal. However, the air conditioning was very powerful, and the bedding was fantastic. I had a very comfortable stay in my king-size room.

My sister stayed at this hotel three years ago, and now I'm here with her! The room is very comfortable, and the sea view room offers a wide vista. Sophia at the front desk kindly provided a North Point tourist map, which included attractions and food recommendations. With the coupons, we could redeem free food at designated merchants – a novel North Point experience that my sister didn't get to enjoy during her previous stay. On the morning of our check-out, we went swimming, but initially couldn't find the pool because we went in the wrong direction. We asked a cleaning auntie on the 16th floor, who very enthusiastically helped us, and we then realized the pool was in the East Wing across the way.🤣 While passing through the lobby, we noticed two different elevators going in different directions. James Yun helped us by guiding us to our destination. We ended up having a wonderful time swimming and playing in the pool. When we returned from swimming, we found out the pool had been temporarily closed due to a thunderstorm warning. We were so lucky! If we had gone a little later, we wouldn't have been able to swim! Great value for money. The room was comfortable, clean, and well-soundproofed, so I slept very well during my stay.
The location is excellent. You can easily walk to the hotel from West Kowloon Station with your luggage, but make sure to check the route beforehand. Basically, exit at F, follow the signs towards Austin Road, and the check-in is in the lobby of the Scout Centre building. If you follow the route correctly, it's about a 15-minute walk, mostly through underground passages, so you're out of the sun.
The hotel is next to Kowloon Park, and diagonally opposite there's a 7-Eleven. To the left of the 7-Eleven, downstairs, is a more affordable Wellcome supermarket, where you can find fruits, drinks, and daily necessities.
It's convenient to get to many places from here. Both the city view and the sea view are quite nice, and the morning sky with the city view is beautiful.
On my last day, I accidentally dropped a skincare sample into the sink drain. I couldn't get it out myself, so I called housekeeping. A maintenance worker came up quickly and resolved the issue very fast, with a cleaning lady accompanying him the whole time.
When checking my luggage for storage, they only asked for the room number and the number of bags. Luggage storage is free, no extra charges.

The hotel is stylish, and my room only had a shower, no bathtub. Toiletries like toothbrushes and shampoo are provided. There's a pool on the 3rd floor, and on the 12th floor, there are stairs leading to the rooftop. The rooftop feels like a small gym or park, and there's even some grass that looks like you could play putting golf on it. However, it's too hot in the summer for any real training up there.

The location is between Wan Chai and Causeway Bay. There's a bus stop right outside the hotel, though it wasn't for our specific destinations. On Hong Kong Island, we usually head to Hennessy Road to catch the tram, which can take you to Central, Sheung Wan, and Sai Wan. For Kowloon, the Wan Chai and Causeway Bay MTR stations are nearby. You can also walk ten to fifteen minutes to take the Star Ferry to Tsim Sha Tsui. For the airport or the Hong Kong Port of the HZMB, the A11 bus stop is a ten-minute walk away. Coming from the airport or HZMB Hong Kong Port, the A11 stops on Hennessy Road at D'Aguilar Street, and it's a five-minute walk to the hotel. Charging: The room was equipped with a converter, charging ports, and charging cables, which showed great attention to detail. I had forgotten my headphone charging cable this time and was worried if my headphones would last for three days on the trip, but all that anxiety vanished once I entered the room.
Shower: The water pressure in the shower was incredibly strong, making for a refreshing shower. This was a pleasant surprise for a hotel with 45 years of history.
Breakfast: Very rich and varied, with many types of meat. The staff in all departments were very proactive, and the dishes were delicious. There were Chinese, Western, Japanese, and Southeast Asian options, so I'd give it full marks.

I was quite apprehensive before checking in because I'd seen some mediocre reviews. We stayed for one night in a twin room and six nights in a triple room. Finally ticked off The Peninsula Hong Kong, the 'Grand Dame of the Far East,' from my bucket list for my birthday trip. The hotel exudes a warm, vintage, understated luxury. The afternoon tea experience was delightful; the dim sum was exquisite, and the service was proactive. For my birthday, they arranged a window seat, and even provided sparkling wine and a birthday candle. Dinner at Felix was excellent: the baked escargot, grilled octopus, seafood paella, and wagyu steak were all delicious. Aside from the house wine being a bit disappointing (terrible value), enjoying the food with a view of Victoria Harbour at night was a truly great experience. The hotel also gifted a birthday cake, which was of very high quality. Despite its bustling city location, I was pleasantly surprised by how incredibly quiet the room was. There was absolutely no street noise, and I couldn't hear any sounds from the hallway either. They've clearly put a lot of effort into soundproofing, better than any other luxury hotel I've stayed in. The hotel itself is connected to high-end boutiques like Goyard, LV, Chanel, and Chrome Hearts. Downstairs, there's a large and well-stocked Italian food supermarket offering a curated selection of Italian delicacies and ingredients, definitely worth exploring and stocking up – I almost wanted to ship a load home! The Peninsula Boutique gifts were also nice, and the staff were exceptionally friendly, even offering instant photos. I had read reviews complaining about cold front desk staff and unfriendliness towards mainland guests, but every single staff member we encountered, including the female front desk agent during check-in, was friendly, enthusiastic, and proactively helpful, which I found very touching. The room's furniture was a bit old-fashioned and plain, but the electronics were impressive. While we were in line waiting, a guest became quite loud and unreasonable, complaining about not being registered or offered a drink. Joey handled the situation with unbelievable composure and grace. Despite the guest’s rudeness, Joey remained exceptionally polite and professional throughout. Immediately after resolving the issue, she walked over to arrange our welcome drinks and even took the time to introduce the name and origin of the white wine I wanted to try. Her attentiveness and crisis handling were deeply impressive!

The hotel is situated in an area with supermarkets, pharmacies, McDonald's, and various shops, making it very convenient for any needs. On the ground floor, there are numerous restaurants offering all kinds of cuisines, even pizza. Additionally, there are bars in the lobby where you can enjoy a drink if it's raining or you don't want to go out; truly, everything you need is already within the hotel. The room is spacious considering Hong Kong standards: I was able to open a large suitcase on the floor and move comfortably around the bed. We always stay here in Imperial Hotel whenever we are in HK due to its prime location. The staffs have been familiarized with us as we visit at least twice a year. We were always given a good room and our latest stay is the best that we had. We were given the highest floor with the overlooking view of the harbour. It is so pretty especially at night. The hotel's decor is a bit dated, but the cleanliness was quite good. They also offer a free shuttle bus service to Langham Place (Mong Kok area). My only complaint is that there was no hot water for showering – seriously, no hot water! The water pressure was very weak, and the temperature barely reached 40 degrees Celsius. It was only slightly warm if you stood right under the showerhead, but more than 5 centimeters away and it was cold. It's been rainy and chilly these past few days, so coming back from sightseeing to shower with such a weak stream of lukewarm water was unbearable. I reported it to the hotel, and they said it was due to many people using the water, causing the temperature to drop. 1. The location is excellent. It's just a few minutes to the Science Museum and History Museum, and about 10 minutes to the Avenue of Stars. It's only one subway stop from West Kowloon, making immigration very convenient. There are many eateries near the hotel with reasonable prices, and the surrounding environment is quite pleasant, with a large plaza right downstairs.
2. The staff were polite and had a good service attitude. Check-in and check-out were smooth, and no deposit was required.
3. The room was clean and hygienic; I stayed for several nights and felt comfortable. The housekeeping auntie was very responsible.
4. Regarding online comments about the hotel facilities being a bit old, this is understandable given the hotel was built in the 90s and has a bit of a dated feel. Aside from the toilet flush button being a bit stiff and the water pipe connected to the toilet making some noise after each use, there were no major issues.

I really liked how spacious the room and the bathroom were, with both a standing shower and a bathtub. However, the room curtains were too thin and didn't block out the light. We were located near the footbridge, and there were always people jogging and walking along the waterfront promenade, morning and night. I also wondered if people outside could see into the hotel room. The bed was comfortable, but the pillows were too flat; even two stacked together felt too soft and squishy.
