What exactly is the Japan Rail Pass and what does it cover?

The Japan Rail Pass is a multi-use discount ticket valid for unlimited travel on almost all JR Group national trains, including local lines, limited express trains, and the Hikari or Sakura Shinkansen tickets. It also covers the Tokyo Monorail to Haneda Airport, select local JR buses, and the JR West Miyajima Ferry.

Understanding the precise coverage is crucial before you arrive. In Tokyo alone, the pass gives you unlimited loops on the famous JR Yamanote Line, connecting major hubs like Shibuya, Harajuku, and Ueno. If you are flying into Narita Airport (NRT), your pass fully covers the Narita Express (N'EX), instantly saving you about ¥3,000 (MYR 75) right out of the gate. For Kansai International Airport (KIX) arrivals, the Haruka Limited Express will whisk you straight to Kyoto Station or Tennoji Station for free.

Additionally, you gain access to the scenic Hida Wide View limited express train traversing the Japanese Alps toward Takayama, and the rapid Marine Liner crossing the Seto Inland Sea to Shikoku. These niche, hyper-scenic routes are where the pass truly shines for the adventurous traveler. Remember, the pass does not cover non-JR private railways, city subways, or the ultra-fast Nozomi and Mizuho Shinkansen classes without purchasing an expensive supplementary ticket. Stick to the fully covered trains, and you will get exactly where you need to go with zero extra out-of-pocket costs.

How much does the Japan Rail Pass cost in 2026?

A standard 7-day nationwide Japan Rail Pass costs ¥50,000 (approx. MYR 1,257) for adults and ¥25,000 (MYR 628) for children. The premium 7-day Green Car (First Class) pass costs ¥70,000 (MYR 1,759), offering larger seats, footrests, and guaranteed luggage space for premium travelers.

Since the nationwide price adjustment, maximizing your pass requires a bit of smart routing. Below is the official 2026 pricing for the nationwide passes, clearly mapped out in both Japanese Yen (JPY) and estimated Malaysian Ringgit (MYR). Note that infants under 6 travel for free if they sit on an adult's lap, while children aged 6 to 11 qualify for the 50% discounted child rate.

Is the Japan Rail Pass still worth it for your itinerary?

Yes, the Japan Rail Pass remains highly profitable if your itinerary involves multi-city, long-distance travel across regions. A classic Golden Route expanded to Hiroshima (Tokyo to Kyoto, then Hiroshima, Osaka, and back to Tokyo) typically costs ¥56,000 in individual Shinkansen tickets, making the ¥50,000 7-day pass a brilliant investment.

Let’s break down the real-world math. If your plan is strictly a one-way trip from Tokyo to Osaka, a single Shinkansen ticket costs around ¥14,720 (MYR 370). In that scenario, paying as you go is cheaper. However, savvy travelers know the real value lies in layering day trips and regional leaps.

Imagine basing yourself in Tokyo but taking a day trip to the alpine beauty of Karuizawa on the Hokuriku Shinkansen, followed by a journey down to Kyoto Station on the Tokaido Shinkansen. Throw in a trip on the JR Nara Line to see the Fushimi Inari Taisha shrine, and a high-speed dash down to Hakata Station in Fukuoka. Your individual ticket costs will quickly exceed ¥65,000 (MYR 1,634).

For a concrete example, a round trip from Tokyo to the ski resorts of Hokkaido via the Tohoku and Hokkaido Shinkansen lines would normally cost upwards of ¥46,000 (MYR 1,156) in standard individual fares. By layering just one more regional trip—like a journey from Hakodate to Sapporo—you instantly push your transit costs well past the ¥50,000 pass threshold. The math is simple: long-distance travel rewards pass holders exponentially. By choosing to buy JR Pass online, you immediately save massive amounts of money and completely bypass the hassle of queuing at ticket machines during rush hour.

Hotel staff are friendly, helpful and attentive. The bell boy who helped me with bringing my luggages to the room was very friendly and helpful, spoke good English too. Though not all staff spoke good English, they tried their best to assist me. Their service standard is consistent throughout. The room and the toilet was spacious and clean. There were 4 restuarants that I could go to for breakfast. The Garden Lounge which served buffet breakfast has a wide selection of food and drink. Most importantly the food was yummy! I enjoyed looking at the beautiful garden with waterfall view as I was seated by the window during breakfast.

Location of the hotel is excellent and is within close proximity to major establishments/shopping areas in the Ginza area. There is a convenient store (”Natural Lawson”) on the ground floor of the building. I booked the Standard Room with Queen Bed as I was worried that the Standard Room with Single Bed would be too cramped. I'm glad I made that decision. At about 20sq.m., the room is spacious and comfortable enough for one person but may be slightly cramped for a couple. Then again, hotel rooms in Japan tend to be small in general. Everything was clean and well maintained, and the amenities were sufficient. The lobby of the hotel is located on the 16/F of the building, and the guestrooms are located from 17/F up, so you get a very nice view of the Ginza area. I didn't try the breakfast on this trip, but I've heard nice things about that. Will definitely try that next time. Recommended.

So glad I booked the Imperial Hotel again! Compared to others, it really offers great value for money. Check-in time is 2 PM, but I arrived a little after 1 PM and was able to check in smoothly right away. This time I stayed on the 24th floor, and the view was absolutely fantastic. The room was quite spacious, with a viewing table by the window – perfect for enjoying food, drinks, and the scenery. The soundproofing in the room was decent, though I could still hear a rumbling sound when the tram passed downstairs. However, not many trams run late at night, so it didn't really affect my sleep. The room was very clean, and the entire hotel was spotless. The bathroom was spacious, and there was even a small stool in front of the vanity, which was a thoughtful touch. The shower pressure was excellent, making for a very comfortable shower; it almost felt like a massage. Overall, I was extremely satisfied and hope to stay here again next time!

I booked an Executive Floor room, which granted me complimentary access to the Executive Lounge. The city night view from there was absolutely stunning, a truly pleasant surprise! Another unexpected bonus was the free mini-bar in the room, stocked with beer, wine, and soft drinks. The Western breakfast on the 37th floor was à la carte and of excellent quality, and I thoroughly enjoyed the views while having breakfast. I will definitely choose to stay here again on my next trip to Tokyo.

I booked two rooms, and the panoramic king room was clearly superior and more comfortable. Although it only offered a partial view of the Tokyo Tower, the sunlight streaming in was very pleasant. The room was on a high floor, very clean, and spacious. The hotel's facilities were also well-maintained and felt quite new. A good choice, highly recommended! 👍

The hotel's location is superb, right next to Otemachi Station and Tokyo Station, connected by an underground passage. The Starbucks and chocolate shop on the first floor of the adjacent OAZO building are both good. It was a slight disappointment that the drug store wasn't open on the weekend, so I couldn't buy anything. There are a variety of restaurants upstairs; I had some delicious grilled eel rice, and the white asparagus, one of the two appetizers I added, was particularly tasty. Back to the hotel: if you plan to eat any meals, be sure to check the opening and last order times on the signs at the entrance. For instance, the Japanese breakfast on the 7th floor has a last order at 9:30 AM, and they won't serve you if you're late. Western breakfast is on the 8th floor, and takeout isn't allowed, though they did let me take two drinks back to my room after some discussion; food takeout isn't permitted for safety reasons. The room facilities are comprehensive and very clean. The slippers are comfortable, and the body lotion is excellent. The showerhead is great, and the bed is very comfortable too. In short, besides being a bit pricey, there are no complaints. The last picture shows the view of Tokyo Station from the elevator leading to the 7th-floor front desk.

The hotel definitely has a lot of history. Especially the South Wing where I stayed, the room had a 2000s guesthouse vibe. It was quite cramped for a family of three; with our luggage open, there was barely any space to move, so it was good we only stayed one night. There were many hotel staff, and check-in was very fast. There are plenty of convenience stores and coffee shops nearby, and it's a convenient 10-minute walk to Shinjuku Station.

I really enjoyed my stay at Hotel Gracery Ginza. The room was clean, modern, and comfortable, with everything I needed for a pleasant stay. The location is good, right near Ginza 2-chome. However, you have to walk about 7-8 minutes to get to any subway station, and Tokyo in the summer is incredibly hot, so you'll be sweating after just a couple of steps. Remember to protect yourself from the sun and heat! Check-in is on the third floor, and they offer free coffee every day from 2 PM to 11 PM. The chocolate and matcha lattes are delicious. Our two large suitcases fit and could even be laid flat in the room. The room itself was clean, hygienic, and had no strange smells. You don't need to bring toiletries as you can pick them up at the front desk. Plus, there's a Starbucks, convenience store, and a drugstore downstairs.

Had a fantastic stay! The hotel's location is excellent, right next to the Rinkai Line, making it incredibly convenient for getting around, especially to Disney. The room facilities were well-equipped, and the cleanliness was top-notch; there were no unpleasant odors. Breakfast is served on the first floor. We stayed for five nights and went at different times, but on three of those days, we encountered a queue. If you're in a hurry, you might want to factor in some extra time.

Compared to other hotels I've stayed at in Japan, the Prince Hotel's rooms are quite spacious. When you open the curtains, Tokyo Tower is right there – it looks especially beautiful under the blue sky and white clouds, and the night view is a different kind of stunning! The front desk service was also excellent; we arrived before check-in time and just left our luggage with them while we went to explore Akihabara. The transportation is also super convenient. Next time I'm in Tokyo, I'm definitely staying at the Prince again! 🤗

First of all, location here is amazing. Walking distance to Age3, Cloud Matcha, Tonkatsu, Udon, a super nice ramen shop opposite of the hotel. The food scene at surrounding this hotel is amazing. If you’re not into eating in restaurants, walk a few mins more to Matsuya or Mitsukochi Dept store, go to their B1 B2 and get the food there and head back to hotel to eat. Food will still be warm! Room is small, but the spaces are sufficient to open up luggages, and still move around. I would say the hotel set up the spaces amazingly, where you can put your items near the entrance instead of concentrated on the bed area, which I think it seriously helps a lot when you want to leave certain things that you doesn’t need for a few days there. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for its location, value to price, and also amazing staff services. Thank you!

The Urban Hotel is nestled in the northwest part of Tokyo's political hub, Chiyoda City. It boasts a superb location with 5 subway lines connecting nearby, offering a tranquil and pleasant environment. The closest subway station is Akasaka-mitsuke Station, served by the Ginza and Marunouchi lines. If you're arriving via these lines, you can use exits D or 7 of the Akasaka underground street. For those on the Namboku line, Nagatacho Station's exit 9 is recommended. If you're coming on the Hanzomon or Yurakucho lines, exit 5 is your best bet. The single rooms at this hotel feature spacious beds with incredibly soft mattresses. Bath amenities are plentiful, and the breakfast spread is generous. Overall, it offers excellent value for money. I absolutely have to praise this hotel! As is typical in Tokyo, the rooms are small but perfectly adequate for all your needs. The cleanliness is significantly better than what you'd find in China, by more than just a little bit. The room was cleaned daily, and there wasn't a single hair in the bathroom. But my absolute favorite part? It's right across from the subway station! I'm definitely booking this place again next time I'm in Tokyo.

The service was incredible. We were greeted at every turn with kindness and professionalism. Our only request would be that our 14yo mature daughter could have swam in the pool (it’s 18+ which we didn’t know until we tried to swim.) A few standouts where the hotel team went “above and beyond”: the superb cleanliness of our room, the porter and bellhop service, the concierge personally walking us down to the ballroom to ask if we could get spectator ballroom competition tickets last minute, the team allowing us to be seated us at breakfast at 10:27am when we were mistakenly told on the “express line” that it was served until 11am; and then even re-opening the omelette station for us. And finally, helping us reclaim a missing object left at our breakfast table—about 6 people jumped in to help us and saved the day! Thank you Cerulean, for the incredible stay, views, and above all, service.

It was 5:30 PM in Otemachi, Tokyo, and a massive halo, like a holy light, enveloped the area, reflecting the silhouette of the world's most beautiful CBD on the glass facade of Otemachi Tower. Perched atop this magnificent skyscraper, Aman Tokyo, which stunned the world a decade ago, remains an unparalleled benchmark for modern city hotels. |The soaring 30-meter high atrium, crafted with washi lanterns, wood textures, and concrete and rock, creates a 'dry landscape' garden in the urban clouds. |The view facing the Imperial Palace is arguably Tokyo's most beautiful skyline (it ruthlessly trumps the already impressive view from the neighboring Bulgari). |While the ambiance at Arva, the Italian restaurant on the other side of the lobby, is superb, the food wasn't to my taste. I'd recommend the Aman Cafe on the first floor, a glasshouse enveloped by the 'Otemachi Forest' oasis instead.

[HOSHINOYA Tokyo: A Vertical Ryokan Experience] HOSHINOYA Tokyo offers a truly unique concept. It is a traditional Japanese ryokan built vertically within a modern skyscraper, located in the prestigious Otemachi district. It provides a serene, luxurious escape right in the middle of the bustling city, perfectly blending classic ryokan hospitality with world-class modern design. We enjoyed a wonderful three-day, two-night stay at the property from 29 May to 31 May. We chose not to make any meal reservations, which gave us the flexibility to simply relax and explore the surrounding city. [Getting There] We travelled from Fufu Hakone via a day trip to Enoshima and Kamakura. We took a direct train from Kamakura to Tokyo Station, followed by a short walk to the hotel, and arrived at around 8:00 PM. To make the transit completely effortless, our luggage was picked up and delivered directly to the hotel by LuggAgent on the same day. [Arrival and Check-In] The hotel is situated in the central business district and distinctly stands out from the surrounding buildings. The discreet entrance completely shields you from the busy streets. Upon entering, staff immediately store your shoes, as the entire tatami-matted building operates on a barefoot or socks-only policy. We were incredibly lucky to catch a traditional jap instrument performance, which is usually reserved for weekends. A designated staff member managed our check-in with welcome snack & tea and escorted us to level 15. A major highlight is the exclusive lounge on each floor, shared by only 6 suites. It functions as a private living room, fully stocked with complimentary seasonal teas, coffees, and traditional snacks. [The Suite] We stayed in the Sakura suite. Rather than trying to describe the beautiful layout in words, I will let my photos speak for themselves. The beds are low to the floor with a mid-level hardness that we found quite comfortable, and each bed comes with two soft pillows. There is also a television cleverly hidden behind a mirror, though it is worth noting that it only broadcasts Japanese channels. We kept it switched off to maintain the consistent traditional ryokan feel. The provided yukata is absolutely superb. It comes as a full set complete with an inner layer, an outer layer, socks, and a small handbag. The material is soft, stretchy, and incredibly comfortable for lounging and walking around the property. [The Top-Floor Onsen] Having a natural hot spring in central Tokyo is a rare luxury. The onsen is located on the 17th floor and features a stunning design where the roof is open to the sky. As cameras are strictly prohibited, you will have to visualise it or check the hotel website for gallery photos. I understand that the bath is a salty hot spring containing a high concentration of seawater and seaweed minerals trapped deep in the ground. Soaking in this soothing water gently embraces the skin and helps alleviate fatigue in both body and mind. The onsen is open daily from 3:00 PM to 11:30 AM. It was the absolute perfect way to warm up and recharge before we headed out for a busy day. [Areas for Improvement] Toothbrush Set: The provided toothbrush is far too small and takes ages to use. I strongly recommend bringing your own.

I visited Tokyo with my 88-year-old father. The hotel’s location is arguably the absolute best, making it incredibly convenient to visit Tokyo’s major attractions. The hotel facilities were also highly satisfying. First and foremost, the amenities in the guest room were excellent, and the thoughtful accessibility considerations for the elderly or infirm gave us great peace of mind. For instance, the provision of a bath chair with a backrest was very impressive. The hygiene and meticulous housekeeping were of the highest standard. Furthermore, the non-slip mat provided in the bathroom clearly reflected a deep consideration for the guests' specific needs. All of this, of course, is a testament to the staff’s proactive service and attentive care. If there was one minor disappointment, I wish a wider variety of pillows had been available in the room. In this regard, I felt it fell slightly short of meeting guests' diverse preferences. Additionally, as a helpful suggestion for safety, designing bathroom doors to open outward to facilitate emergency access in case of an accident inside is a fundamental design principle for luxury hotels. While preventing accidents altogether is ideal, being fully prepared for emergencies is what sets the highest standard of excellence. On another note, despite the hotel being located within a major railway station, there was absolutely no noise. The soundproofing was truly remarkable. The breakfast offered a rich and diverse selection, beautifully balancing traditional Japanese cuisine with Western options. While ordering a more unique or specialized beverage took a bit of time, the quality and taste were highly satisfying. The other facilities, particularly the restaurants and cafes, were exceptionally calm, elegant, and quiet, providing a very pleasant experience. The food, of course, tasted excellent. However, you must ensure you have ample time to enjoy it; it can require a significant amount of time and patience before the food is served in front of you. Overall, our experience was exceptionally satisfying and wonderful. With its rich historical background and narrative, the hotel offered a deeply engaging and far from boring stay.

Right by Odaiba Station, making transportation, shopping, and dining very convenient. The room was spacious with a great view; you could see the monorail from the window, but there was virtually no noise. The main downside was the outdated bathroom, which lacked a separate shower and toilet. Also, some of the staff's service quality needs improvement. I saw an impressive advertisement for the buffet and wanted to try it. When I went to the restaurant, it was empty, so I went back to the lobby to ask a staff member. They simply told me the restaurant was on the first floor. Thinking I'd gone to the wrong place, I checked again. I asked another staff member, and got a similar vague answer, completely ignoring my question about why the restaurant wasn't open. Finally, I asked a female attendant by the elevator, and only then found out that the first-floor restaurant isn't open for dinner every night. It makes you wonder what the other staff members were doing...

Loved it! The room was clean and tidy with a well-designed layout. The kitchen was fully equipped with all the utensils and cookware you could need for breakfast and even full meals. The washing machine has both wash and dry functions, so no need to bring home a pile of dirty laundry. The surrounding area is very quiet, and it's within walking distance to Shin-Marunouchi, KITTE, LABI, and BIC CAMERA. A summer evening stroll by the Imperial Palace is also incredibly relaxing. The transportation is super convenient; the hotel is right above the C6A subway exit, with direct access to the Hanzomon Line, Chiyoda Line, and Marunouchi Line, getting you straight to Omotesando, Shibuya, and Ginza. The only minor downside is the lack of a scenic view from the window; aside from the rooms facing the Imperial Palace, you mostly just see the office buildings across the way.

This hotel is in central Tokyo and it's really huge, bugger than The Okura. But the location isn't good for tourists. The nearest subway stations to go anywhere are a 12min walk away and the nearest konbini is also a 7min walk. The hotel itself has many restaurants and has a nice garden. The room I chose was spacious but the TV is facing the side of the bed rather than the front so watching TV wasn't convenient. Service was good. When I checked in the staff brought all my bags to my room with me and asked me if I needed anything. They also have turn down service in the evenings. Provided numerous towels.

Though small, this hotel has everything you need. Its Ginza location is incredibly convenient, perfect for shopping or quickly getting to Narita Airport via the expressway. What truly impressed me is how many features are packed into such a compact space. They have a coin-operated laundry and a large public bath. The room, which I'd estimate at about 20 square meters, even managed to fit bunk beds (1.2m/1.5m), making it very family-friendly. A minor point is that since the hotel is directly above the subway, you occasionally feel vibrations as trains pass. This led to a funny moment when an actual earthquake hit at night, and I initially thought it was just another train going by!

I chose this hotel because of its location (10-15 min walk from nearest train station) and the onsen. There is a 7-11 conveniently located right across the hotel which is perfect for a quick breakfast / supper. The hotel’s onsen operates from 6AM-10AM and 3PM-2AM. It was so nice to take a dip in the warm onsen and enjoy the Tokyo skyline after a full day of walking. Would highly recommend if you are looking for a hotel in Shinjuku area that offers some peace amidst the hustle and bustle!

This isn't our first time staying at the Onyado Nono chain. We've previously stayed in Nara. The hotel is located in the Asakusa area, a 5-minute walk from Senso-ji Temple. The rooms are very clean. Natural hot springs with black water are available. After bathing, they offer ice cream. Complimentary evening noodles are also included. The breakfast is excellent – tuna and salmon roe!

Staying at Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo, which blends a century-old Japanese garden with lavish decor, was an experience of a unique 'urban oasis' environment, exceptional service, and rich culture. The garden views are stunning, with mist released at various times, creating a dreamlike 'sea of clouds' effect. The rooms are spacious, combining European classical style with subtle Japanese aesthetic details. The only downside is the less-than-ideal transportation convenience.

And the breakfast here is sushi! Oh my goodness, that truly won me over!

This is a reasonably priced hotel in Tokyo where you can enjoy a hot spring bath. It's not simply a 'downgrade' alternative to a Dormy Inn; Super Hotel has its own unique charm. While the rooms aren't large, the space is efficiently utilized. You can slide a large suitcase under the bed, which effectively creates a lot more room. You can also choose your own pillow. The room uses a password entry system, so you don't have to worry about losing your key card. The hot bath was very comfortable too. The surrounding area is full of traditional Japanese charm, which is quite interesting. I even had a heated argument with a few elderly 'rebellious' ladies... Of course, Ikebukuro itself has plenty of places to explore. Tobu Duty-Free offers tax-free shopping without any processing fees, and there's often a long queue, likely for Montbell. Personally, I'd recommend the Montbell in Kagoshima, as they have more discounts. From Ikebukuro, you can use your JR pass to visit Kawagoe and Omiya, which are less crowded than Tokyo and also great for exploring.

Next to a Tokyo metro exit, but that exit is a few minutes from the platform. There is an elevator connecting the ground floor of the exit to the underground tunnel. However, as you walk to the end of the tunnel (i.e. the gates), there are only stairs to the platform. Typical dormy inn set up. Compact room. Spa on the top floor. The water is not hot spring water though. No massage chair as well, but you get free ice cream in the afternoon/evening and yogurt drink in the morning.

Had a pleasant 3-night stay compared to a previous Airbnb experience, appreciating the availability of a dehumidifier. However, do note that if you have luggage larger than 25 inches, it might be difficult to open because the room is quite small.

Whether you're catching the Shinkansen or just commuting around the city, getting around is a breeze. The room was spotlessly clean and tidy, with meticulous housekeeping. Everything felt fresh and odor-free, and the bathroom was dry and comfortable. For a central Tokyo location, the room layout was well-organized and fully equipped, offering a peaceful retreat in the heart of the bustling city. Excellent location — just next to Shijo (四条) and beside the Kamo River (鸭川). I did my morning run along the river and easily completed a 10km round trip. Across the bridge is Gion, and on the opposite main road is Kyoto Takashimaya. All the shopping areas are within easy walking distance. The staff were very friendly, and the hotel is beautifully built on the site of a former primary school, which gives it a unique character. There are two cafés on Level 1 — one of them is the popular Blue Bottle Coffee. There are also two Western dining options on Level 1. Level 8 offers a lovely view and features the front desk, bar, and hotel restaurant, making it a great place to relax. Will definitely come back again!!

Very good location close to a subway station, with a nearby subway exit also having a lift, so luggage isn’t a problem. But you are better off going across the road, perhaps a 4-min walk, to the Marriott Courtyard close by where there is the airport bus stop which can take you to Haneda and Narita. Breakfast variety is limited; you can select a choice of Jap or Western Main, along with a few other buffet options. Room size is ok. Public bath’s pool is small but definitely not the smallest I have seen. Different staff to communicate with you in the usual foreign languages.

Stayed for four nights and was very satisfied. The front desk staff spoke good English and were friendly. The room wasn't small for Tokyo, and the booth seating was very convenient. They provided various skincare products and mineral water, which were replenished daily. On the 14th floor, there's a tea break area with free cookies and drinks, and also a spa, though the prices are quite expensive compared to back home. The room had a fridge, safe, and iron, and the view was excellent. I heard some rooms even have a view of Tokyo Tower. The breakfast had a wide variety. The only thing I didn't like was having to shower in the bathtub.

When we first tried to check in at 1 PM, there was an older lady with big eyes at the front desk who wasn't very friendly. However, by 3 PM when we actually checked in, a super kind and gentle man was at the front desk. He even gave us a high-floor room with a view of Tokyo Tower! The room was a bit old but reasonably well-maintained, and the cleanliness was okay. However, the automatic flush on the bidet toilet was very dirty, so I didn't use it. Also, I stayed for 4 nights, and while my child's bed didn't have bugs, on my first night, I felt something like dust mites jumping on me. After 4 nights, I had about 8-9 bites around my waist and stomach. I was really unhappy about this; I suspect it was bed bugs due to the old age of the mattress and duvet inserts. The picture is after applying mosquito balm, so the redness has gone down a bit; originally, they were red and raised. On the plus side, the toiletries were L'Occitane, and the airport bus stop for the return journey is just a 3-minute walk across what I assume is the southern road to the main bus terminal. There's a new Lawson across the street, and a 7-Eleven just a few steps away. Two drugstores are within a 5-minute walk. The subway entrance downstairs is convenient for going to Disneyland. For other places, you generally have to walk about 8 minutes to another Hibiya Line station to get to Shibuya, Akihabara, and other areas.

I come to Tokyo several times a year, staying a fortnight or more each time. This time I spent seven nights at The Capitol Hotel Tokyu. The room faced Hie Shrine. Through the floor-to-ceiling windows I could see the shrine's copper roof and half of Tokyo's skyline. The décor was modern without excess; the layout flowed easily, Bose speakers hidden in the walls, another set in the bathroom ceiling, connected by a 3.5mm jack. The curtains were motorized, though you hardly needed to close them. The turndown service. I would leave in the evening and return late to find the room changed: only the hallway light and bedside lamp left on, a bottle of water and a glass on the nightstand, two chocolates beside them. The evening tea and teacup, previously stored in the cabinet, had been moved next to the coffee machine. These changes were so slight you had to think back carefully to confirm they had happened at all. The temperature and humidity had been adjusted. As if the room itself remembered your habits. Room service fell short of the ryokan in Hakone or Lake Toya, but well above the ordinary hotel. Each day I made two or three cups of complimentary coffee, played music, read, wrote. In seven days I finished three books. The research ahead began to take shape. There were drawbacks. No washing machine, but a decent laundromat ten minutes' walk away—a chance to wander the streets of Akasaka. The room provided HDMI and ethernet ports but no cables; for those who came to rest, perhaps a mercy. The minibar fridge was mostly occupied by drinks for purchase, same as the Imperial, though there was still room for my sparkling water. The day I left it was half past five and fully dark. I could barely make out the faces of the bellhop and the taxi driver. Together they loaded my luggage into the boot. I wished the bellhop a happy new year in Japanese and told her I liked her hat. She smiled and returned the greeting. As the taxi pulled out of the underground drive, I thought of the inns Kawabata once wrote about: what had to be sought in the mountains of snow country can now be reached by elevator from the B2 exit of a metro station. I have watched the Shinagawa Prince Hotel loosen quietly over time, slip a little. That kind of decline is rarely one great error. It begins the day someone forgets to leave a glass of water, neglects to move a packet of tea, omits a newspaper. As for The Capitol Hotel Tokyu: in Japanese, what I experienced over these seven days is called ちょうどいい.

The room was quite small, basically just a place to sleep. You could open your suitcase, but it made the space feel a bit cramped. The room's amenities weren't very new. The only thing I found really practical was the spacious vanity, which was great for putting things down. However, I wouldn't say it was easy to do makeup, as the whole bathroom was quite basic, lacking a proper vanity light or mirror. Although this hotel came up as one of the top three (I think it was the first) when I searched for Shinjuku area accommodations, the closest subway station is actually Nishi-Shinjuku. It takes about a fifteen-minute walk to get to Shinjuku JR Station. There aren't many convenience stores nearby, as the hotel is located above the metropolitan government building. There were even some homeless people in the vicinity (?). The hotel staff automatically provide service in English, which made communication much smoother than in many other Japanese hotels. The guests were also predominantly Westerners. The most impressive part of the entire hotel was probably the grand lobby. Overall, the service was fine, but next time, I'd probably use a similar budget to stay at a different five-star hotel.

I originally wanted to book the hotel room type I stayed in for the first few nights, but it showed as fully booked, so I could only reserve this more expensive club twin room. It turns out the more expensive experience was not as good as the basic room type I had before, and I didn't feel it was any better. Moreover, when I checked in, I found that the room type that was shown as unavailable when I booked was actually available that day, and there were quite a few of them, at a cheaper price too. I'm not sure what Ctrip means by playing these games, and I'm very unhappy about it.

We are a family of 4 with 2 young kids aged 12 and 11, and had a 2 twin bed room with a rollaway bed at the hotel. Overall the experience was good with very prompt and polite service staff. Note that the 5th floor Spa doesn't allow kids below the age of 16 to use the Spa facilities so our kids did not get to enjoy them, but the swimming pool and the hot jacuzzi made up for that. Food was excellent and the location was good with connecting malls to the train station, although it was a challenge to figure out the different lines to go to and take note of the distance to them so that if you are bringing old folks please factor the walking required.

Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Otemachi | A Stay with Both Excitement and Disappointment When I chose the Four Seasons Tokyo at Otemachi, I was incredibly excited – in my mind, Japan represents the pinnacle of service, and the Tokyo Four Seasons should be the benchmark. However, this stay made me rethink the meaning of “top-tier.” First, the highlights: * The staff, from reception to management, were genuinely warm and enthusiastic, and their English proficiency was excellent for Japan. * The room amenities, bedding, and cleanliness were all top-notch. The welcome gift was particularly thoughtful – a Tokyo Tower jigsaw puzzle cookie with Mount Fuji in the background, a delightful surprise. * The room cleaning was very thorough and meticulous. A convenience store and subway station were right downstairs, and the area around the Imperial Palace was quiet and convenient. However, the problems were equally prominent, largely concentrated in the two core aspects: “sleep” and “dining.” Regarding “Sleep” – Noise and Room Assignment Flaws I specifically requested an Imperial Palace view room and was assigned room 3803. Although the view was partially obstructed by a helipad, it was acceptable. However, at 5:30 AM the next day, loud banging noises started coming from upstairs. After complaining, I learned it was due to weights being dropped in the gym. Even more frustrating, at exactly 9 AM, the doorbell rang – a cleaning staff member who didn't speak English wanted to enter to clean the room. I have never had my doorbell rung to rush cleaning during a stay, and the promised “seamless service” was completely gone. The duty manager was very polite, admitted the noise was not an isolated incident, and proactively offered a room change. But at 5:36 AM the next day, the loud noises woke me up again. It then dawned on me: if the hotel knew about the noise issue with this room type, why didn't they ask if I minded when I checked in? Why was it specifically assigned to a Chinese family with children? This “侥幸” (chance-taking/luck-testing) attitude was disheartening. Regarding “Dining” – Michelin Restaurant Denies Children, Hair in Room Service Food A big reason for choosing the Otemachi Four Seasons was its Michelin-starred French restaurant, saving us the hassle of going out. However, when trying to book at the front desk, we were told they don't accommodate children under 12, dashing our hopes. We then ordered room service. The delivery was quick, and the menu was well-illustrated, but I found a hair in my food – in Japan, at the Four Seasons, this was simply unacceptable. After multiple complaints, management waived the dining charges. Their attitude was polite, but the speed and solution compared to similar-level hotels domestically were not superior, and the complaint process was quite convoluted. Other details: The duvet cover and duvet easily separated, leading to an uncomfortable sleep. The TV only had one Chinese channel, and most programs were in Japanese. For transportation, the entrance was somewhat hidden, requiring concierge assistance for taxis. Summary: The Four Seasons’ service etiquette was impeccable, but the fundamental aspects of a quality hotel – “sleeping well” and “eating well” – were not met. Especially the failure to disclose the known noise problem beforehand raises questions about management’s customer care. Sincerity might be in the attitude, but it should be more profoundly reflected in processes and details. I hope my experience provides a reference for other travelers, and I look forward to genuine improvements from the hotel.

Pros: the duty manager Mai who is fluent in English and demonstrated outstanding attentiveness and a genuine dedication to hospitality. She took the time to truly understand my specific needs and thoughtfully arranged the perfect room for me. To be quite honest, this level of personalized care and attention to detail is something rarely encountered in the hospitality industry nowadays. I was both deeply impressed and delightfully surprised by this experience. Cons: regarding the housekeeping service during my stay, While I appreciate that the bedsheets were changed diligently, the overall cleanliness and attention to detail have been highly disappointing. Instead of clearing the room, the housekeeper consistently left trash behind after cleaning. Day1 The housekeeper actually stuffed a piece of paper waste into the room card slot. Day 2 The trash remained unclean. Day 3 The housekeeper even left their own dirty cleaning towel right next to the bathroom sink. (see the picture) As a guest, I expected a high standard of hygiene and professionalism, but these incidents have made my stay quite uncomfortable.

Review: Remm Roppongi (レム六本木) Our stay at Remm Roppongi was very enjoyable and a great base for exploring Tokyo. The hotel’s location is absolutely one of its biggest strengths — it’s just steps from Roppongi Station, surrounded by restaurants, shops, and nightlife, and in a vibrant part of the city that’s easy to explore on foot or by subway. The rooms are clean, modern, and thoughtfully designed, with free Wi-Fi and comfort in mind. Although the rooms are on the smaller side, as is common in Tokyo, clever layout and features like a massage chair made the space very comfortable for relaxing after long days of sightseeing. One of the memorable parts of our stay was the night view — higher-floor rooms offer beautiful city and Tokyo Tower views, which was a highlight of the experience. The staff were friendly and professional, always ready to help with requests, and check-in/out was smooth. Guest reviews consistently praise how attentive and polite the team is. Breakfast (optional buffet) has a nice variety and was delicious — a great way to start the day before heading out. On the flip side, there’s no bathtub in most rooms, so if you really want a bath it might not be ideal, and the hotel doesn’t have extensive facilities like a spa or gym — but for a city stay where the focus is exploring Tokyo, it’s perfect. Overall, Remm Roppongi offers excellent comfort, great convenience, and a high-quality experience for a business or leisure trip in Tokyo, especially if you value location and a modern, comfortable room to return to each evening.

Their genuine hospitality, professionalism, and willingness to assist with every request made us feel truly welcomed and well taken care of. Thank you for making our stay so pleasant and memorable. We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to the housekeeping team. They did an amazing job every single day. Whenever we returned to our room, it was always spotless, fresh, and beautifully made up. Their dedication and attention to detail deserve special recognition. The location is simply unbeatable! The hotel is only about a 3-minute walk to the famous Ginza shopping district, where you’ll find countless luxury boutiques, department stores, cafés, and restaurants. The hotel boasts an excellent location near Tokyo Station, specifically the Yaesu exit. You can navigate through the underground mall, take an elevator to ground level, and once outside, look for a cafe called Tsubakiya Coffee. The hotel is located on a small street right next to this cafe. The room itself is quite small; there's barely enough space to open two suitcases. However, it's clean and tidy, equipped with a bathtub, shower, refrigerator, and an electric kettle. Our room had a window, but there was no view – just a very close-up wall of the adjacent building. The air conditioning unit seemed a bit old, as even on the lowest setting, it made a noticeable sound. The staff were very friendly. Toiletries like facial cleanser and lotion are available for guests to pick up at the front desk. During non-breakfast hours, guests can also enjoy complimentary coffee and tea. Additionally, hotels in Tokyo charge a consumption tax per person, with the exact amount calculated based on the nightly room rate. Ctrip does mention this, and the front desk will collect it. For our stay of 4 people across 2 rooms for 1 night, we paid 400 JPY.

It is a very nice hotel with attentive staff! The hotel is about a 7 minutes walk from Kyoto station. It’s a very convenient place to stay if you’re catching an early train or arriving from a late one. I don’t know if I’d recommend it for a longer stay since the area is quite boring. There’s plenty of restaurants and shops within the station but they’re very crowded and more expensive. It’s also quite far away from the main sights of Kyoto, so for a longer stay I’d recommend staying downtown. The included room amenities are good but nothing special. There’s shaving kits, towels, haircare, skincare, tea, water, and yukata robes (the robes are not souvenirs). There’s a pool, a spa area, and a restaurant, which all have an additional fee. My room was clean, but I found some scuff marks on the walls and a crack in my bathtub. From Kyoto station you can see Kyoto tower but it’s not an amazing sight hahaha. It takes about 25 minutes to downtown Kyoto from the hote

This hotel boasts a prime location right in the heart of Kyoto's JR transportation hub. It's incredibly easy to find – just turn right out of Kyoto Station, walk about 100 meters, and take the elevator up to the second floor. You can also access the hotel directly from inside the station. The surrounding area is bustling with plenty of shopping and dining options, and both subway and bus stations are very close by, making getting around a breeze. The hotel itself is well-equipped with all the necessary facilities, and the rooms are spacious, some even offering scenic views. Highly recommended!

If I come to Kyoto again, I'll definitely book Kyoto Good Nature! It was my husband's birthday on the day we checked in, which we hadn't mentioned beforehand. An expatriate man, possibly Indian, helped us check in. There was a slight communication barrier; he kept pointing at the room number and repeating things, and we just kept saying 'okay.' It wasn't until we got to the room after checking in that we realized he had upgraded us for free, which was such a pleasant surprise. It was late by then, and when I went back to the front desk to look for him, he was already gone. I really wanted to thank him for giving us the most beautiful room on this trip. The room was also very clean, and it's super convenient to get to Takashimaya. The public transportation nearby is excellent too. Honestly, there's not a single downside; I highly recommend it!

I booked a king-sized bed room, but when I arrived at the hotel, I was told only twin rooms were available. After some discussion, they changed it to a twin room. The mini-fridge snacks in the room were all complimentary. You can also enjoy the hot springs for free in the evening, though I didn't get around to trying it. About 80% of the guests were Westerners, and the housekeeping staff were all from Southeast Asia. The hotel staff's attitude was excellent, which I really appreciated, but I noticed their attitude was even better towards Western guests... Most people walking around seemed to be Western tourists. The hotel isn't too far from nearby attractions; walking to Shijo and Kiyomizu-dera Temple is quite manageable. If you have the means, you could hire a car to visit other attractions, but it's not very friendly for those with luggage, as the sidewalks are incredibly narrow and you have to dodge both cars and people.

We are highly recommend to stay in this hotel, while the location, room size, cleanliness, design, and service are excellent. Moreover, the breakfast style is enough to choose, you can either enjoy in western or Japanese style breakfast per day. And we have encountered a traffic jam issue when we are coming back from Nara Station, something bad happened and the train was suddenly stopped. So we cannot be able to back to hotel on time for retrieving our packed luggages in room. We called to the hotel and explained this unexpected situation. The staffs show understand and offered free late check out one more hour for us, we know it is not easy to have free late check out at Japan but they did treat us so well. Thank you so much, we appreciated and we will stay in future as well. Thank you!

The hotel is nested in a quiet corner, within walking distance of Sagaogurayama Tabuchiyamacho. Im however a bit disappointed with the limited facilites it offered when compared to the price we paid. We stayed in the Tsukinone Twin Room which is on the third floor of the building. The view is pleasant. The room is of decent size. Yet there were no public onsens. We need to pay YEN5000 for 45 minutes and there are only 2 private onsens. For more luxurious rooms with private onsen, the one I visited was on the ground level with no views as it were by the pathway to the reception , separated by wooden planks. We paid around Yen5000 for the breakfast in the hotel, Both western and japanese breakfasts were offered. We tried both. It is of standard. The 4 different juices presented on the top of the bento box was impressive. The vaccinity is pleasant. We could walk to the train station, the tourist rown area , the nearby parks and the world heritage sites. Nice area .

I stayed here 10 years ago. The hotel looked exactly the same. It is a little bit on the old school side, but everything is clean and impeccable. The first day I arrived I had a stomach issue and the hotel was really kind and helped send fresh ginger tea up to my room and requested. They went out out of their way to find me fresh ginger. The second day I strained my back from lifting heavy luggage. They are once again very kind and send a staff to help me pack all my belongings and help me coordinate sending my luggage to Tokyo so I don’t need to lift it on the train. Special thanks to Naing Thiri who is so kind and help me pack everything so neatly and even help me get dressed Honestly, when I first checked in and the hotel looks a little bit outdated I was thinking maybe next day I would not want to come back but with the great service, I would definitely stay here again if I come to Kyoto

This hotel is really great! The location is excellent, with the airport shuttle to Kansai Airport right outside the door, and you can even buy tickets at a self-service machine. The duty-free shop on the third floor is super convenient. The self-service breakfast is also fantastic and reasonably priced, with a huge variety of options. There are a lot of Korean staff members too. Sometimes you have to queue for breakfast, but I was surprised to find sashimi available!

We stayed at Hotel Gracery Kyoto for two nights and overall had a very comfortable stay. The hotel has two sections, and we stayed in the South building. The room was very clean, and the space was used efficiently, which is typical for Japan. The bathroom layout was a bit unusual. The toilet and shower are separate, which is convenient, but the toilet cubicle itself is extremely small. The shower is positioned in an odd space between the bath and what seems to be the shower floor, and the shower head cannot be adjusted up or down. That said, the water pressure and temperature were excellent, which made up for the layout. Bottled water was provided on the first day, which was appreciated. The TV, however, was very limited with only Japanese channels and no access to Netflix or other streaming services. The location is excellent. The hotel is right by Nishiki Market and surrounded by shops and restaurants, with multiple subway lines nearby. There are also many fantastic local restaurants in the area, which we highly recommend, especially when the market gets overwhelmingly busy. The hotel provides a wide range of amenities in the lobby, including face wash, toner, lotion, razors, combs and mouthwash. While convenient, the large amount of individually packaged items does not feel particularly environmentally friendly. We checked out the breakfast one morning but decided not to purchase it as it was 2750 yen per person, and there are plenty of better and more affordable options nearby. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and we also appreciated that the hotel offers free umbrella use on rainy days, which was a thoughtful touch. One downside was the room cleaning timing. We left early in the morning and only returned after 3pm, but the room was still being cleaned when we got back. We were asked to wait around 30 minutes, which was quite inconvenient after a long day when we wanted to rest, shower and freshen up before heading out again. Overall, a clean and well-located hotel with a few minor design quirks and service timing issues, but still a very pleasant stay.

Excellent location in Central Kyoto, right in the heart of shopping district, plenty of food options, and a short walk to Gion on the East. Very near to Hankyu train station that goes to Osaka Umeda. Staff were so friendly, always smiling and ready to assist. Rooms on the smaller side, not sure if it's the layout that made it feel more cramped, but Japan hotel rooms are generally like that. Best thing about this hotel is the open air natural hot spring! Amazing view of the mountains and you can even see Kiyomizu Dera temple in the distance. The water temperature was also not burning hot like some other public baths. There are complimentary drinks (including alcohol) on the rooftop terrace everyday from 4.30 to 6pm. Also free drinks from coffee machine all day in the lounge. I did not take hotel breakfast as I saw it is only simple bento box instead of buffet, so you can get better food outside.

The room's cleanliness was, as always, excellent, and it was quite spacious. We booked a twin room, and the beds could be pushed together. However, the bathroom was exceptionally small, making it difficult to place toiletries, including cups and razors, freely. There's a self-service laundry room and an ice machine. The room only provides two bottles of water, and there's no water purifier. Although the bathroom sign indicates the water is drinkable, it actually has a strong chlorine smell, which persists even after boiling. This isn't very practical for those accustomed to bottled mineral water or water purifiers in their home country. All toiletries were provided, but I have two main complaints: the toothpaste came in a tiny 2x1 cm paper sachet, which was incredibly inconvenient – small, hard to tear open, and difficult to squeeze out. It was quite an experience! Secondly, unlike the first hotel we stayed at, there were no bath salts provided. Transportation is extremely convenient, with Kyoto Station directly across the street. Check-in was also easy, and our luggage was automatically stored by the front desk upon arrival.

Extremely satisfied with this hotel. Traveling with elderly parents and children, we landed in Osaka and headed straight to Kyoto, so we chose a hotel within walking distance from the station, making it easy to manage our luggage. It's only a three-minute walk from the train station (you can see it right after exiting and turning right). The room, while not huge, was incredibly cozy and didn't feel cheap like some budget hotels. The staff were very friendly; my partner loves tea and would ask for extra water daily, which they always provided for free. During our stay, we rarely saw other Chinese guests; it was mostly Western and local guests, and breakfast was always quiet. There are tons of restaurants near the hotel (a sushi place within a five-minute walk was super delicious and great value for money). Plus, there's Isetan department store right next to the station for shopping – it couldn't be more convenient! A taxi from the hotel to Kiyomizu-dera Temple cost about 1800 JPY, and to Takashimaya, it was roughly the same price. At 9 PM, you can enter the station and take the escalator to the top for a free panoramic view of Kyoto's nightscape. All in all, I'm very satisfied and would definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit.

Hotel has hot bathhouse for hotel guests (men and women separate), 3 hot baths and 1 cold plunge. Loved the hot bath experience. Breakfast although not that wide spread was pretty yummy. Very comfortable bed. Highly recommended for families, couples and even solo travellers. Location may not be too central, might have to take Uber or taxi which can be costly. The front desk staff were very polite, but it seemed there weren't any Chinese-speaking staff. The hotel feels a bit old, and it seems to cater more to local Japanese guests rather than mainland Chinese tourists. It's a bit far from Kamo River, and it's about a 2km walk back from the shopping street. It's quite close to the subway station (and two lines intersect there), but in Kyoto, it's generally more convenient to take the bus. Next time, I might choose a hotel with more bus stops right outside. Also, there's no washing machine or laundry room, which is quite inconvenient for extended stays. The water dispenser and ice machine on our floor were also broken... I feel like the facilities could be greatly improved. The onsen (hot spring bath) is small and gets very crowded; the women's bath was almost always full at every time of day. It's like no one wants to shower in their own room's bathtub; everyone prefers the public bath for convenience.

This branded hotel in Kyoto offers great value for money. Kyoto is home to many luxury hotels like Aman, Capella, and Park Hyatt, which can be quite pricey and are better suited for a staycation to truly immerse oneself in Kyoto's culture. For this one-night stay, I chose the Westin. It's a large, established five-star hotel. Although it's older, all the details are still very well-maintained. The hotel is within walking distance of Nanzen-ji Temple, and a short taxi ride to Kawaramachi Shijo and Kiyomizu-dera Temple. There's also a shuttle bus to Kyoto Station every hour at 10 and 40 minutes past, which is very convenient. I booked two rooms and they were assigned next to each other. They even gave us the rooms at 12 PM, and the rooms had balconies. The breakfast was plentiful and excellent, with many freshly prepared dishes. For a hotel of this caliber in Kyoto, the price is truly remarkable.

We tried both breakfast restaurants, and each had its own unique charm – both are definitely worth it. The only minor drawback was that the Japanese restaurant offered free kids' meals and extra complimentary sets for children, while the European restaurant insisted on charging half price. This is a budget hotel aiming for something more—and they’ve genuinely succeeded. The room was probably the smallest we’ve ever stayed in (think sleeping on a boat or in an RV), but it was spotless and well designed. Every afternoon from 3:30 to 5:30 the hotel offers a complimentary sake bar in the lobby.  They also offer an impressive selection of amenities: toothbrushes, razors, face masks, serums, bath salts, and more. Breakfast is excellent, with plenty of variety. The onsen is O.K. and alternates between men’s and women’s use. We used the laundry and it is conveniently located and inexpensive.  It rained while we were there and they offered us umbrellas. The staff are friendly and helpful, without exception. The location is fantastic—just steps from Teramachi and Nishiki Markets, an easy walk to multiple train stations, and close to both the Gion and Pontocho districts. There are countless restaurants in every direction. On one of the afternoons during our four‑night stay, the hotel even hosted a free maiko (apprentice geisha) performance in the lobby, which was beautifully done.

Facilities: You have to walk through an alley to find the hotel entrance. Upon entering, you pass by the staff area. The lobby environment, facing a small courtyard, is quite pleasant. However, the quality of the Otowa Hall is mediocre. They claim to offer complimentary soft drinks and snacks, but in reality, there isn't much choice. The coffee machine area was cluttered with used coffee cups, making it look a bit dirty. Service: Hotel check-in time is 3 PM, but I arrived at 2:30 PM after some early shopping. The staff brought out some snacks and even knelt down to meticulously explain the hotel's layout and check-in procedures. Hygiene: I stayed in a Japanese-style room with a tatami mat. Overall, I was quite satisfied with the environment, but the bed sheets had a strong, stale odor. It felt like they weren't changed between guests... even perfume couldn't cover the smell. Overall, I felt this hotel prioritizes formality. The internal quality still has room for improvement!

The room we stayed in had more of a western fee to it (a chaise lounge and a single seat instead of the traditional Japanese table). Regardless, the room was very pretty with traditional Japanese wall paper, blinds and bathroom. The blinds were a tiny bit spotted with stains especially near the furniture which we overlooked, but the amenities were plentiful and offered in the room. The beds were extremely comfortable and chargers for phones were made readily available. Very nice to melt away in bed after a long day without needing to unpack chargers. The shared baths were also beautiful, large frosted glass surrounded the bath with an outdoor section that offered more of a nature environment. Since this is exclusive to guests there were times where I was there all by myself for a few minutes which brought deep appreciation. I did not indulge in the hotels food offerings, and nearby places closed around 11pm so nothing to eat until the morning when we stayed. We found delicious bites and a fair at a nearby temple/park in the morning and indulged in fresh sushi quick bites before heading to our next destination.

A trip to Arashiyama with my elderly mother during the spring cherry blossom season. It had been a while since I had stayed at a traditional inn. We stayed here for one night. It had a hot spring, a good location, and included dinner and breakfast. The food was delicious. - Bamboo shoot rice and firefly squid tempura for dinner... The portions were large, but it was a pain to finish it all at the end, which was disappointing, even though it was delicious. - The breakfast was perfect in both quantity and quality. The facilities: - The guest rooms are old, but well kept. - The open-air bath on the top floor was pleasant. I think the open-air bath needs to be cleaned and maintained a little better. The inn's staff are close to each other, so you can get a glimpse of how well they work. I hope that the inn will continue to be an easy place to work for both the staff who have been contributing for many years and the new staff. It was an inn that I would like to stay at again. (Next time, I might skip lunch just to have dinner.) Thank you very much for this opportunity.

The DoubleTree by Hilton was a convenient choice, located right near Kyoto Station, which made getting around super easy. With older kids, it's tough to find triple rooms, so that was a factor in our decision. The facilities were pretty standard, nothing spectacular, but the soundproofing was good – it was quiet at night. The location, decor, cleanliness, and service were all impeccable. I was particularly impressed by the design and material choices – truly ingenious. Online reviews often recommended room 308 for the Ninen-zaka Suite, and I had requested it in advance. However, I was given 208 upon arrival, which was a bit disappointing at first. The hotel is located in Kiyomizu Gojo. Coming from Osaka, take the Keihan Line to Kiyomizu Gojo Station, exit 4, and the hotel is right across the street. However, the Special Express doesn't stop here; you'll need to transfer to a Semi-Express or local train at Sanjo. I originally booked this hotel hoping to be near the Kamo River for a morning stroll. While this section of the Kamo River in Gojo is less crowded, the scenery around Shijo Kawaramachi is much more beautiful for photos. The biggest convenience of this hotel is its proximity to Kiyomizu-dera Temple, Yasaka Shrine, and that area. It's only a 15-minute walk to Kiyomizu-dera and about 20 minutes to Hanamikoji. Getting to Takashimaya via the subway is also very easy, just a few stops. The hotel facilities are comprehensive, and the room easily accommodates two large suitcases without feeling cramped. The breakfast is worth the price, and all the staff are warm and friendly. They were always helpful when I asked them to call a taxi or borrow an umbrella, which made for a great experience. If you're tired from sightseeing, you can enjoy the onsen; the pool isn't large, but it's not overly crowded. This hotel was truly excellent. I often find that Japanese domestic hotels can be hit or miss due to different standards compared to international ones, but this place far exceeded my expectations. It was a very comfortable stay. My only minor complaint is that I thought I got a better deal by booking in advance, but on the day of check-in, I noticed the same price included breakfast. Since we were three people in two rooms without breakfast, I can't comment on the breakfast quality. This experience led me to believe that hotels weren't busy lately, so I booked subsequent hotels later, only to find myself paying much higher last-minute prices for other accommodations – that's on me, though. Another small issue was that one of the rooms didn't have tea replenished on the second day. However, overall, I was very satisfied. Previously, for convenience in Kyoto, I always stayed near Kyoto Station, but this time I discovered the Higashiyama area is also excellent. The surroundings have a wonderfully relaxed old-town vibe, and it's convenient for local attractions.

I am from Yangzhou, Jiangsu. Although Yangzhou is a garden city, there are many such style escape hotels in Jiangsu and Zhejiang, Hongxi Noya of Hoshino Group is definitely worth living. The overall health is very good, the facilities are well maintained and there is no musty smell. That is, all the windows can be wiped clean. This time I checked in in the evening. When I took a taxi, I saw the sunset of Lushan, which was a value-added item. The reception staff was very polite and welcoming. At night, the girl was invited to drive us to the hotel entrance. This road was too standard, almost standing on the mountain, and there was a feeling of adventure. When I checked out, I felt the ship of Hoshino. By the way, I recommend the dyeing workshop and Zhai Pavilion are diagonally opposite. If you like the scenery, it is worth seeing.

First off, the hotel's location is fantastic. There's a bus stop nearby with direct routes, plus a convenience store. I really enjoyed the hotel's large public bath; it was so relaxing to soak in the hot spring after walking 10,000-20,000 steps every day. The hotel is also very thoughtful – they provide fresh pajamas daily, and the room size is quite good. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. On the day we checked out, we even stored our luggage for a while before heading back. All in all, for this price during the off-season, it was an excellent value for money.

Modern design hotel that appeals to the younger crowd. Medium queen room was spacious and I could lay out my luggage case on the long bench. Don't expect nice views from the room as it will be facing other buildings. Room was on the darker side, as the interior design is mostly black and gray, and the lighting was minimal, so it is good for relaxing and not working. For breakfast, you can order 1 plate from ala carte menu, and there is a salad bar. Pretty simple but does the job. Location wise, it is closer to Gojo metro station than Shijo station. There is a metro exit with elevator so you can use that when carrying luggage. It is a longer walk to Shijo dori shopping street, so you may prefer to book a hotel closer to Shijo station / Hankyu Karasuma station if you want to be more central to the shopping area.

Better than expected!!! Very spacious First of all, the transportation is very convenient, just one minute walk from Gojo Station, the public areas are beautifully landscaped, our room just happened to see Kyoto Tower and Higashi Honganji Temple downstairs (worth a visit, very large and exquisite), Nishi Honganji Temple is a world heritage site but has not been redecorated, not as beautiful as Higashi Honganji Temple. The only thing is that the water temperature is not particularly stable, but it is not too cold. I guess it is due to the age of the hotel. The air conditioner is a bit noisy at night. We turned off the air conditioner to sleep, but it did not affect the room temperature, it was still very warm

I stayed for 4 nights from January 4 to January 8, 2026. From the hotel, you can walk to Nijo Castle in about 10 minutes. There are many small convenience stores nearby (7-Eleven and the like), as well as two large supermarkets — Life is open until midnight, which is a huge plus. You can buy nice gifts for friends and family late in the evening without wasting daytime hours. The transportation access is great too: within a few minutes' walk there's a subway station and a JR line (convenient for coming from the railway station), and right next to the hotel there's a bus stop. This is important because Kyoto's sights are scattered all over the city, and you often need to use public transport or taxis. Speaking of taxis. Twice I asked the reception to call me a taxi, and both times the staff helped me — a huge thank you to them! It was especially important on the first day: thanks to a taxi, I made it to Kiyomizu-dera Temple in time and explored it without rushing. Check-in was very quick, and the staff explained where everything was. The room was quite spacious — or maybe it just felt that way. I comfortably unpacked my suitcase and took out everything I needed without feeling cramped. The room had all the essentials, and there were kettles near the elevator that you could take to your room if needed. I did, and had some tea before bed (on the first floor, you can grab a free tea bag if you don't have your own). The air conditioner worked for both cooling and heating — which was very useful on some evenings. Honestly, I only used the hotel to sleep, and it was perfectly fine. Every morning, breakfast is served on the first floor. To be honest, I expected something simple since the room rate was quite affordable. That's why the breakfast was such a pleasant surprise! My eyes wandered every morning at the variety of delicious food! A huge selection. Every day I had rice with various toppings, amazing salmon, cod, and various vegetables (the okra here was especially good). There's a small smoking room on the first floor with good ventilation. My overall impression of the hotel is extremely positive. I will definitely stay here again on my next visit to Kyoto.

We loved our stay here! We got 4 rooms for 8 people in our family. There is a connector in the ground floor to 7/11 which was the best! We just go down for midnight snacks and breakfast! Lovedddd the foods there. Also the staffs there were very accommodating, friendly, and helpful! We arrived early and they had a FREE luggage storage; they also have a free bread and coffee for breakfast. I loved their lobby there too, it has fun and creative designs. As for the room, it is just right and perfect. The space is really maximize, and the double room was really good for 2. There is a mini refrigerator, a tv, a good enough cr, and comfortable bed. Also you don't need to worry about the luggage space, because you can push it under the bed! Overall, I recommend this hotel to you guysss!! Oh yeaa, the location too was perfect. The location is good, and the room is decorated in a retro style. However, the room had a strong damp smell when I first checked in. There were many buttons for the shower, which made it a bit difficult to use; the water kept turning off, and I had to press them again – maybe I just didn't know how to use them properly… Also, on my first night, I left a vacuum-sealed comforter on the wardrobe (which I hadn't touched), and it suddenly fell off during the night, giving me a fright. The free shuttle bus to and from Osaka Station (Umeda) makes it super convenient for shopping in Umeda. Plus, there's direct underground access from B1 to Keihan Nakanoshima Station, which is great for getting to Kyoto. The hotel's location in Nakanoshima is quiet and peaceful, a welcome change from the hustle and bustle of Dotonbori. It's located in Namba which is one of the busiest and exciting neighborhoods in Osaka. Direct train to KIX in the same building is the biggest plus. Dotonbori is only 10 min walk away. We had an amazing sushi dinner a few mins from the hotel. You never get hungry staying there. Front desk staff speak very good English. If you opt out of breakfast, the cafe on 3rd floor facing express train station is an excellent choice for coffee and pastries. A few min walk there an excellent brunch cafe that opens at 8 am. If you arrive by train from Kyoto/Nara, it's a little past to n navigate to the hotel. Just get to the 3rd floor first around Takashimaya. Signage is mucus easier from there. Rooms are spacious. Pros: The hotel's location is superb. You can directly access the lobby from the subway without even exiting the station. Step downstairs and you're ready to explore. Daimaru Department Store and the pedestrian street are right across the road, making it incredibly convenient for shopping. The views from the higher floors of the hotel are also excellent. Cons: Check-in is handled centrally and often involves queues. The lobby itself has very limited seating. The main road outside is bustling, but at night, modified cars and motorcycles create a lot of noise, which is quite noticeable even on the higher floors. Highlight - On the first night, we asked the front desk for earplugs, and the staff member was very nice and thoughtful. However, on the second night, when we went to the front desk for earplugs again, the staff had changed and their attitude was terrible. At first, they said they didn't provide earplugs. When we mentioned they did the night before, they checked and then claimed they were out of stock. Their entire demeanor was impatient and I strongly suspect they were being dishonest. One star.

I genuinely think the Osaka Marriott is the best value-for-money Marriott I've ever stayed at, from the 6000+ won Jeju Marriott to Marriotts in China and Europe. Not only is it incredibly clean, but everything is also so user-friendly and convenient. The room cleaning was very timely, amenities were well-stocked, and it was a very comfortable stay. The Tennoji location is also excellent; you don't need to transfer trains to get anywhere. I used the Kansai Thru Pass, taking the JR Osaka Loop Line for nearby places and the Kuroshio express for further destinations like Kii-Katsuura – it was very useful. I booked a connecting room and requested a high floor, which they accommodated by giving me a room on the 52nd floor, though it faced south. Next time, it would be even better if I could get a north-facing room. Before going, I read some reviews and was concerned about a potential smell in the room. When we checked in, there was no smell at all. However, after going out one day and returning, I noticed a slight odor. I cranked the air conditioning to max and lowered the temperature, and after a while, the smell was gone. Others might want to try this if they encounter the same issue. Oh, and the breakfast is pretty good; at least they have Udon noodles and curry rice. You can also make your own dorayaki. Overall, I give it a five-star recommendation.

The hotel's location is superb. It's a convenient 3-5 minute walk to Osakajokoen JR Station, making it easy to get anywhere. There's an elevator inside the station that goes directly to the exit. After exiting, you walk about a hundred meters along a corridor to another elevator that takes you to ground level. Cross a small bridge and an intersection, and you're at the hotel. This is incredibly convenient if you have large luggage. The hotel is situated on the northeast side of Osaka Castle Park, by a small bridge, so you can easily stroll along the castle moat anytime. Shopping and dining are also very convenient. Cross the overpass from the park's south exit, and you'll find Q's Mall. There are also countless restaurants if you walk to Kyobashi Station (and along the way). For airport transfers, take the JR line to Tennoji, then transfer to the JR Loop Line (red), and it's just six stops to Osakajokoen Station. The hotel's cleanliness and facilities are excellent, especially the soundproofing – it's very quiet. The mattress and pillows are just right, providing a great sleeping environment. The hotel service is highly professional, from the front desk and restaurant to the lobby and concierge. I've stayed at Hotel Granvia Osaka many times, but this was my first time in a Luxury Double Room. At 35 square meters, the room is indeed spacious for Japan, offering a very open feel and beautiful views from the window. However, to be honest, the room's facilities are quite disappointing. The furniture looks very old with obvious wear and tear, and the air conditioning is a bit loud, especially at night when it's quiet, making the noise unbearable. There was also a bad smell in the bathroom. It looks like there used to be a wall-mounted phone in the bathroom, but after it broke, they just covered it with a board. The wallpaper on the ceiling is peeling, and the wallpaper in the corners is damaged. In short, the hotel's housekeeping manager should seriously inspect the room's facilities to ensure that the 'Luxury Room' truly lives up to its name.

Location: If you're coming from Kansai Airport, taking the Nankai Rapid Express to Namba and then dragging your luggage to the hotel is a bit of a trek, about 1km I'd say? I heard taking the bus is better. But the hotel's location is absolutely fantastic. Just 100 meters outside, you're in the busiest area of Dotonbori and Shinsaibashi. Every day after exploring, you can just step downstairs and enjoy all sorts of delicious food. Room: The room isn't huge, but I could half-open my 28-inch suitcase. Although it's a bit older, it's very clean! The only issue is that the curtains don't block out the light completely, so I was woken up by the sunlight in the morning. I should have worn an eye mask. Breakfast: It's alright, enough to fill you up. If you're rushing out to explore every day, it's worth booking. The restaurant isn't very big and can get crowded sometimes. A big plus is that children under 12 eat for free! Service: My room was right opposite the linen room, but I stayed for 3 nights and didn't hear a single sound from the staff, which was impressive! I couldn't use WeChat Pay for the washing machine, so I called the front desk to complain. To my surprise, a staff member proactively came to my room to help me operate it. When it still didn't work, they went back and forth to help me resolve the issue. Surroundings: Many reviews mentioned the red-light district at night. I also brought my 12-year-old daughter, and we came back very late every night, but we found it to be fine. This area is very lively; there are still many people out and about at midnight. You can find places like a century-old oden stand and the popular white chicken broth ramen, as well as convenience stores and Don Quijote. I'm very satisfied! Downside: There are too few washing machines.

This hotel popped up as the top result when I searched for hotels in Osaka on Ctrip, and it definitely lived up to its reputation. The hotel has a good number of rooms, and what's particularly great is that there are many twin rooms with ample space. Each room comes with a microwave, a fridge, and a table. We mostly ate breakfast in our room, buying milk, salads, bread, and rice balls from the nearby 7-Eleven, which was cheap and easy. There's also plenty of space to hang clothes, and they provide a generous supply of hangers – a must-have for washing clothes daily in the summer. On the fifth floor, there's a self-service laundry room, and on the sixth floor, a shared 'kitchenette' where you can do some simple cooking and get water, which was very handy. The hotel's location is excellent. It's just a few minutes' walk to Universal Studios if you exit through the back door and turn left, which means you can sleep in a bit longer in the morning. There are several restaurants across the street, and a Lawson convenience store right next door to the right. The subway station is just a short walk further. We had breakfast at Lawson every day during our stay. From the window, you can even see the Universal Studios roller coaster. The room wasn't small; a quad room with four beds was perfect for three adults and one child. The room amenities were very complete, including a REFA hairdryer, and small packets of facial cleanser, toner, and lotion. The front desk staff were friendly and polite, and could communicate in English.

One of the best hotel we stayed in Osaka. It's a great location to explore and if you are lucky you can spot some cool cars or motorcycle around the area. Especially near the American mura at night. We love to walk around and explore and came across the Liberty Walk Osaka. We took the ' Darth Vader' looking train from Kansai airport at the Nankai line. We spotted the Dainese shop from the train and went to check it out. They have some Valentino Rossi official merchandise. It's just below the Keihan hotel. Can't remember most of the road name but we were just walking about using Google map trying to check out the Osaka Loop where if ur lucky you could spot some cool cars and motorcycles.

This was my second stay, and I really love the hotel's style. The ambiance is elegant, and the surrounding scenery is beautiful; you can take a walk along the river. There's a coffee shop on the ground floor of the plaza, and breakfast is also good. There's a shuttle bus to Osaka Station every 20 minutes, making shopping super convenient. The service is five-star standard, as expected from a long-standing local hotel. Don't miss the hotel bakery on the ground floor. If you check the map, there's also a century-old unagi restaurant nearby, though it's a bit far. The subway station isn't too far either. Overall, a great stay! Facilities: The hotel is older but very well-maintained! Hygiene: Good, though they forgot to provide pajamas on the last day! Environment: The hotel's style is elegant, and the surrounding scenery is beautiful! Service: Five-star standard!

Convenient walking distance to and from the Sakaisuji-Honmachi Station serving the Chuo Line [C] and Sakaisuji Line [K], makes for an easy thoroughfare to all parts of the city, Umeda, and Universal Studios, too. Great amenities are its upper floor Onsen on the 14th floor, along with the swimming pool and gym facilities for an additional (2 700¥) per visit. Room size is fairly spacious for solo travelers, but opt for beds for two persons or couples. The hotel does not have laundry facilities though the nearest laundromat is about 6-blocks away. Very clean and open 24/24. This hotel has a chapel inside on the second floor for those who are observant travelers (for Christian devotees). There are several other temples and shrines all within distance from the hotel itself. Accommodations are very good from a short stay to a business traveler’s perspective or personal experience within this part of Osaka’s financial districts. Very lovely places for returning visitors.

The breakfast exceeded my expectations; they had my favorite wagyu beef, ice cream, a variety of drinks, fruits, and even snacks that could double as souvenirs. However, the room felt a bit cramped and dated. For instance, there was only one chair and a small table, making it difficult to eat takeout. The TV wasn't mounted on the wall, which made the space feel even narrower. If there was a long sofa by the window, it would prevent guests from having to sit on the bed immediately upon entering the room. During checkout, I realized I had been misled by the hotel package. I thought I needed to purchase a specific bathing package for the hot springs, and that this package didn't include breakfast, requiring me to pay extra for it. In reality, all guests could use the hot springs for free. It took about 2.5 hours on the day of checkout to sort things out with the platform and get a refund for the overpayment. There's a chapel inside the hotel, which would be perfect for newlyweds to hold a reception.

Unexpectedly good! While not in the city center, it boasts an unbeatable sea view, with the Tempozan Ferris Wheel, Osaka Bay, and USJ right outside the window. The hotel is conveniently located next to the JR Loop Line and Chuo Line, offering direct access to Kansai Airport and easy connections to Umeda and Osaka Station. Downstairs, there's a large supermarket (Daiso) and plenty of restaurants. Plus, there's a nearby Solaniwa Onsen where hotel guests receive a discount. The best part? I recently stayed at Hotel Hanshin Osaka during my trip to Osaka, and overall it was a very satisfying experience, especially for a first-time solo traveler visiting the city. One of the biggest advantages of this hotel is definitely its excellent location. The hotel is conveniently connected to transportation, making it extremely easy to travel to many of Osaka’s famous attractions and shopping areas. Whether I wanted to visit Dotonbori, Umeda, Osaka Castle, or even take day trips to nearby cities, getting around was smooth and stress-free. For someone traveling alone and unfamiliar with Osaka, staying here made the entire trip feel much more comfortable and convenient. Another thing that impressed me was the service provided by the hotel staff. The front desk employees were always polite, professional, and welcoming. They greeted guests with genuine smiles and were very helpful whenever I had questions. Even though there was sometimes a language barrier, they still tried their best to assist me, which made me feel appreciated as a guest. Good hospitality can really affect the overall travel experience, and this hotel certainly delivered in that aspect. The room itself was clean and well-maintained. Although the room size was slightly small, which is quite common in Japan, the facilities inside were surprisingly complete and thoughtfully arranged. Everything I needed was provided, and the layout was efficient enough that I still felt comfortable during my stay. The in-room hot spring bath was also a very enjoyable feature. After spending long hours walking around Osaka every day, being able to relax in the warm bath at night was incredibly refreshing and helped me recover from fatigue. If I had to mention one downside, it would only be the limited room space. However, considering the location, service quality, cleanliness, and facilities, I still think this hotel offers great value overall. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Osaka for the first time, especially solo travelers who want a convenient, comfortable, and reliable place to stay.

Location: The hotel boasts an excellent location on the Yotsubashi line. It's incredibly convenient for tourists, whether you're coming from the airport or returning after a day of sightseeing, as it's right outside the subway exit. This is especially good for tired travelers, as you don't have to walk far. Facilities: The hotel is somewhat like an economy business hotel. The rooms are small, the hallways aren't very wide; everything feels a bit compact. It seems well-suited for business travelers or solo guests. Service: The service is good. You can pick up amenities you need from the front desk yourself. If you want your room cleaned, you can put up a sign; otherwise, they won't clean it, but they'll leave fresh towels and amenities on your doorknob daily, which is a thoughtful touch. The hotel's highlights are its hot spring and free evening drinks. The hot spring is quiet and comfortable with few people, perfect for relaxing after a long day. For those who enjoy a drink, the complimentary evening beverages can help you unwind and sleep. Food: The breakfast is also good, offering a variety of typical Japanese dishes.

Plus, the all-you-can-drink beer and soft drinks (beer, coke, cider, and sparkling juices like orange, grape, and melon) made the trip incredibly convenient. RWe chose this hotel specifically to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. We requested a higher-floor room in advance, but unfortunately it wasn’t provided. There was also no special setup or decoration in the room, and the front desk never mentioned anything about it. The room view was average, and the hotel is a bit of a walk from Shinsaibashi Station. The elevator had a noticeable unpleasant odour when going from the ground floor to the 3rd floor. Overall, the experience was just average. For comparison, we stayed two nights at another hotel during the same trip that was slightly cheaper, but the overall feeling and quality were noticeably better than at this W hotel.

The hotel location is great and easy to walk around exploring right in the middle of the city and you will find this gem ramen store open 24/7! The only disappointment was with the butler service or more the non existent butler service. For the price we are paying, I expected much much more from St Regis as I have been accustomed to at other St Regis Hotels. The hotel is beginning to show its age and hence the cleanliness part is coming into question when our rooms were being cleaned, I mean I am again nit picking here but it isn’t up to St Regis usual standards. The gym room is adequate but there isn’t a pool in a 5 star hotel 🙃.

Locals don’t usually come here to sleep — they come to wash, relax, and go through the full spa ritual. There are three types of steam rooms, a circular shower, and three baths: two hot ones at around 41°C, and one cold shock bath at around 11°C. You dip in and instantly feel alive. One unique feature — every hour they run a group steam ritual, like a collective massage & heat therapy session. Very Japanese, and surprisingly affordable. Definitely worth trying. There’s also an inexpensive breakfast option, plus vending machines with food and drinks right inside — very convenient. Overall, it’s a men-only vibe: arrive, clean up, relax, reset, and go about your day. The capsule is just a bonus on top of the sauna experience. They give you clothing — not a robe, but loose Japanese pants and an oversized T-shirt. You get your own locker, bedding and clothes are changed daily, and the bathrooms have literally everything: toothbrush, toothpaste, gels, shampoo… even nail clippers. You don’t need to bring anything. Location is fantastic — right next to Dotonbori. Step outside and you’re instantly in the heart of Osaka’s nightlife and energy. Downsides? A strict checkout — you must leave at 10:00 AM, and check-in starts only after 3:00 PM. If you want to stay during that gap, it’s around 300 yen per hour, or ~900 yen for the day. Still — great experience. I always wanted to try a real Japanese capsule stay. Inside the capsule there’s a TV, radio, adjustable lights, and AC — though it blasts pretty strongly, so I turned it off.

I really enjoyed my stay in this hotel. It was clean and had nice amenities! I will give perfect score if: 1. They had a better pillow. The Japanese pillow is very hard. It is like sleeping in a stone. 2. The onsen has women staff, it is such a surprise to see a woman doing things in such place with people who are naked. Is a man okay to serve in the women onsen? I think it was awkward for the woman worker. 3. The quilt is like silk, it slides down to the bed when you are sleeping. It is not so comfortable to sleep on. Other than these 3, everything is perfect. There is not much in the area of the hotel but It is 6 minutes walk away from Awaza station, a few stops away from Namba station (where is dotonbori) there is a 7/11 beside the hotel. I have not tried the breakfast, but there is a drink area open from 6-9 pm and you can get some beauty mask or other small things everyday in the reception. I returned to the front desk with my heavy luggage and when I checked, they said, ”The room has been changed.” They should have told me in advance and gotten my approval. I had no choice but to register the 100 yen tax fee at the designated machine. The machine asked me if I wanted to pay by credit card or cash, so I pressed the cash button. However, there was no reaction. I wondered if I could just insert the money without having to press it, and when I did, it came back. In conclusion, credit card is the only option!

This one just beats all my other stays in Japan, it was seriously that good. The location is near Umeda Station, a super quick three-minute walk, and it was so easy to find amazing local cuisine nearby. The public bath is the absolute MVP here. I was totally not expecting someone with a tattoo on the back like me to be allowed in, but it was fine. My Japanese friend even said, ”Your public bath is way too good to be the one of a hotel, it should be a private public bath.” The quality is superb, and the amenities are fully equipped with everything you have in your own bathroom: hair spray, shampoo, hair conditioner, sponge, razor, nail clipper, nourishing cream, toothbrush, toothpaste and woww a lot. You put heart in every detail. It was my first experience with a Japanese public bath, and it was the best. The staff are super friendly but still uphold guests’ privacy. Having a lot of guests, it was surprisingly enough to sleep. Just one quick recommendation: The hostel requires a daily check-in even when you book consecutive days. For us, it was no problem sorting out and communicating with staffs. But some foreign guests seemed a bit confused by the process. If they could clarify that for non-Japanese speakers better, the place would be beyond perfect! Thanks for the excellent experience!

Remember to turn on the electric mosquito coil. There is a match in the room, but we found out when we checked out that we were harassed by mosquitoes for a night. It is recommended that you plan to die at the same time at Bo and Universal Studios, or Osaka Port, Ocean Park can choose to live here for one night, which is more suitable. Not suitable for shopping, because there are no large shopping plazas around. Because there are no restaurants around the hotel, dinner is solved in the restaurant in the hotel.
