The tower building was affordable, unlike the main building which was out of my price range. The garden was expansive, though the cherry blossoms weren't in full bloom yet, so there weren't many flowers. The lower floors are all shopping malls; you can spend a lot of time just wandering around the hotel, from the tower to the main building. It's a great way to pass the time.

The lobby is grand and spacious, and there's an automatic foreign currency exchange machine available.

Room and bed were very comfortable, immaculately clean and modern. 2 mins walk from train station, if you need lift access to train then a 6 mins walk, we had a stroller. Breakfast was a bit of a zoo, we went during Christmas, very busy! But tables were spacious so even though there were so many people you don’t feel cramped. Good variety of food selection. We had dinner at the Japanese teppanyaki restaurant. Delicious, especially the tuna salad. I found the lobby staff a little lack of personality, at check in, no mentioning of where breakfast will be, what time check out is. Just checked you in and that’s it, no personal notes in the room. When I expressed I’ve lost my phone at the shop in Tokyo, no sign of empathy (it was a western male staff) no gesture of helpfulness, very cold and robotic. This goes for concierge also, he is an older western gentleman, he needs to use Google translate also which is frustrating cause I could do exactly the same research with Google translate. Overall, hardware is solid, need to fine tune the staff, sprinkle a little bit of personality in them.

Plus, there's a new Starbucks downstairs and three convenience stores (7-Eleven, Lawson, Family Mart). Getting to Narita Airport from Takaracho Station is a quick 7-8 minute walk.

If you exit Tsukiji from exit 3b, you'll be at the hotel entrance in no time. The closest convenience store is a 7-Eleven, followed by FamilyMart and Lawson, so grabbing food or anything else you need is super convenient. As for the room, yes, it's small, but that's pretty standard for Tokyo. However, all the facilities are spotless and brand new, giving it a very tidy feel. I have to especially praise the bathroom; the hairdryer and showerhead are from the famous Japanese brand Refa. Plus, the complimentary amenities in the lobby are from Sekkisei. Overall, the hotel has a very upscale vibe. If I'm ever back in the area, I'll definitely be booking this hotel again.

When I needed more water, the front desk delivered it to my room in an instant. The room itself was very quiet and well-equipped with all necessary amenities. For such a central location, the value for money is outstanding. The view from the window is excellent; during the day, the train tracks are busy with trains coming and going, while at night, the city lights are spectacular. I even saw a rainbow on the day I checked in – a lovely start to my stay.

There's a 7-Eleven on the 2nd floor of the hotel annex, though it gets so busy during peak hours that the staff look completely worn out. It's generally very convenient if you avoid the 7-9 PM rush. I was a bit disappointed that the ice machine on my floor was out of order during my stay. The breakfast buffet was absolutely delicious, with both Western and Japanese options, including cold udon, curry rice, gyudon, and freshly made onigiri.

We also were able to utilize the Poppins onsite daycare although this is run independently and you should book well in advance of your trip as only 1 day that we requested was available for booking. Perched atop this magnificent skyscraper, Aman Tokyo, which stunned the world a decade ago, remains an unparalleled benchmark for modern city hotels. ｜The soaring 30-meter high atrium, crafted with washi lanterns, wood textures, and concrete and rock, creates a 'dry landscape' garden in the urban clouds. ｜The view facing the Imperial Palace is arguably Tokyo's most beautiful skyline (it ruthlessly trumps the already impressive view from the neighboring Bulgari). ｜While the ambiance at Arva, the Italian restaurant on the other side of the lobby, is superb, the food wasn't to my taste. I'd recommend the Aman Cafe on the first floor, a glasshouse enveloped by the 'Otemachi Forest' oasis instead.

During this trip, I experienced two different room types at the Grand Nikko Tokyo Daiba: a regular Executive Room and a Premier Rainbow Bridge side room. The Executive room allowed for a separate, convenient check-in area. The afternoon tea and dinner were quite simple but sufficient to tie me over. I later found out that the Fujiya peach soda in the lounge is a popular, hard-to-find drink. I really enjoyed it and recommend everyone try it. Regarding the size, facilities, and view of the rooms, the Rainbow Bridge side is significantly better. The room is larger, the bed is bigger, and the desk is spacious, perfect for working or doing makeup. It feels like every design detail was thoughtfully considered, and the hotel is very well-maintained, new, and clean – excellent! The location is convenient for taking the bus to the airport. Getting to Disneyland requires a few transfers, but a taxi takes only 20 minutes, which is quite fast. There are also many shopping malls nearby, but I couldn't find the supermarket that others mentioned in the reviews downstairs; I found the supermarket quite far. If you plan to have a late-night snack, I recommend buying it in advance. Overall, it's still very good. The location, value for money, and all other aspects are excellent. I would definitely choose this hotel again for my next visit.

If 100 is a perfect score, this hotel has its pros and cons. The convenient location and room size both deserve a 90. The shower water pressure and the service from most of the staff are at least an 80. However, you can clearly hear the subway from the room, and even with the small window handle adjusted up or down, the noise persists. During my two-night stay, one night I couldn't fall asleep until the subway stopped running in the middle of the night. The next morning, I was woken up by the noise around 7 AM. I groggily recorded a video, but my phone's microphone near the bed didn't capture it well. The actual sound is about one to two times louder than what's in the video. The room also didn't provide earplugs, which is quite unbearable – I'm deducting 70 points for this. There were noticeable marks on the room walls and the bathroom floor, so I'm taking off another 50 points. The carpet is old and somewhat damaged, and the room looks dingy. For a room that costs over 1500 per night, this warrants another 60-point deduction. So, this is a hotel with overly distinct pros and cons.

I come to Tokyo several times a year, staying a fortnight or more each time. This time I spent seven nights at The Capitol Hotel Tokyu. The room faced Hie Shrine. Through the floor-to-ceiling windows I could see the shrine's copper roof and half of Tokyo's skyline. The décor was modern without excess; the layout flowed easily, Bose speakers hidden in the walls, another set in the bathroom ceiling, connected by a 3.5mm jack. The curtains were motorized, though you hardly needed to close them. The turndown service. I would leave in the evening and return late to find the room changed: only the hallway light and bedside lamp left on, a bottle of water and a glass on the nightstand, two chocolates beside them. The evening tea and teacup, previously stored in the cabinet, had been moved next to the coffee machine. These changes were so slight you had to think back carefully to confirm they had happened at all. The temperature and humidity had been adjusted. As if the room itself remembered your habits. Room service fell short of the ryokan in Hakone or Lake Toya, but well above the ordinary hotel. Each day I made two or three cups of complimentary coffee, played music, read, wrote. In seven days I finished three books. The research ahead began to take shape. There were drawbacks. No washing machine, but a decent laundromat ten minutes' walk away—a chance to wander the streets of Akasaka. The room provided HDMI and ethernet ports but no cables; for those who came to rest, perhaps a mercy. The minibar fridge was mostly occupied by drinks for purchase, same as the Imperial, though there was still room for my sparkling water. The day I left it was half past five and fully dark. I could barely make out the faces of the bellhop and the taxi driver. Together they loaded my luggage into the boot. I wished the bellhop a happy new year in Japanese and told her I liked her hat. She smiled and returned the greeting. As the taxi pulled out of the underground drive, I thought of the inns Kawabata once wrote about: what had to be sought in the mountains of snow country can now be reached by elevator from the B2 exit of a metro station. I have watched the Shinagawa Prince Hotel loosen quietly over time, slip a little. That kind of decline is rarely one great error. It begins the day someone forgets to leave a glass of water, neglects to move a packet of tea, omits a newspaper. As for The Capitol Hotel Tokyu: in Japanese, what I experienced over these seven days is called ちょうどいい.

Booking through Trip.com was very convenient and quick. The location is excellent, with direct shuttle buses to both Haneda and Narita airports, and another shuttle to Shinjuku Station. There's a 7-Eleven on the first floor, but you have to go outside to access it, you can't get there directly from inside the hotel. It's right next to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, and I'd recommend staying here just to try their canteen for lunch sometime – it's quite an interesting experience.

Although it was partially obstructed, considering I booked a basic room, it was more than acceptable. Upon arrival, the staff immediately helped with my luggage and inquired about my name, which was very thoughtful. Turndown service and replenishment of amenities in the evening were prompt. All staff members throughout the hotel were professional and responsive. Now for the negatives: I wouldn't call it discrimination, but it's clear the hotel primarily caters to and prioritizes Western guests (there were many Westerners staying there). They even offer gluten-free bread at breakfast. I was assigned a room on the lowest floor, the 8th floor, and I didn't see any Western guests on my floor. When using the elevators, they were always going to floors 10 and above. Additionally, a cart with spare amenities was constantly parked right outside my room door, which was quite an eyesore every time I opened it. I brought this up during check-out, but I doubt they'll take it seriously.

This was my first time visiting Tokyo, and I stayed at Agora for five days: 🤵‍♀️ During check-in, although the staff didn't speak Chinese, they provided detailed check-in instructions in Chinese. All the front desk staff I encountered during my stay had excellent attitudes.👍🏻 🧹 The hotel usually cleans rooms every three days. If you need daily cleaning, just put the magnetic sign from your room outside your door before noon on that day. 🛏️ I chose a twin room, and when I opened the door, I found they had pushed two single beds together. The size was decent, and two adults could sleep comfortably without feeling cramped. 📍 The location is excellent. Downstairs, there's a restaurant called Bansuke that serves delicious fried fish ochazuke. Just a short walk away, you'll find FamilyMart, Lawson, and 7-Eleven. There are also drugstores and restaurants at the large intersection outside. 🚇 Higashi-Ginza Station is just around the corner from the hotel entrance, making it very convenient to take the Asakusa Line and Hibiya Line. There's also an express train directly to the airport; just check Google Maps for the schedule. If you prefer to walk to Ginza Station, there's a dedicated underground passage, which is very convenient. 🛍️ If you want to go shopping, most malls are about a 10-minute walk away, and the street is quite lively. 💦 The only downside is that the room is indeed quite small, with barely enough space to lay one suitcase flat. But honestly, for this price, getting such a great location is already very satisfying. The experience was excellent, and I'm grateful to Agora for a wonderful memory of Tokyo.🥰

There are also free amenities available for you to pick up at the check-in counter as well, such as facia mask, lotion, food pad, etc. The hotel staff can speak English very well and friendly. Trains, buses and shopping are just steps away, which saved us so much time and energy. The hospitality was excellent. The staff were polite, attentive and very efficient, making us feel welcomed immediately. Check in was smooth and the overall service throughout our stay was consistently professional. The room was spacious, spotless and very comfortable, perfect for resting after a full day of sightseeing. This hotel combines prime location with refined service and comfort. I would gladly stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Kyoto. Truly a five star experience.

The location is absolutely perfect! For tourists, Shijo Kawaramachi is the best base. There are two taxi stands right downstairs, Takashimaya is next door, and many attractions and shopping streets are within walking distance. The Good Nature Station downstairs is also great for browsing. The room was clean, and it has wooden floors, so you need to take off your shoes. They thoughtfully provided both soft and firm pillows, which was a nice touch. Just a heads-up, the hotel doesn't provide disposable toothbrushes. The only downside was the service. Housekeeping took away the used bath towels but didn't replace them with new ones. I only realized there were no towels in the entire room after showering, and I ended up catching a cold that night.

This was our first time staying in the Gion area, and Hotel the Celestine truly elevated the experience. The atmosphere is calm, elegant and very Kyoto. From check in to departure, everything felt smooth and professionally handled. The cleanliness was impeccable. The room was thoughtfully arranged with a perfect balance of modern comfort and traditional Japanese touches. Beds were extremely comfortable and the space felt well planned, not cramped like many city hotels. What makes this hotel special is the location. Stepping outside places you immediately in the charm of old Kyoto. Walking through Gion in the early morning before the crowds arrive was unforgettable. Service deserves special mention. The team was polite, warm and always ready to assist with genuine hospitality. A beautiful property for anyone who appreciates quiet luxury in a prime cultural setting. We would gladly stay again.

So I want to start but saying this hotel is considered luxury and in the pricier side for Kyoto walking distance to Gion. Our room was big and the bed comfy. Hotel decor is stunning and the staff are nice. I liked the 12pm checkout which I really think should be compulsory. And the pajamas and robes were lovely. Complimentary coffee and snacks every day as a nice touch. We did not have breakfast as it was very expensive in comparison to other places in the area plus we wanted to explore The only problem I had with this hotel was the price we paid to have 1 very small bag of underwear, socks and few t shirts washed and dried. Considering most hotels offer a laundry room inside their hotel, we thought this would be the case when reception said housekeeping take washing by 8am every morning. We did not expect this service to be free but it was £75.00 ( approx 16,000 yen) Our laundry bag was 100% missing the pricing sheet. So i was so shocked by this. Japan does not take too well to complaints so I swallowed the cost due to misunderstanding. So unless you want s huge bill. Take laundry elsewhere!!! I would stay again as like the quietness of this hotel and it has a beautiful ambience. You can also cross the bridge to the river restaurants very easily too. Kyoto is simply stunning and this hotel ticks lots of boxes .

The hotel is nested in a quiet corner, within walking distance of Sagaogurayama Tabuchiyamacho. Im however a bit disappointed with the limited facilites it offered when compared to the price we paid. We stayed in the Tsukinone Twin Room which is on the third floor of the building. The view is pleasant. The room is of decent size. Yet there were no public onsens. We need to pay YEN5000 for 45 minutes and there are only 2 private onsens. For more luxurious rooms with private onsen, the one I visited was on the ground level with no views as it were by the pathway to the reception , separated by wooden planks. We paid around Yen5000 for the breakfast in the hotel, Both western and japanese breakfasts were offered. We tried both. It is of standard. The 4 different juices presented on the top of the bento box was impressive. The vaccinity is pleasant. We could walk to the train station, the tourist rown area , the nearby parks and the world heritage sites. Nice area .

The hotel is very clean and well-maintained. The location is excellent, just a short walk from Kyoto Station, making it very convenient for traveling. It is located right opposite Kyoto Station Hachijo East Exit, with Avanti Mall just next to it, so everything you need is nearby. There is another Keihan Hotel in the same area, which may be slightly confusing at first. However, the hotel is actually very easy to find — just exit Kyoto Station, turn left, and you will see it next to Avanti Mall. The hotel also provides skincare products from KOSE, which is a very nice and thoughtful touch. Overall, I had a very pleasant stay and would definitely recommend this hotel to other travelers.

Every time I visit Kyoto these past few years, I always stay at this hotel. The location is excellent, right in Sanjo Kawaramachi, very close to the Kamo River. There are tons of shopping and dining options nearby. The hygiene is good, and toiletries can be conveniently picked up from the lobby. The room attendants are warm, attentive, and polite. However, the service standard of the lobby staff has declined; they just get the job done. Also, because the hotel is in a bustling area, there's always a huge crowd coming and going, which can be a bit annoying after a while. What I really need to complain about is the duvet. The fabric isn't 100% cotton, and there's a thin sheet liner inside, so it always ends up a mess by morning. This time, I was smarter and brought my own duvet cover, but it still didn't solve the problem. When I took it apart, I realized the duvet cover and duvet weren't secured with ties. For the rest of my stay, I had to make the bed myself to sleep more comfortably.

The hotel's location is convenient. Although the room was small, it was clean. Since we were out all day, the small room wasn't an issue. One large suitcase was fine, but two would have been a struggle. My only complaint is the breakfast. I was surprised to find it was just a boxed meal (one day Japanese, one day Western), and the dining area was tiny, right next to check-in. The price difference between rooms with and without breakfast was about ¥200 per person, which feels like a rip-off for what you get. I barely ate any of it. There are plenty of coffee shops (with breakfast options) and good bakeries right outside the hotel. If you have any expectations for breakfast, I'd really advise against wasting your money on it here.

Hotel is pretty big as I feel the distance walking from elevator to room, decent size rooms with windows that can be opened for maybe 3 inches(?) Enough pillows and quiet room for good rest and also nice public areas with lotsa greens. Rooms need to be more throughly cleaned though as I found coffee/tea stains on the table top(not acceptable for hotels of this grade) The in room water dispenser is a great idea though. There's a bakery within the hotel itself thats open from breakfast if you are into convenience, delish but there are simply too many good bakeries(or other breakfast places) in Kyoto.

The hotel is decent overall. The rooms are small, but that’s pretty normal for Japan. Unfortunately, the sound of insulation is poor, you literally can hear everything happening in the hallway and even the neighbors upstairs. The bathroom ventilation is also extremely loud, and since you can hear it through the wall from the room, it gets quite annoying at night. At the same time, the ventilation in the room itself is not very good, so it often feels stuffy. The “city view” is basically just a questionable-looking building across the street. The drink vending machine was broken as well, although at least there was water available. Honestly, this feels more like a 3-star hotel than a 4-star one. On the positive side, there was a very pleasant Russian-speaking staff member at the front desk — Kirill!

I stayed here 10 years ago. The hotel looked exactly the same. It is a little bit on the old school side, but everything is clean and impeccable. The first day I arrived I had a stomach issue and the hotel was really kind and helped send fresh ginger tea up to my room and requested. They went out out of their way to find me fresh ginger. The second day I strained my back from lifting heavy luggage. They are once again very kind and send a staff to help me pack all my belongings and help me coordinate sending my luggage to Tokyo so I don’t need to lift it on the train. Special thanks to Naing Thiri who is so kind and help me pack everything so neatly and even help me get dressed Honestly, when I first checked in and the hotel looks a little bit outdated I was thinking maybe next day I would not want to come back but with the great service, I would definitely stay here again if I come to Kyoto

The most convenient part is the hotel's shuttle bus, which departs for Kyoto Station at 55 minutes past the hour, making it easy to explore nearby attractions. It returns from Kyoto Station at 25 minutes past the hour. The driver was very steady and polite. The breakfast was especially good; the hotel offers a wide variety, including Wagyu beef, grilled salmon, and both rice porridge and Western-style buffet options. The fruit was fresh every day, with sweet strawberries and pineapples. The downside is that the laundry room was under renovation when I visited, so self-service laundry wasn't available. Also, I noticed a lingering smell of renovation, perhaps because the room hasn't been occupied much, leading to less ventilation. The surrounding environment is very quiet.

The onsen was also very comfortable and relaxing — it was the perfect way to unwind after a long day. The hotel's location is quite good, and watching the sunset from the courtyard is truly beautiful. Perhaps because it was the off-season, the entire hotel felt very quiet, comfortable, and relaxing. The staff at reception were all very welcoming, and their attention to detail was excellent. Breakfast was relatively average, nothing special but perfectly adequate. The hot springs were quite comfortable, and not crowded at all. There are both indoor and outdoor options, and soaking in the outdoor springs when there's a big temperature difference is really pleasant. The only downside was that after a day of activities, I wanted to take a bath, but found a very noticeable hair from a previous guest in the bathtub that hadn't been cleaned. I contacted the front desk, and they sent someone up to clean it, which took about 20 minutes to resolve.

Overall, my stay at the Kyoto Arala Hotel was pretty good. The hotel is conveniently located just a few minutes' walk from Kyoto Station, making it super easy to get to various attractions and transfer to other transportation. There are also plenty of convenience stores and drugstores nearby, which is very handy. The room layout was well-designed, and the bedding was comfortable, so I slept really well during my stay. The hotel's on-site hot spring was a major highlight; soaking in it after a day of sightseeing completely washed away my fatigue. The staff were friendly and helpful, and both check-in and check-out were quick. All the facilities were excellent. I particularly appreciated the front desk service that allowed me to courier my luggage from Kyoto to Tokyo, saving me from having to lug my suitcase on the Shinkansen, which was incredibly convenient. The only downside was the extremely slow and unstable Wi-Fi in the room. Streaming videos, browsing the web, and even replying to WeChat messages often resulted in buffering or no connection at all. For all four days, I had to use my own mobile data in the room, and I really hope they can improve this aspect. Putting the Wi-Fi issue aside, this hotel offers great overall value for money.

What really annoyed me was the slightly plump young lady at the front desk who checked me in. There was absolutely no verbal communication throughout the whole process; she just used gestures to show me where to scan my passport or pointed to text for me to read, leaving me to guess what she meant. At first, I thought the hotel might be employing people with disabilities to get tax breaks, but then I realized she could nod or shake her head in response to my questions, proving at least her hearing was fine. Still, I'd suggest the hotel assigns staff who can communicate verbally to front desk duties. It would definitely improve the guest experience. After all, people are tired from traveling all day and don't want to play guessing games.

First off, the hotel's location is fantastic. There's a bus stop nearby with direct routes, plus a convenience store. I really enjoyed the hotel's large public bath; it was so relaxing to soak in the hot spring after walking 10,000-20,000 steps every day. The hotel is also very thoughtful – they provide fresh pajamas daily, and the room size is quite good. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. I stayed for 4 nights from January 4 to January 8, 2026. From the hotel, you can walk to Nijo Castle in about 10 minutes. There are many small convenience stores nearby (7-Eleven and the like), as well as two large supermarkets — Life is open until midnight, which is a huge plus. You can buy nice gifts for friends and family late in the evening without wasting daytime hours. The transportation access is great too: within a few minutes' walk there's a subway station and a JR line (convenient for coming from the railway station), and right next to the hotel there's a bus stop. This is important because Kyoto's sights are scattered all over the city, and you often need to use public transport or taxis. Speaking of taxis. Twice I asked the reception to call me a taxi, and both times the staff helped me — a huge thank you to them! It was especially important on the first day: thanks to a taxi, I made it to Kiyomizu-dera Temple in time and explored it without rushing. Check-in was very quick, and the staff explained where everything was. The room was quite spacious — or maybe it just felt that way. I comfortably unpacked my suitcase and took out everything I needed without feeling cramped. The room had all the essentials, and there were kettles near the elevator that you could take to your room if needed. I did, and had some tea before bed (on the first floor, you can grab a free tea bag if you don't have your own). The air conditioner worked for both cooling and heating — which was very useful on some evenings. Honestly, I only used the hotel to sleep, and it was perfectly fine. Every morning, breakfast is served on the first floor. To be honest, I expected something simple since the room rate was quite affordable. That's why the breakfast was such a pleasant surprise! My eyes wandered every morning at the variety of delicious food! A huge selection. Every day I had rice with various toppings, amazing salmon, cod, and various vegetables (the okra here was especially good). There's a small smoking room on the first floor with good ventilation. My overall impression of the hotel is extremely positive. I will definitely stay here again on my next visit to Kyoto.

We really enjoyed our 3 night stay here. The decor really added to the atmosphere of the place and there was a lovely communal area for relaxing. This offered different seating areas with access to free tea and coffee, a microwave and mini oven. The hotel is directly above a 7/eleven so it was very convenient for bringing in food to eat. There was a laundry room but it was very busy and the washing machine didn't sound very happy and the drying seemed to take people a long time. We were glad to have done washing before arriving here. The room was quite big and the bed was on a raised platform so cases could be stored underneath. It was very dark in the room because of the decor. We did sleep well. The bathroom was very modern and clean with a wet room style shower. All areas of the hotel were very clean throughout our stay and staff were visibly working to maintain a high standard. Kyoto was extremely busy at the time of our stay (during golden week) so we focused our visits to places that could be walked to or accessed from the Kiyomizu-Gojo Station on the Keihan Line. We did one trip that involved buses and it was horrendously busy with the longest queues at bus stops we've ever seen.

After exiting, you walk about a hundred meters along a corridor to another elevator that takes you to ground level. Cross a small bridge and an intersection, and you're at the hotel. This is incredibly convenient if you have large luggage. The hotel is situated on the northeast side of Osaka Castle Park, by a small bridge, so you can easily stroll along the castle moat anytime. Shopping and dining are also very convenient. Cross the overpass from the park's south exit, and you'll find Q's Mall. There are also countless restaurants if you walk to Kyobashi Station (and along the way). For airport transfers, take the JR line to Tennoji, then transfer to the JR Loop Line (red), and it's just six stops to Osakajokoen Station. The hotel's cleanliness and facilities are excellent, especially the soundproofing – it's very quiet. The mattress and pillows are just right, providing a great sleeping environment. The hotel service is highly professional, from the front desk and restaurant to the lobby and concierge. The breakfast is a rich blend of Western and Japanese styles (though the coffee was a bit weak). I stayed for seven nights in total and had a fantastic experience.

I saw online that it was renovated in 2023. We booked a triple room for our family of three, and it was a bit snug, but that's a minor point considering all the good things. We could still open our 28-inch suitcase in the hallway right outside the door. Downstairs, there are even manga comics to read – even though I can't understand Japanese, it's still a nice touch. They even have Kagura Hachi! It’s fantastic. I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time I'm in Osaka.

Highly recommend! First off, the location is fantastic. It's close to the subway, JR, Hankyu, and Hanshin lines, so you can get to surrounding cities and the airport without needing to transfer. Plus, you can choose the most cost-effective routes, saving both time and money. Secondly, for a hotel of this price in Japan, the room size is quite generous. You can easily open a 26-inch suitcase and still have room to move around, which is a big plus. Thirdly, downstairs there's a Lawson convenience store and a pharmacy, along with various small restaurants. Directly across the street is a shopping mall, and you can access the subway and train stations directly from its underground level, which is super convenient in the summer. Finally, I have to mention that the underground shopping mall's pathways are quite complex, so if you're directionally challenged, proceed with caution. Even with Google Maps, you'll still need a good sense of direction.

This is my second time staying at this hotel in Umeda, and check-in was very smooth. The lobby is on the 19th floor, and all the guest rooms are above the 21st floor. Floors 13-16 have dining options at the LUCA department store, which is also a good choice. The hotel offers great views; you can see mountains in the distance, though the window was a bit blurry on a rainy day. Daimaru department store is right on the 1st floor. Umeda has four train stations, and you can take the Midosuji Line (M line) four stops to Shinsaibashi or Namba for 240 yen – great for shopping and dining. On my last day, the HARUKA train took about an hour to the airport. Overall, it's incredibly convenient.

My family is lucky to stay at the 5th floor where there’s easy access to washing machine and water dispenser. The cleanliness of the bedroom: the bed a bit dusty, making my legs itchy. Toilet is small typical Japanese bathrooms. Luggage delivery wise, u need to scan a qrcode and do it ourselves and later pass to the front desk before 10am. Staff service is professional, speak short and sweet. Location wise is quite convenient. Walking distance to kuromon market and 10min walk to shinsaibashi from namba. From namba station to hotel, there’s a long walk so families with old members need to find a cab. Easy to get a cab or uber since hotel is located roadside. For a 4-star hotel with expensive room price, there’s many “self-service” and hygiene issues I don’t think is worth it.

Very easy and personal check in, lovely modern hotel. As far from traditional as it's possible to get but when you're going to universal studios and particularly if you've been used to small japanese hotel rooms and or beds in other cities, it's a welcome refreshment (noting we stayed in the king size room). We didn't take kids and it's clearly a family hotel - adults only were packed off to a separate part of the breakfast area. The breakfast was varied and whilst not my favourite offered a decent enough selection and takeaway coffee if you would like it. It served both japanese and (the local attempt at - as everywhere in Japan) western breakfast. Laundry facilities are the best we've seen so far - circa 12 machines (half wash half dry) but no changer for yen which is a pain (if you eat in universal city, change money at the arcade if you're willing to play a little there). Amazing location for universal studio (which is the only reason you'd be there) and we had lovely views of Nintendo World and Harry Potter from our room. Five minutes walk to the gate. Best thing they do compared to other options is start breakfast at 6am knowing many want to rush to the gate before 715am. Only the standard amenities but a nice moisturiser and the toilet was one of my top 3 (it's Japan, toilet ranking is a real thing) - they spare no expense in the room (although perhaps in the slightly plastic minion wallpapering elsewhere). Would stay again for universal but not for anything else - universal city train station is a bit gnarly as its a spoke off the main osaka loop - should be every 15 mins but out of service or cancelled train and you're stuck waiting 30 minutes. We got back from Dotonbori in 33 minutes so it can be done if you time it right.

Absolutely top-notch! I'd have to say that while it's incredibly convenient for USJ, other attractions are a tiny bit further out. I'm not giving it a perfect score just so they don't get too proud. Everything else was super, super, super satisfying! The hot springs are fantastic, with an open-air bath. The sauna was incredibly popular and packed, so I was a bit bummed I didn't get to use it. Plus, there's a relaxation area after the hot springs where you can enjoy the night view, which is also great. It's just a shame some couples, for whatever reason, didn't go back to their rooms and hogged the space there 😅. The razors come with soap! And the toothbrush cups are color-coded!!! These little details are truly amazing! They also gave two full-body 'Kyuusoku Jikan' patches. I happened to sprain my lower back that day, and after a hot spring soak, the sprained area got really warm. Luckily, they had these patches – even though they weren't medicated! They truly saved me. The next day, I could move freely and my trip wasn't disrupted at all! The bed was also super comfortable! And from the window, it was even a river view room 🤣. When I left the hotel on the second day, the lobby was changing its flower display to hydrangeas, and it always smelled lovely, not like a cheap air freshener. I seriously can't praise this place enough!!

One of the best hotel we stayed in Osaka. It's a great location to explore and if you are lucky you can spot some cool cars or motorcycle around the area. Especially near the American mura at night. We love to walk around and explore and came across the Liberty Walk Osaka. We took the ' Darth Vader' looking train from Kansai airport at the Nankai line. We spotted the Dainese shop from the train and went to check it out. They have some Valentino Rossi official merchandise. It's just below the Keihan hotel. Can't remember most of the road name but we were just walking about using Google map trying to check out the Osaka Loop where if ur lucky you could spot some cool cars and motorcycles.

The Imperial Hotel Osaka boasts an excellent location near Sakuranomiya Station, offering stunning river views from its upper floors and even a glimpse of Osaka Castle in the distance. Below, the riverside greenery and small beach create a serene and lovely atmosphere. The hotel has a vintage charm, and while some facilities show their age, it didn't detract from a comfortable stay. The mattress was just right – not too soft, not too firm – and even the single beds were spacious. Room insulation was good, and the shower had strong, hot water, which was very pleasant. However, the lighting was a bit dim, making it slightly inconvenient for getting ready. This visit was specifically to experience the 'Miyake' (a term for the three most prestigious hotels in Japan) level of service, and indeed, this venerable hotel delivered polite and thoughtful service without feeling overbearing. For instance, when checking out, knowing we had plenty of time before our flight and planned to explore Umeda further, they proactively reminded us about their shuttle service to the airport if we were heading there directly. When we said we were going to Umeda, they even asked if we'd like to leave our luggage at the hotel. They also directly helped us with calling a taxi, specifying the destination, and handling our luggage. I truly loved their Japanese staff! However, it seems the hotel has hired some South Asian staff for housekeeping. I noticed some dust on the glass shelf in the bathroom and on the TV cabinet. But these are minor issues, and overall, the cleaning was quite thorough.

The hotel's location is excellent, conveniently accessible from either Nippombashi or Nagahoribashi subway stations. The best option is Exit 10 at Nippombashi Station, which has an elevator – perfect if you have heavy luggage and want to avoid stairs. Dotonbori is right across the street from the hotel, and Shinsaibashi is also very close, making shopping incredibly convenient. You can even walk to Namba Station, though it's a bit further, where you'll find Takashimaya department store, which is great for browsing. The hotel has a hot spring bath, which is popular with Korean guests, and offers unlimited ice cream and Yakult! The front desk staff are warm and polite, and some even speak Chinese. There's a FamilyMart convenience store downstairs, making it super easy to grab snacks. The hotel breakfast is bountiful, and the cleanliness is impeccable. I'll definitely stay here again on my next visit.

I stayed at Hotel Monterey La Soeur Osaka and absolutely loved it. The hotel has a beautiful, slightly European Art Deco style and feels elegant from the moment you walk into the lobby. My room was spotless, cozy, and well-equipped, with a comfortable bed and a nice view of the city. Location is excellent – just a short walk to Osaka Business Park and within easy distance of Osaka Castle, so it’s very convenient for both sightseeing and business. The staff were genuinely kind, professional, and attentive. Check-in and check-out were smooth, and they were always ready to help with directions or questions. I also really enjoyed relaxing at the onsen/spa after a long day of walking. Overall, a wonderful stay with great atmosphere, good facilities, and warm Japanese hospitality. This hotel is fantastic! First, let's talk about the location: It's a super convenient 3-minute walk from Bentencho Station. We found it really easy to get to Kyoto and Nara from here. The hotel is next to a residential area, so it's quiet, and it was lovely to take a stroll around the neighborhood. Food and Drink: We didn't have breakfast at the hotel, but there's a coffee shop, a bakery, and a 7-Eleven in the atrium connecting the second floor of the hotel to the subway, so you'll never have trouble finding something to eat or drink. There's also a Udon noodle shop called 'Banya' nearby, and their tempura is delicious! Facilities: It has all the basic facilities. The self-service laundry room is on the basement floor. It costs 500 yen for a wash and dry, and the machine only accepts 100 yen coins, but thankfully there's a coin exchange machine in the laundry room too. However, the dryer didn't dry clothes completely, so we had to hang them to air dry in our room afterward. There are vending machines on every floor, which is handy for buying drinks. View: Absolutely stunning! Because of the hotel's height, you get a beautiful view of Osaka Bay, it's truly gorgeous! Service: The front desk staff were excellent. Even if their English wasn't perfect, they were incredibly patient and made a great effort to answer and resolve our questions. Thumbs up! 👍 All in all, I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time I'm in Osaka. 😄

Had an enjoyable stay here at Mercure! Amenities were complete, housekeeping & receptionists were friendly and able to converse in English which made our stay more pleasant. Location of the hotel is sooo convenient. - a 10-min walk from Shinsaibashi/Namba station - has family mart and donki nearby - taxi fare from the hotel to Nankai Namba Station (for the airport) was 1,400 won - all you have to do is cross the main road and you’ll already arrive at Shinsaibashi shopping street! My luggage was also damaged during my flight to Osaka, so the staff politely helped to handle the disposal of my luggage for free. The only thing that slightly bothered me was the superrrr dark lighting in the room. There were times I had to use my phone’s flashlight to find things but it was still bearable for me. Overall, thank you, Mercure :)

This is a really great hotel, and it's our second time staying here as a family. It's super close to the city center of Namba, and there are so many department stores with fantastic shopping. When the kids get tired in the afternoon, they can easily rest up. It's also convenient to just buy some wagyu or seafood from the Takashimaya supermarket and cook it yourself. This was my first time choosing the two-bedroom, one-living room, two-bathroom layout. It's a bit of a shame that the master bedroom faces the elevated highway, which unfortunately generated quite a bit of vehicle wind noise. If you're sensitive to noise, you might want to avoid the two-bedroom, one-living room, two-bathroom units, or request a higher floor.

I originally booked a W Suite and arrived at 12 PM hoping to secure a high-floor room, but was only given the 8th floor. So, I paid more to upgrade to a Marvelous Suite. Honestly, the hardware facilities are excellent, but! If you want to experience differential treatment, this W is the place to be. First, someone else's laundry was mistakenly delivered to our suite. When I told the front desk, they were dismissive, merely saying someone would come to collect it, without even an apology. Later, while we were out, they left two boxes of Pocky biscuits... truly perfunctory. Then, we went to the Living Room on the third floor for drinks, and the server was practically bowing to Caucasian guests, while being very dismissive towards us. Around 10 PM, I called their 24/7 Whatever/Whenever service for an extra duvet, and they told me they had none left. The next day, I ordered room service through the Bonvoy app, and since I couldn't find the order on the web version, I called again to confirm. They said they'd call me back after checking with room service, but the meal arrived and I never got a call back. It felt like they didn't care about their guests at all. Also, the suite's minibar is entirely chargeable, and there are no additional services. It really felt like I paid a hefty price just to rent the room itself. I can't really praise the service from a five-star Marriott-branded hotel. This review is a heads-up for anyone considering booking this hotel. Though I doubt W Osaka will care about my review; they're always fully booked and don't lack customers. Oh, and the front desk concierge who spoke Chinese were all from Taiwan.

The hotel location is great and easy to walk around exploring right in the middle of the city and you will find this gem ramen store open 24/7! The only disappointment was with the butler service or more the non existent butler service. For the price we are paying, I expected much much more from St Regis as I have been accustomed to at other St Regis Hotels. The hotel is beginning to show its age and hence the cleanliness part is coming into question when our rooms were being cleaned, I mean I am again nit picking here but it isn’t up to St Regis usual standards. The gym room is adequate but there isn’t a pool in a 5 star hotel 🙃.

Getting to Kobe and Kyoto is also easy, taking only 1-1.5 hours.

Locals don’t usually come here to sleep — they come to wash, relax, and go through the full spa ritual. There are three types of steam rooms, a circular shower, and three baths: two hot ones at around 41°C, and one cold shock bath at around 11°C. You dip in and instantly feel alive. One unique feature — every hour they run a group steam ritual, like a collective massage & heat therapy session. Very Japanese, and surprisingly affordable. Definitely worth trying. There’s also an inexpensive breakfast option, plus vending machines with food and drinks right inside — very convenient. Overall, it’s a men-only vibe: arrive, clean up, relax, reset, and go about your day. The capsule is just a bonus on top of the sauna experience. They give you clothing — not a robe, but loose Japanese pants and an oversized T-shirt. You get your own locker, bedding and clothes are changed daily, and the bathrooms have literally everything: toothbrush, toothpaste, gels, shampoo… even nail clippers. You don’t need to bring anything. Location is fantastic — right next to Dotonbori. Step outside and you’re instantly in the heart of Osaka’s nightlife and energy. Downsides? A strict checkout — you must leave at 10:00 AM, and check-in starts only after 3:00 PM. If you want to stay during that gap, it’s around 300 yen per hour, or ~900 yen for the day. Still — great experience. I always wanted to try a real Japanese capsule stay. Inside the capsule there’s a TV, radio, adjustable lights, and AC — though it blasts pretty strongly, so I turned it off.

The hotel room isn't huge, but it's clean and tidy, the towels are fluffy, and the air conditioning works great. The only downside was a dripping sound in the bathroom of my room, 703.

Right next to Shin-Imamiya subway station, so getting around is incredibly convenient. The front desk staff rotate, with two people on duty at a time, including locals, Chinese, Koreans, and Indians. There's a women's shower on the 4th floor, men's showers on the 6th, and a men's bathhouse and microwave on the 10th. Downstairs, there are convenience stores, pharmacies, and places to eat nearby. The room was super small, but quite clean, and they provided towels and plastic slippers. Because it's close to the train tracks, there's a bit of noise. Plus, there's some noise from motorbikes speeding by. I stayed for 3 days, and there was hardly any noise from other guests.

The room looked new, were clean, quiet and relatively spacious for up to 2 people. By relatively spacious, I could leave open a suitcase on the couch at the foot of the bed without having too much issues moving about. The toilet was the standard Japanese style inbuilt capsule with the auto-washing WCs and nice-smelling shower gel, shampoo n conditioner. Other amenities, like toothbrush, lotion, shaver, cotton buds, etc. can be self-picked at the lobby for free. For the rate I paid, it’s definitely great value! Highly recommended for couples seeking a short stay.

This hotel is right next to Namba Shrine and super close to the W Osaka hotel; I could always find it by looking for the W hotel's sign. It's also very near Shinsaibashi, about a 20-minute walk to the iconic Glico Running Man sign and only about 15 minutes to the liveliest shopping area. There are plenty of convenience stores and various small shops nearby, making shopping and dining incredibly easy. The room, as expected, was 'Japanese-style compact' (read: on the smaller side 😂), but impeccably clean. The bidet was a great bonus. The hot water was wonderfully soothing – perfect for unwinding after a long day out. As a relatively new hotel in Japan, the internet speed was excellent, suitable for both work and streaming. The breakfast, while not as varied as some domestic hotels, was more than satisfying for my needs. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay, and I would definitely come back if I have the chance.

The South Asian gentleman who checked us in was very efficient and communicated well in English. The room size was decent, especially good for Japan, with enough space in the aisle to fully open a 20-inch suitcase. Housekeeping made our beds daily. I'm not sure if the sheets weren't changed or if it was an issue with the bedding itself, but on one occasion, we found a small amount of hair accumulated in the corner of the bedsheet. The hotel breakfast was a buffet, offering both Japanese and Western options, and we were very satisfied with it throughout our stay. At one point, my friend bought instant noodles but forgot to ask for a fork at the convenience store. We called the front desk from our room to request disposable chopsticks, and the entire conversation was in English, very smooth and efficient. The hotel's location is also incredibly convenient, situated in the large commercial and transportation hub of Umeda. Directly opposite the hotel is a pedestrian street bustling with dining and entertainment options. Furthermore, if you're taking the train, you can reach the hotel lobby directly from Exit 7-72 of the Whity Umeda underground passage, which saved us from braving the cold winter winds above ground. Regarding the price, thanks to booking in advance, we were very happy with what we paid. If the price is right next time, we would definitely consider staying at this hotel again.
