PPengguna TetamuWe just had an amazing 5 day stay! We had a family group of 8 (multi-generations) and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. The cabins were perfect, with comfy beds, nice linen, small kitchen with all the essentials, and a bathroom. The communal areas were lovely and clean and well equipped. Nice communal lounge with a fire place. The big pool was heated and the thermal hot pools were awesome! Kids had fun on the trikes and the bouncing pillow. The staff were very helpful, the housekeeping staff were fantastic. Thanks Tasman Bay!
We stayed here for 3 nights and we wish it was for longer. Our room (#4) had breathtaking lake views from both our sitting room and the bedroom. The staff could not have done anymore for us from recommending things to do, to Mel finding us a DVD to watch the first Lord Of The Rings as we were off to the Hobbiton tour, well worth doing, to Nicky giving us food to go feed the donkeys and sheep they have onsite. (Kids would love this, we did as adults). We had dinner at the restaurant and the lamb was slightly chewy, but the seared tuna was amazing and the breakfasts were the best. We gave the gold star to the chef for our poached eggs, as they were the best we had on our NZ holiday. I had to unexpectedly print a document off and scan it and the girls in the office couldn’t have been more helpful, thank you Sam and cheers to Helen who does a wonderful job in the garden, the grounds are beautiful. The entire place has a wonderful vibe and we enjoyed sitting by the fire enjoying our time here. The staff are like a little family with Nicky bringing her own coffee machine from home to cover their one being serviced. This speaks volumes of the culture and spills over into the service we received. I also mentioned the bed pillows were a bit soft, and housekeeping left firmer ones after cleaning our room, just lovely and we loved our stay - thank you.
Visited the campsite in December, and it was pretty busy. Lucky for us, they let us camp out on the rugby fields, which was nice and away from the crowd. No regular bathrooms up there, just some decent portapotties that were well maintained. Down at the main site, there was this funky smell, probably from the dumpstation nearby. Facilities were good, but the hot pools were not hot. Overall, a pretty descent stay.
Okataina Lakes Lodge / 27 September 2024 Finally on our long awaited break, and home free, a truely great location, right on the waters edge, just my beautiful wife and me. The lake water lapping, the Tui in full song, the brisk natural fresh air, perfect for relaxing all day long. The peaceful bush walks, the welcoming glow worms, the amazing stunning sunsets and the occasional lake bird squarks. With the most comfiest super king beds, and oodles of space in our room, such welcoming friendly hosts, a perfect combo….boom!! The drive not an issue, no restaurant, no stress, they gave plenty of warning and we came well prepared. A stay I will always remember, such a soleful, relaxing, stunning place, we totally recommend a few nights stay here to escape your own rat race We will be back without hesitation, to a place you can easily find zen, thank you so much for opening this up to the public, a pure unassuming and easy 10 out of 10. NNiagacityThe place is great. However the downside is the there is only 1 bathroom. If you stay at the place in a group, then showering will take ages as you hv to share the 1 bathroom. It would also be good to have a toilet bidet.
