The location was good at Centre of many attractions. Easy to walk around. Many foodie shops to eat. Transport also available nearby, so easy to catch a bus.
The rooms are well maintained and clean. The occupants also kept noise level low and not disturbing others. The bedsheets looks clean and no bad smells. The whole room is less with lights maybe purposely, so couldn't see much. And the visibility is low.
For the that money you paid, for that location it's recommended. Anyway what you pay, what you get. No worries, no complaints.
One thing that I would like to highlight is the stairs that you have to.climb up, especially if you carry a big backpack. It's in 3rd floor. No lifts. Go up and down, for some exercise. Hahaha.....
Anyway, thanks.
After you go around see the beautiful city, beautiful *******, you forget everything. Cheers.....

JJamesnzThis is my second stay here. It's in a good location next to a coffee shop and circle K and near the Sé cathedral. Unfortunately since I stayed last time they've switched to using disposable towels and disposable bedsheets which are not very good. Please change back to proper towels and sheets, makes it so much nicer. It's also quite noisy in my room, I stayed on the ground floor next to the lifts and there were people shouting in the reception at night which woke me up several times.
JJulia031089If you consider booking Pensao Carmen, you should know that on the signage of the hotel it’s NOT Pensao Carmen! Remember that, otherwise you’re gonna have a hard time looking for this place)) I’ll add photos of the actual signage.
Pros: conveniently located in Macau’s old town, it takes around 10 minutes to get to The Ruins of St.Paul on foot, and all other historical sites are just around.
The staff was very friendly and helpful, even if they didn’t speak English at all. I met the three of them and all were old ladies, super nice and cute. I left my luggage after check-out for the whole day before moving to Coloane village hotel.
The bed sheets were of good quality and very clean, I enjoyed my sleep after a tiring flight. The bed, though, was kinda hard, not for everyone, but my back was grateful)) pillows were also comfortable, better than at some much more expensive hotels.
You can get as much water as you want from the water station at the corridor.
There’s a bus station 5 minutes walking from the hotel, the name is Ponte 16, it’s right in front of the famous Sofitel.
CONS: The hotel is located on the second floor, there’s no elevator, so you have to carry your luggage up there.
My room was tiny, it’s really just for one person. The bed is kinda short, for me it was enough but I think a taller person might not feel comfortable enough there (my height is 162 cm)
The bathroom is tiny, too, and given its dark green design, it looks rather dirty. I’m not sure if it was, but I found someone’s tooth brush in the shower and some hair in the drainage. Yuck!! Only one big towel was clean though.
All in all, I didn’t expect much from it so neither should you 🤩
AAnonymous UserThis is my second time staying at this hotel. It's right next to the Lower Market and very close to the bus stop, making it convenient to get anywhere. The front desk requires a 100 deposit, and they accept RMB, HKD, or MOP. The decor is relatively new, and the cleanliness is good. I'll consider staying here again next time I'm in Macau.
CClaire ArranguezThis was our second time checking in at this hotel. First was in 2018 and it's way cleaner than it is now. However, location's right in Senado Square, close to main attractions in Taipa. The room was also spacious, as well as the beds. Another big con is the floors reeking of cigarette smoke despite the signs of NO SMOKING. They should impose it stricter to avoid affecting non-smoking individuals. The carpets need a good replacement. If this hotel cleans their room better, the standard will so much better as well! A small fridge will also be very helpful. Every hotel room should have them now, I believe. Nonetheless, it's enough for a place to rest.
GGuest UserWe stayed for two nights. We did know that they only provide disposal towels so we brought our own. What we did not expect was disposable bed sheets (pic). It was very uncomfortable feeling on the skin, made me sweat like crazy probably because of the plastic like fabric. It also ripped during the first night, I expected it to get exchanged when they bring new water (it’s very common to get two water bottles per night) but it didn’t. So we were left with the ripped disposable sheets and the actual blanket came through. That made me think how often that must have happened before: the people start to sweat (macau is warm and kinda humid) into the actual blanket which is probably never cleaned because of the disposable sheets. Next guests the same thing happens, so basically everyone is sleeping under the same blanket. Doesn’t seem very hygienic to me.
Also the bed was very hard (even for Asian standards). My partner and I are both under 25 and had back pain the next morning.
The whole hotel and also the room was very humid, smelled like cigarettes/cigar and you can’t open any windows, not even partially.
Otherwise it does look like the pictures and the rest of the room/bath was clean except for the smell and probably the bed. Also the location is very convenient.
If I wanted to visit macau again I would probably get a hotel in Zhuhai (mainland china) which is less expensive and locals told us there is a 24h border control and the whole process only takes about 10min.
GGuest UserThis hotel made our Macau trip absolutely fantastic! It's super close to the Gongbei Border, making it incredibly convenient for getting around. The room was huge and spotless, and having two bathrooms was a real bonus. They even included breakfast for the next day, and the front desk offered free luggage storage. Lynn, Lewis, and Lisa at the front desk were all wonderful. I'll definitely choose this place again for my next stay!
GGuest UserThe room was a bit small, but the two beds were just enough for three of us. It was a very quiet room, located at the corner of the hallway, room 518. There's a 24-hour supermarket downstairs, which was super convenient for grabbing things. A short walk away, you'll find a tea restaurant and a bus stop. Before coming, I had specifically looked into reviews for hotels in Macau, as many guests reported getting bitten by bed bugs or fleas, but this place was exceptionally clean. I was very satisfied with my stay.
BBuanfangdemeishaonianThe hotel's location is great, making it super easy to get to the Ruins of St. Paul's. The light rail station is just a few steps away, and it's only an 8-minute ride to Parisian Macao. The front desk staff were very welcoming and even lent me a charging cable. The room was clean and spacious, and I was pleasantly surprised to find a drying rack – so convenient!
CChenchendemeihaoshenghuoI chose the Hou Kong Hotel this time and was very satisfied. You can take bus 25 from The Venetian to Shui Kang Mei, and the hotel is right across the road. The soundproofing is excellent; with the windows closed, you barely hear a thing. A special thanks to the two front desk staff, Picky and Edie, who were very kind, enthusiastic, and had a great attitude! There are also plenty of dining options around the hotel!
KKuailexiaoxingfu110My friend and I decided to visit Macau together. We initially planned for a day trip and then head back to Shenzhen, but we were a bit tired, so we ended up booking a room at the same hotel as her. I only saw the cheap price, but it turned out the bed was 0.9 meters wide. Still, it was perfectly fine for one person. The best thing about this hotel is its incredibly convenient location. There are several good-looking eateries downstairs, and it's only a three-stop bus ride to Wynn Palace. Coming from the border gate, it's about five or six stops. The front desk staff were all very attentive. Of course, prices are a bit higher than on the mainland, but that's Macau for you – every inch of land is precious.
It's a small place, but it has everything you need, pretty good overall. In the afternoon, I went for a stroll and did some shopping. There are lots of gold shops and small stores nearby that are worth browsing.
