I really liked this hostel. It was large and very interesting, and located near the train station, a few restaurants and convenience stores, and a nice little park/walking area dedicated to Emperor Wu of Han. The beds were comfortable and the pods were spacious. You do have to make them yourself, but it's not difficult to do so. 0The staff didn't speak much English, but they were still very nice and helpful. The showers were hot and clean. However, for Westerners, there is one major minus - no Western toilets. I can squat with the best of them, but if you absolutely need to sit, this may not be the hotel for you.

Could not recommend this hostel enough! The owner and staff were extraordinary kindhearted and went above and beyond to show us their hospitality and culture. It was our first day in china and they introduced us to their local cuisine and helped us get accustomed to the place, showing us around the beautiful town centre. The rooms themselves were lovely and heated with spacious beds that had privacy via a well fitted curtain. I slept for 12 hours in total, they were so comfortable! This was also due to the late check out of 2 o clock, a definite plus! The hostel was very well equipped with a kitchen, washing machine, decorated communal area and a beautiful glass library room with lots of books. This room was one of my favourites with lots of natural light and lovely heat for a cold march! The hostel was well situated with a convenience store a few meters walk and tourist attractions nearby! I’d really recommend to all travellers especially those whose first time it is in china! Yining and this hostel and staff offer so much!

Zaynap and Yi were so amazing they are so helpful for food recommendations, border crossing information and overall very friendly. They made the stay very much fun. Until next time!

I assume this is one top accommodation for foreign guests coming to Yining. I appreciated the host's assistance very much. Thank to them, my trip was done well. Room is nice, good location which is near many food shop and on walking distance to Liuxing street as well as Ili passenger terminal for your daytour. And one bonus, it's quite near the airport that costs you less but more convenient!

Super nice hostel in the old city with a peaceful vibe. The rooms are excellent value for money, clean and well equipped. I had the best night's sleep I had in ages. The hostel is built around a courtyard with mature trees in the centre which keeps it cool in the day. There is a well equipped kitchen, free laundry and the atmosphere is friendly. If you are cycling or on a motorbike you can store these safely in the courtyard.

Very nice hostel, it's located within the vibrant part of the old city. Look out for the orange sign above since it's just located at an obscured corner! At night the surrounding area is full of lights.

Nice quiet hostel where it is easy to relax. The bed is comfy, no gas to cook but there is hot water a microwave and a few other appliances you can use. It's a bit away from the ancient city but there are plenty of other shopping streets nearby. I left my bike outside the door because it's a very safe area. There were some very friendly people in the hostel who helped me navigate the Chinese way of doing things. It's really good value staying here, would recommend. Message them if you have difficult finding the place.

Location I’m the heart of the old city was great, if a little difficult to find: the street sign uses a different name to the listing on trip.com. There’s a fairly slobby common room next to reception where people are encouraged to sing dreadful karaoke until all hours of the morning. This might be right up your street, but if you want to sleep and your room is near that area then you can think again!
