The BEST hostel I’ve been in my 7 countries Asian trip. The location, the services, the cleaniliness, the attention, all were great. The hotel is on a renovated old building with exquisite details and curated decoration elements. Everything is clean. The rooms are comfortable and the beds are big enough to have your small backpack in it. There’s a curtain for privacy and it wasn’t crowded. The other guest were very mindful of others. This hotel is relatively new, they opened in Nov 2025 so, it’s still getting known in the travel world. You can use the kitchen that has all the implements to cook, store items in the fridge and prepare a breakfast with ingredients that the hotel provides… free, great breakfast! If you need a towel they give you one at no charge… for now. The location is great. You can walk to the old town of the city and Concubine ln. It’s a really nice walk. That part of the city saw a past splendor and the buildings show it. There are several restaurants around, even some fast food. Two things I would review if I was the owner… I waited for an hr before getting my room while other people got settled immediately. My dorm only had 2 ppl in it, the room was ready when I got there. If you have a bed available, just give away even when there’s no the time. It means a lot to the guest that in general has been traveling long hrs, especially if it’s a small place with not many people. The other thing is to teach us (ignorant westerners), how to use the electric shower heater. I couldn’t make it work because I couldn’t find the on/off button. A small sign could have solved my and others’ frustrations. The owners are doing an excellent job at the hotel. I’m planning to come back so I’ll be a guest again at the Brownstone.

The facilities and the service in the hostel are good. The room condition is subjective. 1. The damage is not fixed before opening for the next customer use. Not affect the use of the room but is a bad presentation. 2. The curtain rail rack for the lower bed is not concealed, with a screw expose could cause the upper bed user easily get cut which happen to my daughter. 3. When renovation works are off, there is no immediate cleaning of the common area cause the whole place dusty especially the floor. I think the cleaner did come in to mop the floor later. 4. The noise from the neighboring nightclub hopefully they can be off before 2 am.

Saya menikmati dua hari yang sangat selesa di sini. Biliknya bersih, luas, dan lapang, dan selimut serta semuanya berbau harum. Saya tidak dapat menemui sebarang kekurangan. Satu-satunya rungutan kecil ialah sesetengah tetamu agak bising, walaupun pada tengah malam. Saya harap kaunter penerimaan tetamu dapat mengingatkan semua orang untuk diam semasa mendaftar masuk. Resepsionis sangat ramah dan dengan sabar menjelaskan semuanya kepada saya. Ia benar-benar hotel kecil kegemaran saya di Malaysia. Saya sangat berterima kasih kepada semua orang di Miners' Home kerana menyediakan persekitaran yang sempurna dan selesa.

Saya orang Jepun, tetapi semasa saya tinggal di sana, terdapat ramai tetamu Barat. Secara keseluruhan, saya sangat mengesyorkan hotel ini. Lokasinya berpusat, sempurna, kemudahannya bersih, dan terdapat air panas. Jika saya tinggal lagi, saya akan mengesyorkan hari Selasa atau Jumaat. Terdapat pasar malam, jadi anda boleh menikmatinya bersama tetamu lain.

Hostel located in the heart of tourist spots. Famous eateries like Tuck Kee, Lou Wong are all walking distance. Superb location for an affordable price! Not to mention Suky was very helpful and attentive, she had reached out to me first on check-in details before I could ask her anything. The only down side of the hostel is probably the street noise. It doesn't really bother me anyway however those who need perfect silence to sleep will probably need ear plugs. Overall, I'm happy with the stay and will definitely come back again if I happen to visit Ipoh!

Lokasinya sangat baik kerana berdekatan dengan stesen kereta api, Dewan Bandaraya (bangunan klasik yang tersergam indah dari zaman penjajahan British), Concubine Lane (Lorong Besar/Kedua/Third), dan restoran popular seperti Nam Heong Tea House, Sin Yuen Lung Tea House, Puding Tauhu Ding Feng Teochew, Lao Wong atau An Kee Bean Bean Soodle Shop, Lao Wong atau An Kee Bean Bean Soodle. Bakery... Saya anggarkan 5-20 minit berjalan kaki ke semua tarikan yang saya rancang untuk melawat. Rumah tamu ini dibuka pada 2024, jadi kemudahannya masih baru. Peralatan tempat tidurnya selesa, dengan cadar putih dan tuala tebal. Terdapat sembilan bilik mandi berkongsi untuk wanita, jadi anda tidak perlu risau untuk berkongsi. Terdapat dispenser air panas dan sejuk serta peti sejuk... Bagi pengembara yang ingin berehat dan melancong, ini adalah rumah tamu yang sangat menjimatkan kos. Kakitangannya ramah dan membantu, mengesyorkan restoran berdekatan dan juga memberi saya penyumbat telinga, yang saya, sebagai orang yang banyak tidur, tidak perlukan sama sekali. Saya pada asalnya bercadang untuk menginap satu malam, tetapi selepas mengalaminya secara langsung, saya dapati ia tidak seperti gambar-gambar itu telah mengelirukan saya, jadi saya melanjutkan penginapan saya selama dua malam lagi untuk benar-benar merasai... kepesatan kehidupan di Ipoh.
