"Initially, I worried the room might be cramped when booking, but upon checking in, I found there was ample space to open my luggage. There was even a thoughtful sign suggesting we could slide our suitcases under the bed for more room. The hangers in our room were conveniently located right by a window that could be partially opened, which was perfect as clothes I washed would dry overnight.
I really enjoyed their breakfast. It featured miso soup, rice, and even sashimi, which was a welcome change from typical Western breakfast spreads and perfect for a Chinese palate.
A noteworthy perk is that the hotel offers complimentary hot and cold beverages like tea and coffee every afternoon. Additionally, during certain hours, they provide a selection of wines and nuts, functioning almost like a complimentary bar. The best part is, it's all completely free! After a day of sightseeing, returning to the hotel, we always made it a habit to grab a drink there before heading back to our room."

GGuitianzhiyiThe location is absolutely superb. It's within walking distance of Ninen-zaka and Sannen-zaka, and Kiyomizu-dera Temple and Yasaka Shrine are also just about 1 km away. Kenchō-ji Temple is right on its doorstep, making it perfect for a morning or evening stroll.
As for the hotel itself, it's truly exquisite. The lobby and interior design are very sophisticated, and the rooms are generously sized – a genuine rarity in Japan.
They even have a dedicated hot spring bath (onsen) that's available all night. After a day of intense sightseeing and walking, soaking in it is pure bliss.
Even better, the hotel is adjacent to Gion-do. I suspect breakfast is prepared by their chefs, which is a definite perk!
Overall, the value for money is exceptional, and it absolutely justifies the room rate.

GGuest UserOnline hotel bookings can often feel like a blind box draw, but Dusit Thani was definitely the right pick. Every staff member I encountered had an excellent attitude, the room was spotless, and even though the turndown service only provided a bottle of water, it was a pleasant and thoughtful touch. Thai brands truly excel in their service consciousness and aesthetic sense. The room itself was incredibly comfortable, and with no other guests in the public lobby areas, I thoroughly enjoyed the bliss of reading a book alone.

LLinxianshengguahuziFacilities: The hotel is well-equipped with amenities such as a gym, laundry room, and ice machines, though they are a bit on the smaller side. The rooms are quite spacious, and the bathrooms even feature separate wet and dry areas. However, the corner room I chose required a bit of a walk to get to.
Service: The staff were very friendly and attentive, upholding the high standards typical of service in Kyoto. A late check-out until 12 PM was a nice bonus.
Location: The location is average. There's a Karasuma Subway Station nearby, which you typically need to use for transfers when exploring the city. For everyday essentials and conveniences, there's a supermarket, Starbucks, and Blue Bottle Coffee all close by. However, finding a decent restaurant after 7:30 PM requires a bit of a walk.

GGuest UserThis hotel boasts an excellent location, being just a block away from the base of Kiyomizu-dera Temple. Gion is also easily accessible with about a 20-minute walk. The hotel is immaculately clean, and the soundproofing is superb; even with a live band playing in the lobby, we couldn't hear any noise from our room. The staff were all incredibly courteous and polite. Breakfast is a combination of à la carte and buffet, and the Western breakfast options were quite good. Overall, a fantastic experience.

AAkexMalnThe location is excellent, very close to the Kyoto Railway Museum, with convenience stores conveniently located in the area. The hotel was spotless. While rooms don't have bathtubs, there's a public bath available, which was rarely crowded and very comfortable.
The window view was fantastic. The front desk staff were incredibly cheerful and helpful, fluent in English, and luggage storage was readily available. The hotel also provides its own maps and magazines, and the book selection in the reading corner was excellent.

GGuest UserThe hotel is just one subway stop from Kyoto Station to Gojo. Take Exit 1, and it's a mere 3-minute walk. The breakfast was average, with mostly Western guests during our stay. A great perk is the large public bath on the basement floor, where complimentary ice cream and coffee are also available. Plus, the hotel is quite close to the Kamo River, easily reachable on foot!

KKar ChunRoom was spacious. After moving the furniture to the corner, the space was enough for 1x 28inch n 1x 24inch luggage to be opened. The room seems to be very dusty as I started having sore throat and cough which lasted throughout my stay.
The toilet door hinge strip was also full of dust. The wooden partition that separates the window from the room was also dusty due to the checkered design.
In the laundry room, the circular mouth and door of the washing machine was also dusty and dirty. I had to be very careful when taking out my clean laundry. Location was good.

LLynn AvieWe stayed here for 3 nights and it was quite an enriching experience having to sleep on a Japanese style bed. Initially we were stunned by the mattresses and set up as we forgot that we booked the Japanese beds, but it exceeded our expectations as we slept pretty well on it. The blanket was HEAVENLY & FLUFFY - an absolute joy. Definitely a thing I missed when I returned home. The toilets were decent and the showerhead water flow was good.
Service wise - the rooms were cleaned daily and they did help keep the mattresses during the day. We also paid to have a 40mins private onsen experience for about 500 yen. Pretty alright, esp if you would enjoy some privacy. Do reserve beforehand with the front desk. Additionally, the staff were able to converse in many languages & were always very helpful! :)
Location wise - it's pretty convenient & accessible. We were surrounded by lots of cafes & shops that we can explore just by walking around the neighbourhood. Many temples & tourist spots were within walking distance too.
The only irk we had was the noise and soundproofing as we could hear people outside & whenever they walked around or by the stairs. Sometimes, the roadside can be noisy too.. so it did affect our sleep sometimes.
But regardless of that, it's a pretty decent spot to crash when you're in Kyoto! Do give them a try!

PPanjinxielingyunThis is my third visit to Kyoto, and having always stayed near Nishi Honganji Temple, I can confidently say this is the best hotel I've experienced so far in the area. I stayed here for four consecutive nights this time, and my overall experience was excellent. The breakfast spread was extensive, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. It seemed to attract a lot of Western guests, and they offer a convenient shuttle service to Kyoto Station. I felt it offered excellent value for money, and I highly recommend it. I would definitely stay here again on my next visit.

Ccairns8010To get to the hotel, you have to climb a long and steep slope. It was so hot that I was sweating like crazy. The location is not as good as Park Hyatt. Breakfast is set, but you can add anything you want. The Japanese and Western dishes are very exquisite, but I don't like them. Especially the breakfast without self-service fruit is too low. The hot spring is a bit like Six Senses, but not as big as Six Senses. It's good with fewer people. It's unexpected that a hotel of this level doesn't have a sound system. The only good thing is that all the service staff are very friendly. The overall review is really average.
