The Cotton House Hotel was a favorite of ours on our recent trip to Spain. My husband and I debated between The Cotton House or Hotel Artes and ultimately decided on The Cotton House , despite the fact that the rooms are more ‘boutique’ in style, or small or European in size. We were traveling originally with 3 of our daughters so we booked 3 rooms - one on Marriott points. Our daughters had The Panama room - two twin beds overlooking the courtyard. These rooms are not big by US standards & are pricey- upwards of $500^ per night for the basic room. Our girls were cozy. We saw Americans in the lobby griping about the size of the rooms & frankly it was embarrassing- do your homework. This place is special & lovely. But it’s a European boutique hotel. We were luckily upgraded to The Vichy Suite - a bi level suite with two floors and a beautiful terrace that looks out to Gran Via to Sagrada Familia in the distance. The Cotton House is located in a great location; it’s safe by US standards and you can walk to La Rambla , ( which we don’t care for but our girls do ), and Gotic Quarter within ten minutes or hire a car in seconds. Barcelona Sants is about twenty minutes away and we came from there after our train arrived from Malaga. The BCN International Airport is about 25 minutes away. Upon arrival we were met with a great cava in Waterford crystal & water while we waited in the white beautiful lobby adorned with cotton and white leather to get our room keys. Alejandro then showed us the hotel and had our luggage delivered to our rooms & offered to make any reservations we needed; bring us more espresso pods for our in room espresso maker; ice buckets; or whatever we needed. The hotel has an in house atelier for an ‘experience’ of tailoring, because why not have a custom made shirt made from this historic property where cotton was once made? Each room is beautiful and the stair case is beautiful with marble. We had twice daily maid service with turndown service and the toiletries are special. We dined on property for dinner; dessert and the breakfast both at the restaurant and in our suite; highly recommend for dinner- make a reservation & ask for D’Mitre.

We stayed 7 nights in this historic hotel and celebrated a special occasion during our trip. The hotel is truly beautiful & elegantly decorated, however the service levels were inconsistent and sorely disappointing for a hotel of this standard & price. Also, there was unfortunately no special factor that made this hotel memorable. Rooms - we booked a classic double room for 3 people & got upgraded to a deluxe room on a high floor. While I appreciated the upgrade and the room decor was beautiful, the bathroom (while spacious) was in visible need of refurbishment. The paint was badly peeling in certain parts, the closet doorknob came off on our third day, the glass shower door wouldn't close fully so the bathroom got wet during a shower. I'm not expecting a newly renovated room but for the price, the room should at least be in good working condition. Housekeeping - was very inconsistent and there was a severe lack of attention to detail. Some examples: - Upon check in, the room curtain was unhooked from the first hook and messily hanging - it took 3 days for housekeeping to finally notice & fix this. - For the entirety of our stay, all room amenities were provided for 2 (not 3) people despite us having booked & paid for 3 people. - Used wine glasses & water mugs were not washed for several days until we called housekeeping to do so. - On several days, I came back to my luggage having been moved haphazardly (I think they were trying to make up the extra bed) and not put back in its place. - Turn down service was done beautifully on some days and not at all on other days. Rooftop terrace - was a gorgeous place to dine, food was excellent and the service was lovely. We felt very welcome here and it was a real treat dining here! Definitely try the rooftop terrace at least once! Front desk, concierge and bellman were excellent. The concierge was helpful with dining recommendations and guest relations gave us a cake for the special occasion we were celebrating. The bellman was attentive to get us taxis & always greeted us with a smile. Breakfast - is definitely worth a try! The breakfast room is beautiful and the drawing room leading to it is so regal & gorgeous. Generous spread of food & service was warm as well. Amar - dined here & paid over 400 euros but it was a shockingly disappointing experience. The bread, starters, petit fours & decor were wonderful - but the 200 euros of seafood we ordered was not fresh at all and the service was disinterested & careless. We were abit shocked at how bad it was for a Michelin restaurant. Bluesman cocktail bar - did not try. There's a 50 euro per pax minimum spend but perhaps this could be waived for hotel guests who are already paying a lot for a room. Overall, we enjoyed our stay but felt greatly let down by the service standards at this otherwise lovely hotel. Unfortunately, I highly doubt I'd return here again but sincerely hope the hotel improves its service standards to match its elega

It was a very disappointing experience. The hotel service is not even one star and it feels that’s it is not respecting customers at all. Reply was super slow, manager don’t care about the customer even there is a feedback and complain. Most surprising is that there are bugs in the hotel room. First time in Barcelona, and this boutique hotel set the bar high. Modern, upscale property just a couple blocks outside of the ”touristy” zone. The staff is Fantastic! Check-in was a breeze. Love that the property is a smaller one with only 30 rooms. The rooftop bar and pool are very peaceful and serene - a beautiful spot to relax and enjoy a sangria. The on-site restaurant is also incredibly nice and has a diverse menu that can accommodate different types of diets. Also worth noting is that there is a convenient Metro entrance a block from the hotel entrance.

Where do I start we simply loved everything about our stay at the edition. We stayed here April 18th - 21st and the staff specifically the concierge, night bell man on the 18th and front desk were beyond helpful and accommodating. I unfortunately lost the card with their names but those three guys helped my mom and I tremendously - from recommendations, transportations and other tidbits which made our stay very special. Lou Lou on the rooftop was exceptional and actually would remember our morning order which added that extra touch of personalization and guest service. Lisa I believe was her name at the rooftop bar (evening) was also fabulous. The Edition hotel is one of my favorite luxury boutique hotels and the Barcelona one didn’t disappoint - the rooms were gorgeous, clean and well appointed. The rooftop had breath taking views and the bar on the 1st floor was great for a nightcap. On top of the service, great rooms the hotel was in an exceptional location which made exploring super easy! We spent three days here and then moved to the W and it was nowhere near the level of luxury service - quite frankly we regretted having not stayed at the Edition for our entire stay!

Visited here with my partner Checking in was quick and easy Originally we got a room without a bath, but wanted a bath so went to reception and paid for upgrade. Room came with tea/coffee making facilities and complimentary chocolates. Shower and was great Bed and pillows were comfortable Fantastic location ! Firstly, please let me thank you staff behind within the reception team as the staff I came across were a credit to your hotel. I had a booking with you for 7 nights from the 10th to 17th September stayed in room 701. Arrived on the Saturday evening at about 21.15hrs checked in, The gentleman behind reception who checked us in was great first thing he said was Mr & Mrs Barrett many congratulations to you both on celebrating your wedding anniversary, that along with the check in went really well and this made us feel special. Up to room Wow !! factor was really impressed however it was like a sauna No problems we can sort it tried to play around with the settings and struggled getting temp down, plus a few sockets in the room was not working. No letter wishing us congratulations Once we unpacked, we decided to have a look around and get our bearings. popped back to reception and mentioned about the Sockets next to bed not working in room and the temperature. the same gentleman said it's not a problem he can sort out the room temperature but sockets will have to wait till the morning, ok great thank you, can we please book the spa for Sunday around 5pm if its free, yes, he said no problems its book for us. that was it. Saturday night in the room was still very hot but we managed and by the morning it was nice and cool. Sunday afternoon there was someone different on so went to collect the key for the spa and towels off we went really excited as this was our anniversary day. Nothing in the spa was working apart from the pool with bubbles, the Steam room and Sauna was not on, went up to Reception asked the team they said it should be but I assured them nothing was on. we were asked to wait around 15 to 20 minutes which will give things time to warm up but we lost the experience by then. Once finished handed key back to Reception and asked if we could book a table in the restaurant tonight we were told this is closed and the bar is closed as well. But on the web site it says open !! so our plans were going side ways instead. I also mentioned again about sockets and was told we will be on it fiorst thing monday. Went up to room and ran the bath as going to have a jacuzzi, this didn't work reported this to the same person in reception, so we got dressed and went out for dinner. Monday going out said to the team we are out now so feel free to fix the sockets and Jacuzzi and will be back later on during the day. We got back quite late and visited a few sites within your city loads of photos, so by the time we got back didn't check nothing as we were really tired. Tuesday morning completely forgot to check to see if things were working as we had a very early start and a long day. came back late evening time and once again completely tired. Wednesday, I tried the sockets again and still not working so on my way out I mentioned to the team about these and i assumed the Jacuzzi would be the same. They were shocked and thought thes

My husband and I have just returned form a 3 night stay at Room Mate Gerard and had the most amazing stay. We travelled to Barcelona to celebrate my husband's birthday. Prior to our arrival I contacted the hotel to request a bottle of bubbles to be brought to the room on his birthday. The response from the hotel was super quick and friendly. The hotel arranged for a bottle of bubbles as requested, but also provided a complimentary cake on the day of his birthday and also a room upgrade upon arrival. At check in Sunita was super friendly, funny and helpful and the excellent service continued throughout our stay from all the members of staff we encountered. The hotel has a modern contemporary feel and the 'honesty' roof top bar and in the lobby area really sets the tone of the hotel - friendly and relaxed. There are lots of little friendly messages dotted around hotel which really gives a genuinely warm and accommodating feel. The rooms aren't huge, but are well designed so everything fits perfectly. The black out blinds and super comfy bed ensured we had the best nights sleep. We only had breakfast one day as we wanted to explore, but it was lovely and lots of choice so would recommend this. The hotel is in a great location, just walking distance from La Ramblas and the Gothic Quarter etc. I would recommend this hotel for both leisure and business.

On the positive side the location was great; lovely roof terrace with small pool and good views; good size room; comfortable beds; well designed room; good shower and plenty of storage. On the negative side, booked double bed, got two singles pushed together with no “join”; despite being on 6th floor the double glazing was inadequate to deal with street noises below; slowest lifts ever; only Spanish TV channels; with TV and other things staff were not dynamic in dealing with issues, apart from when loud noises came from room next door (11 pm); breakfast room a bit disorganised, ? not enough staff; do not disturb card turned round with any air movement.

From BCN airport, we took the express bus to Plaza Catalonia. Then we walked a hood 15mins distance to the accommodation. It's not a full service hotel, some sort like an inn or hostel. We were mentally prepared to carry our luggage up the stairs but thankfully the building has a small elevator. The check in desk is located on the 4th floor so you have to ring the bell at the entrance for them to unlock the main door downstairs. Check in was fast. The size of the room is just right for 2 people to stay but the balcony is the highlight. All 3 staffs we met were friendly and very accommodating. It's easy to get around as the city bus stops and metro stations are just around the area.

Our family, 2 Adults and 3 Teens, had a great stay at Apartments Casp 74. We stayed in a ”Chic” apartment, which was a two bedroom with 2.5 baths. I felt the rate for this unit was reasonable given its size and location. It was two floors with a double bedroom w/full bath, second bedroom with bunk bed (my son did complain the top bunk was a little difficult to access) and second full bath upstairs. Downstairs there was a living area with a pull out couch, a powder room, kitchen (including a washing machine) and large terrace/patio with a table that was great to sit out on and enjoy coffee in the morning or lunch. There were also two loungers on it. The unit we were in was clean and in good condition. They provided clean towels and made up the beds daily- for an extra fee they would clean the entire apartment but we did not use that service as we only stayed a few days. We also took advantage of their offer to arrange a taxi to meet us at the airport- probably would have been slightly cheaper to find one on our own but as it was our first time in Spain, it was nice not to have to worry about it. We also really liked the location- in a quieter neighborhood but close enough to walk to most of the main tourist areas or catch a nearby metro or bus when needed. Would definitely recommend this for families looking for accommodations with a little more space.

Really enjoyed our stay at Midtown Apartments. We arrived out of hours but had clear instructions sent to us prior to our arrival to gain access to our apartment. The apartment itself was spacious & comfortable & exactly as described. It was a really central but quiet position to explore all Barcelona had to offer. We would definitely stay here again when visiting Barcelona.
