The location is convenient as it is across Roma Termini especially if you have an early train to catch. The room was clean with clean beddings and towels and the staff were nice. There’s a small kitchen with free coffee/tea which is good as we need to start the day with coffee. My kids liked staying there. Since its near termini, there’s a lot of options where to get quick bites, cheap eats and the mercato inside termini. Suprisingly, it’s quiet at night (past 10pm) until 6am. They also offerred luggage storage on our checkout day for free. Plus, its not expensive compared to other airbnb/hotel/hostel if you want to have a good accommodatuon where you can get a goodnight sleep after long walks visiting tourist sites. All in all, we will stay there again if we come back to Rome.

We stayed at Domus Castrense for 3 nights near the end of our European holiday. It was fairly close to Termini station. We walked there dragging our luggage. When we found it, it was just a big closed door and on entry there was an old fashionsed cage lift going up to the reception and then onwards further up to a different floor where our room was. Conveniently enough the breakfast room was on our floor too , the 5th. Breakfast was continental style with pastries, juice, yoghurts, fruit, coffee etc Would have loved a kettle or coffee machine in the room. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was small but fresh, modern and fairly newish.

The best place to stay when you visit Rome, feels like home. Good bed, clean bathroom, kitchen and living room. The owner Evan is very nice, kind, friendly and very hospitable. The room is big, clean with lots of amenities like a five star hotel. Coffee, tea, water, snacks, sleeper, toothpaste, towel and many more. We really had a wonderful stay. If I’ll come back to Rome I’ll choose this place again. It’s well recommended. Location is good too near to the metro, bus station, supermarket and restaurant.

Our first time in Rome- had a wonderful trip exploring the beautiful city and eating too much. Warm welcome from the host who was there when we arrived. Each day our room was freshened up which was great and snacks replenished. Had one issue which was resolved as soon as mentioned (toilet flush stayed on which was noisy throughout the night). Did not happen again. Noise from the street was as expected with Trastevere being a busy sociable area. Quietened down at a reasonable time at the weekend. Overall a lovely long weekend and would love to revisit in the future

This was a stay to celebrate my partner's birthday, we went expecting the pics you can all see on the site however what we found was the room in the picture looking similar but a little worn! We actually felt catfished (maybe kittenfished?) by our hotel room! It was a lovely room however scuffs on the walls could have been fixed easily, holes in the bedding and a simple thing such as replacing a broken curtain tieback meant an eye to detail was being missed here. The shower was sometimes hot and usually cold in the morning, the shower drain didn't like to drain water away and the toilet would continue to flush unless you mastered the button. Mould in the bathroom was another shame and the mirror was getting more wonky each day. The hairdryer in the bathroom is not sufficient to style your hair and pushes cold air at a rate to which my partner blowing on my hair would have been more effective. The hotel did provide me with a proper hairdryer but because I need to blow dry my haircut daily so I don't look like a wild lion I felt while travelling on hand luggage and seeing it in the amenities I could leave mine at home. I wouldn't like another lady to make that same mistake! The staff were lovely and accommodating, very friendly and wanted to be of assistance as much as possible. The breakfast was pleasant and well prepared which we enjoyed, we liked the multi language Sky TV in the room so we could enjoy some chill time. Our only real negative was noise through the wall to the room we had, I am not sure if it was a hotel guest or someone in an apartment next door so bring ear plugs for any events like this, the traffic noise dies down very low at night and so not bad at all! The location is very good and we managed to walk to most of the attractions! We only took a taxi once and that was due to heels and dinner far from where we were staying! I think I would stay here again but hopefully after it has received some TLC! The ideas are all there to make it exceptional but for me this wasn't a luxury room, though I am sure it was a little time ago!

I got a great rate on this room, so that's the only reason I moved it from a 3 to a 4. I think the hotel does not earn the description ”Luxury Rooms” as is in its title, but it's a good value. Positives: +: The location is rather convenient to the metro, taxi stands, and walking to sightseeing. It is a few blocks to the metro, which can be miserable in summer heat. +: The room's air conditioner is quite strong! +: The concierge was helpful in booking a tour and getting stamps for a postcard. +: The king sized bed was actually one single bed, not multiple beds like many hotels in Europe. Negatives: -: There's only one elevator, which means lots of waiting. And the elevator has kind of a musty smell and dilapidated interior. -: The bathroom is very small. The shower is supposed to close fully, but the doors didn't quite seal at the corner. And there is very limited counter space. -: There aren't really drawers to unpack your belongings into. If you're quite tall, you can use a shelf near the entry door. And if you use the window seat as storage, I put my luggage underneath the window seat and found that area had not been dusted. -: There was construction going on in the hallway outside our room and in the floor above, which was disruptive to relaxing. -: This was the only hotel we stayed at in Italy that did not have breakfast available on site. We could purchase a low cost breakfast at the cafe across the street, but it was always very busy at the cafe.

This hotel was one of unforgettable hotel in my recently trips. I have to say it is located closed by Colosseum and is in a lovely community with gate which is safe. Across of street, there is a nice café for breakfast. Staff are nice. Guest house provides free coffee, yogurt, and hot water. As following, it was my experience.. 1) The hotel building is under maintenance (I don't know how long for the project), workers starts working around 8am. 2) ***There was no HOT SHOWER (I mean it ACTUALLY HOT) in our room ; basically, it was closed to body temperature (No steam during shower). For me, a girl, it was too cold to take shower. (Only 55 F degree at night ) We only took shower within 5 mins. 3) Another problem was, receptionist only at site worked from 8am - 2pm. Therefore, when we found out no hot shower, we had to wait until next day and left a note on the desk before we left hotel to start our schedule. (BTW, we also made an intl phone call to make sure hot shower working normally) 4) Wifi signal was too weak to connect it in our room, even router is installed outside of our room. Luckily, I bought e-sim unlimited data plan. Therefore, poor wifi connection wasn't a really bit deal for us. I cannot speak other facilities in other's room or other travelers' experiences. All I mentioned are based on my experience at this time.

Let’s start at the beginning . We arrived to be greeted by the most helpful members of Staff . Friendly and lucky for us good English . We were shown to our room (family room ) through the church into the left hand wing . It was clean , basic but perfectly comfortable. Beautiful shutters at the window . The view was pretty shocking they could do with some **** killer & a few pots . But hey we were hardly in the room . The bathroom was clean - the shower was functional but old . Hot water always available- soap & sachets of shower gel supplied . Lovely big bath sheets , plus larger size hand towels . 4 of each . Great position for metro just round the corner and very easy to navigate . Beautiful park literally next door . Great shop/stalls for refreshments just down from the hotel . Water fountain outside the hotel so you can refill bottles everyday with sparkling or still water . A wonderful cafe / bistro opposite called caffe Italia best pastries & serve a mean Hugo spritz it’s open 24 hours too ! The church within the hotel is breath taking and there is a lovely chap that sits at the gates all day looking after it he has the kindest face & always said good morning- good night . We lit candles inside and sat with our thoughts - it truly is a serene place . Then we discovered the roof top well WOW we took our own drinks and plastic cups and sat of an evening watching the sun go down . I don’t think you will find a better view of Rome for the price this is . Breakfast was simple but plentiful - pastries , yogurt , fruit , cake , bread , ham & cheese . English breakfast tea ! Was a good one (twinnings ) coffee strong and good . Water juice available, biscuits . No there isn’t a full English but a true Roman breakfast ! When in Rome right ? The beds could do with new mattresses but weren’t dreadful at all . Don’t go in with super high expectations - why would you being in the lower price band of Rome ? (I’m saying this after having read reviews before we arrived ) The room was cleaned & beds made everyday we were there . Our room had a little fridge . The safety deposit box is free - however it’s not attached to anything - so could be lifted out 🤣🤦🏻‍♀️ so we used our lockable suit cases . I have to say I felt 100% safe in this part of Rome and wasn’t worried about theft or mugging or pick pocketing (having read again horror stories online ) There is a super cool medieval themed restaurant round the corner called Avalon if you’re travelling with children you must visit . We ordered a mixed grill that came on a sword !! Very cool and fun . Overall I cannot fault our stay or the staff or the surroundings . If we ever return to Rome I wouldn’t hesitate to rebook !
