Poseidon Resort

La decadecia total. Hemos visto el declive de este hotel año tras año. Llevamos 10 años viniendo y, aunque nunca ha sido la panacea, el deterioro ya resulta inaceptable. No por las instalaciones, sino por el mal servicio y la pésima atención. Salvando las camareras de comedor (no todas) y los camareros del bar (fantásticos todos), la atención de recepción y maitres es deplorable. La animación, pieza clave para la elección de muchísimas familias, es inexistente y dirigida en exclusiva a los ancianos, que resultan ya más del 90% de los huéspedes. Mención especial a “Inma”, recepcionista con una mala educación que roza lo vergonzoso. En fin, lo barato sale caro y debemos despedirnos para siempre de este hotel, que tenía posibilidades de posicionarse como un gran resort pero se ha quedado en hostal de tercera.

Holiday in Benidorm every year, this was Not our first choice hotel but left it quite late to book. Reasonably priced. Lovely clean hotel, lovely pools and brilliant location not too far out from anything. Great bar opposite called timeless and a brilliant cafe outside called the castle on the corner serving amazing breakfasts. Entertainers round the pool during the day lots of fun. Only thing that lets the hotel down is the food, Hotel food standard is very poor. Other than that it is a lovely hotel and reception were very helpful with late check out etc.

Travelled on my own and found the holtel really nice. Good clean room, fab bathroom with lovely walk in shower. Hair and Shower Gel good. AC worked really well. TV channels BBC1 & 2. Pool area I could always get a sunbed. Good location easy to find everything. Food good and drinks well priced. Majority of guests were Spanish and it great watching them dance in the evening. Overall good place to stay and hope to visit again.

My recent stay at the Poseidon Resort was a mixed experience, with both positives and areas for improvement. Here's a detailed breakdown of my experience: Dining Experience: I found it challenging to enjoy warm food during my stay, especially when it was served on cold plates. However, I must note that I prefer my meals steaming hot, so this might not be an issue for everyone. The food quality was average, which is probably standard for a three-star hotel. A more extensive selection would be a welcome improvement, but what was available was adequately tempered and edible—if only it were warmer. The key is to be at the front of the line when food is served fresh. Unfortunately, the food selection didn’t offer much of a Spanish flair. I was hoping for more seafood, jamón, chorizo, tortilla, and tapas, but these were not abundant. Desserts were repetitive, and although we did have profiteroles once, the filling was unexpectedly warm, which was a disappointment. Breakfast was another letdown. The selection was quite boring, and it was hard to get the kids excited about it. Fresh bread rolls in the morning could have made a huge difference and significantly improved the breakfast experience. Accommodation: The room was comfortable, but we had to switch rooms on the first day. The rooms in the Poseidon Palace are much smaller compared to those in the other building. With two very active boys, we could barely move in the initial room. It took a day to relocate, and our holiday only really began after 3 PM on the second day. I appreciate the hotel accommodating our request, but it was frustrating since I had specifically requested the other building when making the reservation well in advance. Facilities and Amenities: The hotel itself is spacious with great areas to relax. This was the first hotel in Benidorm where I didn’t feel claustrophobic, and it didn’t put pressure on us to go to the beach every day. The pool area was excellent, with both pools having a great temperature. However, finding a spot by the pool was challenging as everything was reserved by dawn. I eventually joined in and started waking up early to secure a spot, which was disappointing as I ended up waking earlier than I do for work. Staff and Service: Most of the staff were okay, but there was a noticeable lack of that extra something that makes a hotel stay special. I believe that when people choose a hotel for their holiday, they expect staff to be welcoming, full of smiles, and eager to make their stay memorable. Unfortunately, I didn’t see much of this, and I missed seeing a duty manager engaging with guests and ensuring everyone was happy. However, the room cleaners were exceptional, always smiling and attentive, and truly represented the best of Poseidon Resort. The animation staff were also a highlight, especially Maguie, who was fantastic with the kids and brought high energy to the adult activities as well. Superb location with 5 minute walk to beach and Old Town. Spanish oriented with great facilities. Friendly staff and highly recommend the all inclusive food package. The only downside is lack of sun loungers in pool area ( really could do with an extra 20 new ones ) and the usual chaos of towel hogging these chairs in the morning.

Lovely hotel . Friendly and helpful staff and great location. Five minutes from beach and has two lovely pools of its own . Lovely spacious and clean rooms with nice balcony and our maid was absolutely fantastic. Also poolside bar was good and cheap . Only downsides were the breakfast wasn't very nice so even though it was free we were paying to eat out . Also same old story of every sunbed has a towel on it at 8am but there is no one by the pool till 10 . This practice should not be allowed

This hotel is predominantly Spanish people They DO Not like the English including the staff !! Extremely rude Hotel itself is ok everything you need room we had 111 very small ... Near to old town Food excellent although restaurant opens too late dinner 8pm If your easily offended at constant evil looks and stares then choose somewhere else ! Would we stay here again absolutely not !!! Benidorm itself didn't disappoint

Just a 4 day trip, to celebrate a birthday, and perfect timing. Arrival day , 14th May, was the first of a 2 day heat wave. Really hot for May, and people were using the pools. We were allocated a room in Hotel Poseidon, and were alarmed at the temperature in the room, 27 degrees. Pool side sees about 2 hours less sun each day, and we had asked for a room this side, but no. Then we discovered that the air conditioning was not working. We explained the problem to reception, who told us that the air conditioning is not switched on until the summer months. We were provided with a big fan, which was incredibly noisy, but kept the room temperature down until we went to bed. On the third and fourth days the temperature dropped a bit. Nice to sunbathe , but not hot enough for outdoor pools. No problem, Hotel Poseidon Palace has one of the best indoor pools. Unfortunately, probably because of the recent weather, the water was freezing cold, much colder than the outdoor pool. Most people changed their minds once they had put a foot in the water. This was my 31st say at the hotel, and never before has the indoor pool been totally unheated. Food and restaurant. The Restaurant Manager, is a charming man, always a nice greeting and will help when he can. These days the food is probably average, at best. In the past, I have stayed a month at a time, and had no trouble eating each meal. Unfortunately, since the pandemic, the food is not as good and we are occasionally forced to eat out. A small thing at breakfast time, but still very irritating (and unnecessary ??). Somebody decides that, about every 2 or 3 days, there are to be no fried eggs. No notice given. Is this really necessary?? Lounge Bar and Entertainment. A really good size, and although the entertainment is not really for us, it is very well attended. Bar prices are very reasonable. Another small moan, is the fruit machine. Well used by the guests, but it always seems to be the same Spanish lady that wins. A Spanish couple suggested to us, that the lady isn't even a guest at the hotel. My partner swears that she has seen the lady during our last 5 or 6 stays. She might be right. The hotel complex is superbly positioned in the centro area. Close to beach and the old town. Bus stops are about 2 minutes walk. A perfect base to go exploring. During summer months, pool areas are really good. The Poseidon pool, area includes an updated children's area. The Poseidon Palace has a wonderful lagoon style pool. Despite the disappointments, I still think the hotel is very fairly priced, and can be incredibly good value.

What a lovely place to stay. Staff are very welcoming and the hotel is spacious and very clean. I stayed in the low rise building with a lovely pool view, modern room and comfy bed. The swimming pool was gorgeous and I swam as well! Nice atmosphere with a majority of customers being Spanish which is a welcome change in Benidorm! Lots of entertainment too. We were room only and restaurant street is literally a minutes walk from Poseidon. I’d definitely stay here again.
