My wife and I haven't stayed in a hostel before so we wasn't really sure what to expect. But we both enjoyed the experience of staying in the hostel.We'd booked a double room with a bathroom.Once you have checked in your handed your bedding which is for you to make up your own bed. This didn't bother us. It made us laugh as the previous night we'd stayed at the Venetian in Vegas. The room was small but clean and did us fine for 1 night. There is a good sized lounge area & dinning room & kitchen. We can't compare to other hostels but we can't have any complaints with our stay.

This lodging was great and is about the only affordable place in Bishop! The hostel includes private rooms or shared dorms. I stayed in a shared, mixed dorm and it was perfect. The rooms are large and there is plenty of room along with locker space and good heating. The rooms and linens are clean and the staff couldn't be friendlier or more helpful. The dorms are in a separate building so it is quieter than an regular hostel where most things are in the same building! Shared space includes a lovely yard, living room, dining room and very clean kitchen. Tea and coffee are complimentary and there is a fleet of free bikes available for daily use. I stayed two nights and would't hesitate to stay again if in the area.

I stayed one night in a “private “ room in this hostel. It looks nicely set up, but my room wasn’t cleaned after the last occupant, the floor was dirty and there was rubbish on the table. The shared toilet had pooh sprayed all over. The shower floor mat was very dirty. When I complained, the guy said that he couldn’t manage and clean everything because he was the only staff member there. I left the next day and have found since that I picked up bed bugs from there. I was hiking before so didn’t stay anywhere else and now I’m covered in bites...

We stayed in Hostel California for one night and it was OK for our needs. The place is very centred around back-packers, rather than holiday makers like we were. There are plenty of amenities for people to make their own meals, however we ate at a local restaurant. We stayed in a private room with a shower and bathroom which was OK. We knew it was cheap and done on a budget so this is what we expected. Parking is free and easy which is perfect for walking into Bishop. I think we did feel a little out of place not being back packers in our late teens/early twenties, however the people working their were very friendly and it was ideal for one night.

I stayed in the dormitory. Clean bedding was provided and there was access to shared lounge, dining room and kitchen. This was very good value. The staff were very very friendly and even shared their evening meal when they cooked more than they needed. Location is very convenient for downtown Bishop.

A relaxing, sociable and comfortable place with a welcoming caring host and friendly staff. Beds were clean and cozy and garden area great for peace and quiet. Lovely historical house which is loved and cared for. Great for hikers and climbers to unwind or plan next adventure. Centre of small town which is packed with all facilities plus laundrey nearby. Would stay here again.

à première vue, l'accueil nous a semblé très très décontracté, surtout quand on a vu que notre chambre (au rez de chaussée) était un dortoir pour 6 personnes. C'est bien un dortoir, mais pour nous deux seulement En fait, cet hôtel ou plutôt auberge restera un très bon souvenir de notre trip aux USA. Profitez d'aller faire un tour en ville. ici c'est l'Amérique profonde, mais c'est ça qu'on aime. ça change de Las Vegas... on a aime le côté très décontracté, presque auberge de jeunesse. hôtel qui semble prisé des randonneurs et des amateurs d'escalade

Ma che sorpresa essere accolti ad un italiano a Bishop! Angelo è un personaggio, una sagoma! Ci ha accolto col calore dei meridionali con la simpatia di un vecchio amico e ci ha fatto sentire davvero a casa nostra! Abbiamo lasciato l'ostello (con le sue caratteristiche) con un ricordo che a San Francisco ha raccolto numerosi complimenti. Guardate le nostre magliette!!!

Adorable maisonnette pour Climbers. nous avions réservé une chambre pour 3 : elle était très petite, sous les toits et sans grand confort, la clim faisait beaucoup de bruit, heureusement elle semble d'éteindre toute seule la nuit. L'accueil était sympathique et la cuisine commune très pratique. Beaucoup d'échanges possibles avec les "clients". Ambiance auberge de jeunesse plus que hôtel. Cette étape nous a amusés. Mais cela dépend de ce que l'on cherche...
