Just got back from a golf and spa weekend as a group of 6. Reception service really good. Room was lovely. Bed was a bit hard for me but partner liked it (personal preference). The men had golf included and us women had the spa included. As far as I know, the lads enjoyed the golf course- preferred the PGA course over the Lake course. They did say it is a long walk especially if you’re older and less able- I would recommend buggies! The spa was lovely, provided with robes, slippers and a towel. We had a 50 min treatment included. I had the facial and back massage which was really relaxing! Bar service was brilliant. Drinks not too pricey unless you want cocktails. On to our 3 course evening meal we had included. You have a set menu if your 3 course meal is included in your package. Fair few things to choose from. The food was lovely- we had the steak which was really good and all cooked to our liking. Cannot fault the food at all, however, the service- although really friendly, it was extremely slow. Our table was at 8.30 and we didn’t leave the restaurant till gone 11.30, this wasn’t down to sitting talking- this was from waiting between each course. We were all so stuffed and as you can imagine wasn’t too pleased eating such a huge meal so late. We had breakfast in the morning which was buffet. The breakfast was spot on, help yourself to full cooked breakfast or continental (yogurts, cereals, pastries)- all yummy. The man who came round offering tea or coffee was really efficient and friendly. You can also help yourself to a selection of juices. Our second day although we weren’t allowed to go in the spa which we initially thought we had included, we could use the leisure facilities (wet facilities) including the pool, sauna, jacuzzi and steam room. We were able to shower after as you get given a towel. Overall we all really enjoyed our weekend!

Stayed 2 nights. When we arrived there was no remote in the room, went down to reception and got a remote 10 minutes later. First morning breakfast was short staff, he did explain this. Cooked breakfast you have to order not help yourself which is disappointing. Second day lady said we couldn't have 7.30 breakfast as there was a big group booking and said is 7.15 ok. We said yes as it needed to be early as l was running the Cardiff half. Arrived at 7.15 to the restaurant to be told we didn't have a booking. Was told in not a very good manner to go to reception as she couldn't do anything.Went to reception where the lady who booked our breakfast for 7.:15 was and another member of staff was. She said she booked it in for 7.15 and then total ignored us and at no point said sorry. They left us standing there for 5 minutes after we explained the situation doing other paperwork. I had to then say what's happening then. At no point did anyone say sorry the only option they gave was a refund on the breakfast. I said l needed to have a breakfast as l was running the Cardiff half he took us back to the restaurant. The lady said we could take some food back to our room and l told her we was having a cooked breakfast back our room and she agreed but you could tell she didn't want to. At no point was this offered which would of made the situation better. Walking back to the room we saw 2 other couple's who had the same problem. After breakfast l did speak to the manager who came in at 7.30. Again no sorry just l will refund your breakfast and here is a card to complain. We e-mailed it took more the 15 days to reply which is the time frame they say. It took over 3 weeks. E-mail was a waste of time as the staff lied and said they told us to come down at 7.00 because of the big booking and we arrived at 7.15 when it was fully booked.Awful customer services at this hotel will not be returning again.
