Nice little room with excellent location, perfect for traveling people. Loved the breakfast the hotel had. With a great view from my room

I had a worst stay here. I arrived the hotel near 10:30pm, I saw there was a man using a piece of paper to block the door of entrance from locking before he left the premise. He was holding many beer bottles as well. We looked at him but he stared us back, since both of us are girls so we dared not to have eye contact with him anymore cuz we didnt want to get ourselves in trouble. When I arrived the room, the appearance of it is totally different from the website I booked it. They have two hotels around here and they used the photos of the nicer hotel to attract you to book the cheaper hotel!! IT IS A SCAM! Don’t believe the photos that the website provided you. If I have seen the actual photos of the room, I believe I wont book this hotel from the very first day. There were small cockroaches in my room too.. the cleanliness of the room is terrible too.. you can feel the oil from the handle of the fridge, and I cant help myself doubting if they had cleaned the room before letting residents in. Worst of all, I had to fear the man I saw earlier will come to trespass my room, since the lock seemed to be not stable as well.. I wanted to leave but after going through all these it was already midnight.. no chance to change to other hotels.. so I stayed up all night.. and the next day, i told the lady from reception I had to do early check out and I told her what happened, she denied any of it without checking the CCTV. Well fine, I wont come back anyway! For those who will come to Bordeaux, avoid this hotel!!

Spent a few days recently in Hotel Gambetta , Found it to be a basic hotel but also cosy and friendly. Nice breakfast and pleasant friendly helpful staff . It's very well located and central , very easy to navigate the old town on foot , Tram stop just around the corner if needed , we walked everywhere and loved Bordeaux , can't wait to go back again . Only grip was our room was front of hotel , on a busy street which was noisy at night and was woken from sleep a few times. Having said that I would stay there again and can't wait to book it again soon.

Hotel muy justo, apenas tiene servicio pero está bien situado y es muy económico. HABITACIÓN: Pequeña, con una cama doble y una litera encima. Baño mini encastrado con el lavabo fuera, en la habitación. Perdía agua y se empapaba el suelo de la habitación. Poco servicio para dejar las maletas, neceser y ropa. Éramos cuatro personas (2 adultos y 2 niños) y estábamos muy justos. DESAYUNO: No usamos el desayuno del hotel. La sala de desayunos es pequeña y el desayuno pobre. Justo al lado hay una buena panadería donde se puede comprar café y bollos varios, muy ricos. UBICACIÓN: Al otro lado del Garona, a 15 minutos andando del centro y cerca de la parada del tranvía. Sitio tranquilo con poco ruido. STAFF: Amable.

It was spotless clean and all staff was very helpful and efficient and spoke good English. In a very convenient location, 2 minutes away for the tram stop and 35 mins away from the airport. Breakfast was adequate but can be boring after the second time so maybe a bit of variety within the same layout and budget would be good to consider. The room price was vfm given the prices in Bordeaux and the mattress, pillows and duvet of high standards and new. The only downside was the very small room, contrary to the official Hôtel website that shows a much more spacious and pleasant room. What we all had, 6 rooms in total even if had booked the triple and the double rooms as sold, we all got tiny bedrooms that you could hardly pass through if you are a bigger than average person. When I asked the receptionist about it he very abruptly said I can refund you right now and go find another hotel if you like.I actually felt offended and undermined as an Accor client which I book a lot around the world and trust. I even felt sorry the hotel staff that have to put up with these complaints from most guests as otherwise they were all polite. I would appreciate if the hotel photos were updated to realistic photos. We stayed for four nights, 6 rooms so that was not addressed properly rather than suppressed and ignored. We expect better than this and an official reply please. I also found it very disturbing to not be able to book under another person’s name on the official Hôtel website so I had to keep all 6 rooms under my name and credit card and spend more than half an hour upon check in to sort out names and payments for each. I could have easier booked vie other third party providers but they were sold out for our given dates as the Accor site still had rooms available. Mille merci

Pros: friendly and helpful concierge, great location. Cons: no elevator, no air conditioning, not clean. Water in the shower and sink did not drain so water backed up during my shower (which I limited to 5 mins) and left unidentifiable black “gunk” on the floor of the shower while I showered. Overall: if you’re not picky and just need a place to stay in a central location, this is fine. But do not expect a clean, comfortable stay.

The Regina is only a two star hotel. If you understand that and know that old hotels like this one have very small elevators and often bathrooms, then you will be able to appreciate this one. It is super convenient to the train, tram and taxis. It is very well maintained. Very cleanly. The staff could not be nicer. The price is right! The breakfast was excellent value for money in a pleasant room.
