Hotel Kunming dengan Sarapan

We booked this as a quick stopover before heading back home, mainly for its supposed proximity to Kunming Railway Station. Turns out it’s about 900m away — not exactly next door — and the stretch in between is lined with pretty sketchy shops. Having to haul luggage through that area in the middle of the night was honestly a little unsettling. Worth knowing before you book. Room itself was clean and cosy. Nothing fancy, but exactly what you’d expect from a budget business hotel — practical and comfortable enough for a short stay. Breakfast was a bit of a letdown though. We came down around 9:30am — a full 30 minutes before the stated end time — and the spread was already running on empty. For a hotel breakfast that’s supposed to run until 10am, the replenishment really should be better managed. Decent for what it is, but go in with the right expectations.

We stayed at Kunming PAPMAN Hotel Wanda for our first night in Kunming, and honestly, it was by far the best hotel of our entire stay. We only stayed for one night and didn’t have a chance to explore the surrounding area, but the hotel itself was exceptional. The hotel occupies two floors within a larger building, so there isn’t direct access to the hotel lobby from the ground floor. However, the hotel contacted us in advance with clear instructions on where to meet them at the car park. The staff came down to meet us, helped with all our luggage and brought us up to the lobby. This could have been an inconvenience, but the level of service completely made up for it. The staff were incredibly attentive, warm and genuinely went above and beyond from the moment we arrived. The hotel itself is beautifully designed. Every corner was thoughtfully decorated and incredibly photogenic, and the overall aesthetic was stylish without compromising on comfort. Even our room was beautifully designed, comfortable and very well equipped, with lots of thoughtful amenities included. The views from the hotel were also lovely. Unfortunately, it was raining during our stay, so we didn’t get to properly enjoy or photograph the rooftop pool, which was a little disappointing — but it gives us another reason to come back! One of our favourite additions was the photoshoot. The hotel was incredibly accommodating and allowed us to arrange a much earlier photoshoot slot because we were short on time. The experience was so good that we ended up purchasing additional photos beyond the three included with our room. It was such a fun and memorable experience. Our room rate also included afternoon tea, although we arrived at night and unfortunately didn’t have the opportunity to try it. However, supper was included and was honestly one of the highlights. It was a combination of semi-buffet and made-to-order dishes, with a surprisingly good variety. Everything we tried was delicious, and there was more than enough food. It was such a nice and unexpected inclusion, especially after travelling all day. We were also celebrating our child’s birthday during our stay, and the hotel had thoughtfully prepared a birthday cake and a little present for him in advance. It was such a sweet and thoughtful touch, and really made us feel welcomed and looked after❤️ Overall, we were genuinely impressed by this hotel. From the beautiful design and comfortable rooms to the incredible service, thoughtful inclusions, photoshoot and birthday surprise, everything felt very well thought out. The service in particular really stood out — the staff were attentive, friendly and incredibly helpful throughout our short stay. We only stayed one night and didn’t leave the hotel during our stay, so unfortunately we can’t comment much on the surrounding area or its convenience for exploring Kunming. But based purely on our experience at the hotel, we would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it.

I rarely write any reviews, but my stay at the Doubletree was extremely worth documenting. Coming out of a 24 hour long trip, this hotel and its staff Yedda, Daisy, Jack and Mr. Wang immediately made me feel home! First of all, arranging airport pick up was extremely smooth. Mr. Wang waited for me patiently at a clearly instructed parking place, so there was no confusion. Next, as soon as I arrive at the hotel, there were staff members helping me with the suitcase and guiding me to check in. Then Yeda and Daisy showed their extreme hospitality by providing an amazing room on a higher floor with a view, helped me charging my phone, providing me with freshly baked welcoming snacks. And Jack walked me through on connecting my phone and laptop to the hotel WIFI. Due to my work schedule, they’ve accommodated me with late checkout. Room is huge and clean with full amenities.. even a scale! And yes! I ate both of the rice noodle dishes!! Thank you for going above and beyond taking care of me on this short trip.. I’ll be back and will looking forward to seeing Mr. Wang, Yedda, Daisy, and Jack again soon!

The hotel reception staff was friendly. Breakfast was moderate. As I don't have a local number hence it was difficult to get the driver to pick me up at the airport. Thus, the staff suggested to didi instead and reimbursed me later. If you are looking for a short stay for an early or late flight, I think it is still a good choice.

I was transiting in Kunming for one night, therefore I chose JL because of its location. I was surprised by the service of the staff, they provided me a quite clear instruction to locate the hotel. And after checked in, staff also gave me a paper with fruits and Yunnan flower cakes.

Room was large, comfortable and well maintained, though this is an older hotel. One issue was the strong cigarette smell that remained through my stay. Location is not near city center, but a Walmart & many eateries are across the street. I know this is a busy holiday week, but staff should be more welcoming.

Bilik dobi mempunyai tiga set mesin basuh dan pengering untuk kegunaan percuma, malangnya pelanggan hos yang lain sering mempunyai masa yang cukup dan tidak kembali untuk mengambil pakaian mereka! Menduduki tempat duduk dan tidak menerima pakaian! Kemudahan pagi banyak ***a untuk dipilih, hampir setanding dengan hotel lima bintang. Lokasi adalah satu-satunya kelemahan, stesen kereta api bawah tanah berjalan kaki kembali ke hotel mengambil masa lebih dari sepuluh minit, jika kebanyakannya menggunakan Didi Chuxing tidak mengapa.

Note on Hotel Name: This property appears under multiple names across platforms—Hyatt, Imperial Palace, Ritz—though officially branded Grand Mercure. Reception Chaos and The Window Saga Check-in was rushed and incomplete—no luggage assistance, no WeChat information, no translation tools. The real problems began when I reported my window wouldn't close. With one receptionist managing everything, guests competed for attention in survival-of-the-rudest fashion. She'd abandon helping me whenever someone else interrupted, forcing me to wait while she handled whoever was most insistent. Hours of frustration followed. The maintenance worker actually said it ”wasn't really a problem” since ”most windows are like that in the hotel”—an alarming admission. After being dismissed and deprioritized repeatedly, I finally got another room. This one had a working window but noisy neighbors and poor soundproofing that broadcast every car horn. They sent an apology fruit platter—genuinely the best I've received in China, beautifully arranged. But fruit platters require far less investment than proper staff training, adequate staffing, or basic maintenance. The Bright Spots: Room and Breakfast The stylish room with warm atmosphere and spacious layout was genuinely nice, though the window view wasn't appealing. The bed was acceptable. The breakfast team was easily the best part of this hotel—truly professional unlike virtually everyone else. Day one featured fantastic food, skilled preparation, and competent service that stood in stark contrast to other departments. Even when choices declined on days two and three (less refilling, fewer Western options), the cooking team remained the most professional staff I encountered. They also shut down before 1:30 PM despite posted hours. Housekeeping Failures During housekeeping, I left my robe and towels out to be changed—they were clearly used and wet, obviously needing replacement. They didn't change them—they folded them and left them. I had to ask them to replace items like shower gel, basically had to tell them everything. They also moved my pile of dirty clothes for some reason and mixed it with clean clothes, putting everything on a chair. Maybe these staff should respect personal space and belongings? One housekeeping staff member in the morning delivered mineral water but was impatient and unfriendly. Infrastructure Issues This aging property needs renovation. The hotel is pretty old—windows not closing, minor things not working or getting detached from walls. Water temperature in the shower fluctuated wildly, giving you burning water on your face when you don't expect it. Shower pressure from the handle was pretty good, but not sure what the top running shower is for—low pressure, useless. Elevators were very slow. I ordered coffee—it was delivered to reception but they didn't call or message me and didn't use the robot to deliver to my room. I went downstairs at some point and took it. No explanation, no apology. Final Verdict Two genuine strengths: stylish rooms and a professional breakfast team that understood hospitality. This only highlighted how dysfunctional everything else was. The chaotic reception, incompetent housekeeping, dangerous infrastructure, and absent service standards make this hard to recommend—despite nice rooms and excellent breakfast staff. Would I return? No. Would I recommend? Only if everywhere else was fully booked.

I am very happy and delighted to introduce this hostel. The young owner rents a mansion building in the heart of Kunming and operates it as an accommodation. First of all, he is incredibly friendly, and I got the impression that he is doing his best to run the hostel. The location is a given. It is in the best central area of Kunming, just a five-minute walk from Kunming Old Street. Although the interior is generally small, every corner is utilized effectively to create a comfortable layout for guests. The restrooms and bathrooms are not spacious, but they are kept clean to ensure guests are not inconvenienced, and amenities such as shampoo and toothpaste are fully provided. Furthermore, the view of the Kunming cityscape from the 18th-floor window is a gift comparable to that of a luxury hotel. I have never given a perfect 10 to any accommodation before, but I would give this hostel a perfect 10 for its value for money. If you are a backpacker visiting Kunming, you must go to Oli Hostel!

Amenities, ive rated 3/5 to remain neutral as all we needed was a place to stay to accommodate our family of 5. Now, where do I begin, first of? if you sre arriving at this place via didi or taxi straight from the airport, do yourself a favour and get dropped off outside and walk to the entrance of the ”hotel”. If you get dropped off inside the underground parking lot, Goodluck to your driver finding the spot to drop you off that connects to the hotels' elevator (its a maze and once u get there, it looks sketchy but its alright). Now, for the location: the location is superb! You're legit right beside a large mall with Tonssssss of restaurants to eat at even late at night! It is simply very convenient. And if you dont mind walking, there's another mall down south thats about 15mins walk. Lots of things to do. The lobby, the receptionist were kind and warm. They provided water whenever asked and didn't hesitate to help where they could. The free tea upfront, although we didn't fully utilize, was a nice touch. Now for the room: we selected the largest room they had which had 3 bedrooms. The price? It was insanely good. Almost unheard of. It was between 50-70 Canadian during the time of booking. I couldn't believe it. But not all hotels are perfect, and i have to say some of the things i experienced could definitely be improved. The restroom area had some scent to it that I couldn't point out as to what the smell is. I had to leave the exhaust fan on to ensure a neutral atmosphere. It worked fyi. The living room: is huge but tell me how there's only a 2-3 people sofa available and one small chair and a table. Its a wasted space. It ought to offer a large lounging furniture at this kind of room. It felt bare. The windows: simply put, although they installed windows capable of sound deadening, the weather stripping and the latch simply doesnt bond the gaps efficiently. Meaning, coldness of the night still finds its way. Luckily, the hvac system works and the curtains are relatively thick and also automatic (adjust at will). The beds are ultra clean and the floors were relatively spotless. But there's honestly one thing that is have to think about if I ever decide to rebook. I personally don't smoke, and i requested for a deodorizing treatment for our room prior to coming. The room itself? It didn't smell like cigarettes which was awesome, but here's something I don't see bring possible to address: at night time, while I lay down and sleep, there is a smell of people smoking cigarettes whose odour is somehow able to travel through the air ducts. Like each and every night, it was the same ordeal. My son didn't say anything, my parents inlaw didn't say anything, but my wife and I, yeah we smelled it. It isnt like as if you're beside someone smoking cigarettes, but its more like a scent that goes along with the air in the room that suggest someone had smoked, just unsure when. Other than that, sure, the beds, pillows and comforters were all clean and comfy. Honestly, my family was OK with the room. The convenience and price is really really hard to beat. Like it is extremely beyond belief affordable. Perhaps id reconsider staying here again if we were in kunming. We'll see.
