"Our stay at the Hub was delightful! We arrived Christmas morning and were offered a very early check in and breakfast which was extremely appreciated. The place is in a great location, we were able to walk everywhere and it was very clean. Small space but it was all we needed for a few nights. Would happily stay again. Thank you!!"

"The room was just as described and shown in the photos. The reception staff were very friendly. On arrival, I found a few hairs in the bed and bathroom, and the safe, as well as the phone connection to the smart TV, didn’t work. Also, only some of the power outlets were working. I’m sure the staff would have fixed everything quickly if I’d had time to ask. The bed was very comfortable, and the room was spacious! I felt like a princess!"

"This was a great spot for a weekend. The employees were helpful and professional, they also held on to our bags after we checked out. The room was extremely spacious and clean. Beds/pillows were comfortable, TV was new, and plenty of clean towels. The bathroom was also very nice. New appliances, hot/cold water, clean floors and really nice shampoo, conditioner, and body lotion. The only downside is that it gets stuffy and hot which is not the best for someone with bad allergies. The fan helped too, maybe like a humidifier would do the trick. Anyway, amazing spot and would recommend!"

PPoppy LeeI stayed at Courtyard by Marriott Edinburgh from 22 February to 26 February 2026 in Room ***. Unfortunately, my experience fell significantly below the service and housekeeping standards expected of the Marriott brand. 1) 22 February 2026 (Check-in) Upon arrival, I immediately noticed several cleanliness issues with my room. The kettle was dusty and visibly dirty, the shower gel was completely empty, there were noticeable stains on the bed sheets, the shower room floor was unclean, and the shower water pressure was extremely poor. I reported these issues to the front desk on the same day. In addition, during the check-in process, the staff did not provide any information about hotel amenities, such as gym operating hours, availability of facilities like the ice machine or microwave, or other services. I only became aware of some of these facilities on my last day during check-out, which was disappointing. 2) 23 February 2026 The shampoo had run out and was not replenished during housekeeping services. I emailed the Front Office Manager regarding both the missing amenities and the ongoing low shower pressure issue. I did not receive any response. 3) 24 February 2026 The situation continued. Coffee and tea bags were not refilled, the stained bed sheets had still not been changed since Day 1 check-in, and both shampoo and conditioner were empty. I called the same Front Office Manager twice, and only shampoo was delivered. I then contacted the front desk twice more to clearly request conditioner, yet incorrect items were delivered again. As a result, the conditioner remained unreplenished for me for 3 consecutive days (22–24 February). 4) 25 February 2026 In the morning, I requested a new toothbrush through the front desk and was told housekeeping would provide one during housekeeping service. When I returned to my room after housekeeping, no toothbrush had been supplied. I later learned that when Trip.com contacted the hotel on my behalf regarding the service lapses, the Operations Manager informed them that everything had been “addressed and settled with me” which was not accurate. While individual staff members made partial attempts to assist, the repeated housekeeping lapses, lack of follow-up, and unresolved maintenance issue reflect systemic operational shortcomings rather than isolated mistakes. Throughout my entire stay (22–26 February), the shower water pressure issue remained unresolved. The hotel’s location is excellent and within walking distance of many major attractions, which helps save on public transport costs. However, good location alone does not compensate for the overall service deficiencies experienced during this stay. As a paying guest, I expected basic cleanliness, consistent replenishment of amenities, and responsive service, especially from a reputable hotel property like Marriott. Unfortunately, those expectations were not met during this stay.

PPratik KarkhanisWe stayed at Mount Royal Hotel in Edinburgh for 4 nights. The rooms are small but clean, and our room had a stunning view of the Scott Monument—definitely a highlight! The bathroom was quite compact as well, and the beds weren’t very soft, but for the price, the location is unbeatable. Just a 5-minute walk to charming bakeries like The Milkman, and so convenient for exploring the city. The staff were incredibly sweet and polite, making our stay even more enjoyable. Don’t miss the view from the bar near the reception—it’s gorgeous!

PPengguna TetamuService was good enough and as per expectations of a big hotel brand. Nothing to complain about. The only complaint I have is about the amenities. There was no dental kit provided in the room and when requested for, I was asked to come down to the reception to collect it rather than have housekeeping deliver to the room. There was no single use slippers either and I had to pay £5 for it which I felt was pretty excessive for a disposable pair of slippers.. I paid for it anyway since I needed it. The staff were kind about it though and could do nothing as it was hotel policy. Hope Novotel can review its policies on the provision of these amenities.

PPengguna Tetamu⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Stayed at Stewart by Heeton Concept for 2 days and I would absolutely love to come back in the future! The apartment was spotless — no dust, no bed bugs, fresh clean bedsheets, and a tidy washroom. Everything was well-maintained and made for a really comfortable stay. It truly felt like a great place to relax and unwind. The only two things I’d mention as areas for improvement: the check-out time of 10:30 AM felt a little early, and a few basic toiletry amenities like toothpaste, a toothbrush, and slippers were missing. Everything else was provided and well-stocked. Overall a fantastic stay and highly recommended. Will definitely be returning! 😊

PPengguna TetamuIt's a great location as I was attending a conference at the Edinburgh Convention Center next door. Front desk is ok & quote pleasant. Breakfast @ £13 was quite good. The spread was more than adequate. However the room would not be cleaned during the stay & 2 towels were provided. There was no fridge or in-room phone to contact the front desk. There are no room amenities eg brdroom slippers or toiletries. For the room rates of ~£200 this standard is terrible.

The location can be quite tricky but I did not mind the walk to Princes Street which is about 10 minutes. The amenities provided were good and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The cleaning staff did a good job but since it is a rug flooring, I found that nails from previous guests were still on the flooring which indicated it needed a proper cleaning process. The check-out time of the hotel (11 a.m.) does not coincide with that on the site (12 00) but it was not an issue since the staff let us keep the room until 11 30 a.m.

Staff are lovely, and were so helpful when I had a medical emergency and needed to go to the ER in the middle of the night. They also were so good with helping me extend my stay by one night at the last minute due to said emergency. The front desk team also checked how I was doing when I came back! The cleaning team did at one point only do a half clean, where they cleaned the main room but not the bathroom, and another time left supplies in my room. But that was minor as my bathroom wasn’t really dirty anyway. I do wish the breakfast closed a little later (closes at 10am) but that is also just me being a late riser! Altogether a great stay.

AAdr8I stayed at a&o Edinburgh Hostel for 4 nights, from 9 June to 13 June, in a private 4-bed room with an ensuite bathroom. The check-in experience got off to a poor start when I was informed that the lift was out of order. Unfortunately, my room was on the 5th floor, meaning I had to carry luggage and climb five flights of stairs throughout my stay. The room itself was functional and reasonably comfortable, but the bathroom is in desperate need of refurbishment. The sliding shower door was broken and felt like it could come off its hinges at any moment. The shower floor was also visibly cracked. To make matters worse, the bathroom uses a motion-sensor light that does not detect movement inside the shower area, so the lights repeatedly switched off while showering. The blackout curtains were ineffective because they were too narrow to fully cover the window. Since there is no air conditioning in the hostel, the windows had to be left open for ventilation. Unfortunately, this meant enduring constant and often very loud noise from outside, making it difficult to rest. What disappointed me most, however, was the service from one particular receptionist — a bald gentleman with a lip piercing. While the rest of the staff were friendly, helpful and professional, this employee's attitude was remarkably indifferent and bordered on rude. When my key card stopped working, my family was left waiting outside our room on the 5th floor while I ran downstairs to seek assistance. Rather than acknowledging the urgency of the situation, he abruptly told me to stand aside and wait while he continued checking in another guest. After waiting several minutes, he reprogrammed the card, but it still did not work. I then had to make another trip down five flights of stairs to ask for further help. This time, I was told that I would have to wait until he had checked in three more groups before he could assist me again. Considering my family was stranded outside the room and the issue had not been resolved, I found this response completely unacceptable and lacking in basic customer service. Thankfully, another staff member stepped in and helped resolve the problem quickly. To be fair, every other member of staff I encountered during my stay was pleasant, courteous and genuinely helpful. Unfortunately, the attitude and conduct of this one employee left a lasting negative impression and significantly detracted from the overall experience. Overall, a&o Edinburgh offers functional accommodation in a convenient location, but the property is showing signs of wear and maintenance issues need attention. Combined with inconsistent customer service, my stay was average at best. Some amenities published were not available.
