Lovely place to stay in the heart of Bucharest. The rooms are quiet and comfortable. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner were outstanding. Loved the waiters. So funny and attentive. Front desk staff were perfect. Bell staff were helpful. Beds were comfortable and elevators worked well. My only complaint is a group of young men hang around outside the hotel. They seem to be there all the time. They followed us inside once when we were unloading luggage and equipment. It was a bit unnerving to have them leave their seats outside the hotel to follow us into the lobby. They only did that when we had equipment and bags in our hands.

Had a great stay, right in the middle of the Old Center, everything was within walking distance and very beautiful. Renovated classical buildings all around, hosting charming cafes and restaurants. The metro station was also within walking distance, but i gotta say there was no parking spots belonging to the hotel, we had to find our way, and pay for it, but close-by.

I’ve been staying at this hotel for the past 10+ years and it has always been a lovely experience - especially due to its convenient location and overall ambiance, however, this will be the last time. I wanted to use the laundry services on Friday morning and called the reception at 10:30. They told me “you’re too late”. Given the “end of the world” was not announced I asked several time what he (Cristian) means by “too late” knowing that I was staying for another 2 days and that as per laundry papers in the room only on Sunday laundry services were not available. He did not know that I was ok to pay for the express service (and of course he did not even ask). Learning: a better approach (for hotel revenue that is) is to ask the client by when they need the service and then to offer options. Let them make the final choice and do not assume. After I explained all the above I asked if I could leave the laundry on Friday morning so it is send on Saturday but he said I should bring it on Saturday morning (you will see the issue later on). No thinking here about what works / is more convenient for the client. Saturday morning, given one of the guests in the room left early, I passed by reception at 5am. Same Cristian was in charge. I asked if I could leave the laundry then (to be able to sleep further and also not be late for the hotel deadline) he told me “no, you should call room service past 7am once the ladies handling the room service start work. To my surprise, when calling reception at 8am on Saturday morning, I was told there is no laundry service on Saturday & Sunday by another Cristian who was working at the reception. Confused by this all I decided I will finally use the laundry service at the next hotel where I was scheduled to stay on my journey. And mentioned I will have to write this review because it’s simply mind blowing experience (he was not aware of the entire saga - though to be honest looked very similar to the other Cristian). 5 minutes later he approached me and told me that he discussed switch room service personnel and if my choice is to use the express option, it is indeed possible to use the laundry service - which I finally took for convenience - my clothes were soaking wet since the heavy rain on Thursday evening). If indeed the 2 receptionists are different, I think it becomes clear that you should instill in them the focus on the customer and finally for your revenue as well and give them a training on the hotels’ services as well as on how to speak to the customers.

Stopped here in a King Suite with my husband for 2 nights, visiting family and was seriously impressed. The room was bigger than most of the flats I've ever owned! Everywhwere was kept clean and we really liked the fact that there were sofas on each floor if you wanted to relax/have a drink/wait for lift. LOL, Not that we're lazy. Every member of staff we came into contact with were helpful, friendly and courteous. Don't expect a full English or American breakfast though, it's traditional fare. Everything we had was fresh and flavoursome - cold meats, salads, cheeses, etc. 10 minute walk to the metro and retail park. A fraction of the price of hotels in Bucharest and only 20 minutes on the metro into the city centre. Only 10 days to go before our next visit and cannot wait to get into the outdoor pool and top up our tans!

A bit drab on arrival and the staff are not the friendliest. Good sized room that was clean and had all the amenities needed - other than tea and coffee facilities. Good air con and great lighting. Restaurant closed two out of three evenings, food was mediocre. Breakfast limited to eggs, local sausages, bacon and cubes of quiche on the hot buffet. Rolls, sliced bread and cheese and ham selection on cold buffet. Salad, olives, yoghurt and cereals. Fruit squash rather than juice. Decent been to cup coffee machine. Good location, 20 minute walk to the old town. 40 minute drive to the airport. Don’t expect typical 4 star standards here, at best this is a 3 star but it was clean and comfortable.

A gorgeous hotel, a convenient location in the old historic town, and very nice staff members. What could be wrong? Noise. Not just outdoor dining noise, but loud music from the bar next door. Our room overlooked the street and we closed the windows and the noise from the restaurants was adequately reduced until the terrible singer from the bar next door began to sing with his karaoke. After an hour I went downstairs to the receptionist to inquire whether or not we would be able to sleep that night, as it was impossible with the music pounding next door. She offered us earplugs, and advised that the music would stop before or at midnight. I inquired as to why a patron would not be warned about the noise from the bar before being assigned such a room, and she responded that all the review websites denote that the hotel is adjacent to restaurants, from which I guess that I was to surmise that this would entail excessive noise from the music at the bar next door. Silly me. My reply was that the restaurants were not the issue, it was the bar and the loud music. Once again, the only remedy offered was ear plugs. The music stopped around 11 pm (lucky for us!), and the next morning we presented our complaint to a different receptionist, who was appropriately apologetic, and immediately searched to see if we could move to a different room later in the day. Yes, a room was available, and we packed up our bags after breakfast, left them in the old room, and she had them moved to our new room while we were out for the day. Now that is the appropriate response and great customer service! Thank you!! Now the rooms that do not face the street all front the lobby. That night there was a large group of people who were traveling together and decided that the bar was just not sufficient for their merriment, so they all moved to the hotel lobby and lived it up until a late hour. It was not as bad as the music from the bar, but the hotel had complete control over this source of noise, but we had to wait again for the other patrons to break up on their own. It is really a shame. As I said, the staff members are really pleasant and helpful, except for the first receptionist whose only remedy was earplugs, and this is a nice facility otherwise. However, dear reader, you have now been adequately apprised as to the noise level from the bar next door. If you plan to stay out partying all night, which can be easily accomplished here, then this is your place. If you expect peace and quiet in your room and a good night’s sleep, then you need to look elsewhere.
