We stayed at Hotel Certaldo for three wonderful nights in the lead up to our wedding, and many of our guests also chose to stay at this hotel in the following days. The hotel is beautiful. The light, airy lobby is fresh and modern, and the bedrooms are spacious and full of character. The hotel was absolutely spotless. Our room was cleaned every morning and we had fresh towels and bedsheets daily. I am a fussy sleeper and found the mattress to be very comfortable. We slept like logs every evening! Breakfast was plentiful and there was something for everyone; fresh fruit, pastries, bread, yoghurts, cereal, cold meats and cheeses, coffee, juice and tea, as well as traditional English fry up options such as bacon and sausage. The staff were absolutely lovely. Serena was wonderful and greeted us at breakfast every morning with a smile on her face. She could not do enough for us, and would regularly walk around the pool asking guests if they would like drinks (the aperols are delicious!). Mauro in the afternoons/evenings was equally attentive and would always accompany our drinks orders with cheese, nuts and crisps. All of our guests who stayed at this hotel commented on how lovely it was. Hotel Certaldo played a huge part in our wedding week. It will always hold a special place in our hearts, and we hope to return for our anniversary!

Unica pecca la spa, che non è proprio una spa.una piccola sauna e bagno turco per due persone.tutto comunque pulito e silenzioso.la nostra stanza era una reggia.un bagno enorme e una piccola cabina armadio.abbiamo dormito in un letto comodissimo .ci tornerei adesso. Ho trascorso questo week end con buone prospettive, avevo visto le foto e sembrava che rispecchiasse le ns esigenze. Purtroppo ne sono rimasto un pó deluso. Il campeggio è un pó tanto confusionario dispersivo, ma soprattutto non può rispecchiare le esigenze di una famiglia. Innanzitutto al mio arrivo ho notato con dispiacere una NonVoglia di lavorare, la ragazza alla reception era molto poco disponibile e quasi mi ha fatto sentire a disagio, mi mostra il cartaceo, la mappa mi indica il ns alloggio dopo mi guarda e mi dice arrivederci...🤔, ma non doveva forse farci accompagnare da qualcuno, dando anche così il benvenuto? Poi è molto scomodo, noi avevamo delle casette mobili (tra l'altro con pochi accessori per cucinare, e a pagamento un impianto di aria condizionata poco sufficiente) in fondo al campeggio e per arrivare all'ingresso principale e soprattutto in piscina bisogna fare una super scalinata che chi ha soprattutto dei figli in passeggino è del tutto sconsigliata. Poi per non parlare della piscina, un'invasione di gente, ma soprattutto essendo una piscina comunale e quindi non del campeggio, ci sono anche persone al di fuori del camping, quindi per non parlare anche dei lettini ed ombrelloni, questi a pagamento. Tutte queste cose devono essere descritte assolutamente nel sito, io avevo preposto un weekend del tutto diverso da quello capi

This is truly one of the nicest hotel stays I have ever experienced. It is such an elegant resort, spotlessly clean and well-maintained. Our room was in a little ”dovecot” type building and was huge with a separate sitting room/dressing room area and ultra-modern and spacious bathroom. The one thing that set this resort apart from me was the peace and quiet, you literally don't hear a sound apart from an odd car passing but that's it. No loud music, no one shouting or messing at the pool, it was all just very civilized but in a casual way. The staff were really lovely, particularly Luca at the bar area who made the most fabulous Limoncello cocktails for me pre-dinner each evening. Another massive plus for the resort was its proximity to the small town of Colle di Val d'Elsa, when I was researching where to stay in Tuscany I noticed that most of the very nice resorts were outside of towns, this was literally a 5 minute walk or 1-2 minutes by car. The town itself was typically charming with a lovely piazza/square which had some restaurants and bars, a supermarket and a chemist as well as some other small shops. All in all, it was such a memorable and pleasant stay for us, we will definitely return :)

The only reason I would consider giving 2 stars is for the views (from the hotel in general our room was overlooking the parking lot) but I couldn’t get myself to do it. By European standards this is definitely not a 4* hotel - 3 at most. The receptionist was not friendly at all upon arrival - no apology for us waiting at least 10 minutes for him to even acknowledge us, and then he practically laughed in our faces when we normally asked if we’re allowed to park down in the rocky driveway and in a very sarcastic tone said “yes, like everyone else” - wonder if that was because he saw our expensive car. The room was very outdated and dirty. Also, how does a 4* hotel only offer bed sheets as duvets in September which is not too warm at nights and has an old ragged cover to put on top of the sheets - there’s nothing you can put the cover into so we had to improvise (photos). We asked if there were any bed linens and were told that they don’t use them here - we think that that’s crazy unhygienic. The bathroom was just plain dirty and unkept. A wierd thing was happening in the room as well - when you turned off a light it would also turn of some sockets in the room that we were using to charge our devices. I wonder whether that was on purpose to save on energy costs. I have a video of this I wish I could post here. The breakfast was very low quality, nothing fresh, just standard cereal an yoghurt, pastries from a plastic bag (smthg like 7days) and AWFUL coffee from a machine (in Italy?!?). The pool area was dirty and unkept. In general we couldn’t wait to get out of there.
