Big spacious rooms and comfortable beds. The furniture is dated, but the bed and linens are comfortable. The problem here is the noise! There is a restaurant downstairs and dumpsters next to the building where they pick up garbage and recycling starting before 6am. I asked for a quiet room, and was on the street next to the dumpsters. I can't imagine what the non-quiet rooms are like!!! The room was adequately cleaned and the staff was fine, but I was there over a holiday so might be the B team working. The location is top notch, walking distance to everything you might want in Davis. The restaurant attached to the hotel is top-notch
Just had great 3 day stay in a king cottage at the Aggie Inn while in Davis to visit family. We always book a cottage because it's nice having the extra space - especially for 3 adults, and a bedroom that is separated by French doors from the living area. The rooms have a microwave, kuerig coffee maker and refrigerator, two TVs and a queen size foldout couch in the living area. Plus, the bedroom and living area each have their own climate control thermostats. The bathrooms are modern with the sink and large vanity separate from the toilet and shower. We've tried other hotels and even VRBOs in Davis, but the Aggie is by far our favorite. Pretty much all of downtown is within walking distance and there is direct access to the UC Davis Arboretum Trail right across the street, which I highly recommend. Tips: The French doors in our cottage had sheer curtains covering the glass (not sure if they all do), so I always bring a sheet to hang over the doors as light from the night owl on the foldout couch tends to keep me awake. I also bring a sleeping bag or heavy blanket (I'm sure you could get extra blankets from the staff) to lay on the foldout mattress which makes it more comfortable. I've yet to encounter a foldout in any hotel that was truly comfortable; that's just how they are. The kitchenette cottage while very nice, especially if you want to save money by preparing your own food, has an older style bathroom as opposed to the mini fridge cottages which have more modern bathrooms with a large vanity and sink separate from the shower and toilet. Honestly you can't go wrong with either.
We stayed here for a night and wished we can stay for another. Finding the entrance was a little hard, it's right on the left hand side when you drive into the parking lot. Check in was a breeze. We were shocked on how spacious the studio king room was. With kitchen, sofa area and there a place to put your luggage near the bathroom. Spacious bathroom with vent! Multiple plugs everything. Very quiet at night. Will def. come here if we are nearby. Love the layout of the room. Feels very comfortable and spacious. They also have free breakfast, but we didn't get to try it. A small pool and a basketball court.
I've been in hotels of this segment across the US, this one a number of times, and can say without a doubt this is the nicest I've been for the price tag. - Spotless rooms! You can choose the cadence of your cleaning, but at the time they set you up the room is squeaky clean. - Great Breakfast. Not your usual breakfast bar. The management really puts an effort to offer you a very good breakfast. That is probably what I appreciate the most! - Friendly staff. Everyone is kind and helpful. The manager is an awesome lady who puts love into running this hotel. You can see it everywhere.
The staff were very friendly and ready to support the guests. The hotel room was spacious and both the bed and bedding were comfortable. Breakfast was the same menu every day but enough to start the day and complimentary coffee and drinking water was a great benefit to me.

U.S. Bicycling Hall of Fame
TTodemmyI really enjoyed this museum. I am a big fan of two-wheelers (and three-wheelers, etc) and this museum had some wonderful examples. Streamliners? Yes. Bamboo bikes? Yes. 6-man velodrome pacing bike? Yes indeed! (I'd love to ride that one). Lots of exhibits on three floors. If you enjoy bicycle history, this is a must-see while you are in town. If it's Saturday morning, you will be adjacent to the Farmer's market! Yum!
Jan Shrem and Maria Manetti Shrem Museum of Art
TTodemmyThis museum was so informative about the history of the indigenous Native American people who lived here before the land was taken over. This history is essential to understand, there are rooms you can sit inside, and many artifacts along with photos. I really appreciate museums that represent history with respect, there’s information about California history too.
Bohart Museum of Entomology
TTodemmyThere was quite a crowd at the beginning of the exhibit. The chronology and explanations were very informative and evocative of the horrors people endured as well as the courage many exhibited as well.
