Hotel Sant'Orso - Mountain Lodge & Spa

We loved our stay at Sant’orso hotel Stayed on the 4th floor with a spectacular view of the meadow and the Gran Paradiso mountain We had aperitif every day on the balcony Guest of the hotel have free access to a nice spa Breakfast is served between 8-10 am and it was really yummy We didn’t book half board but we ended up eating dinner twice at the hotel and the food didn’t disappoint

Gorgeous hotel in a small Italian alpine village. Several couples stayed at this hotel in September while on a group hiking trip. The hotel was lovely, rooms were all different with some modern and some more of an old fashioned design. Housekeeping was excellent and so fast in the morning . The outdoor hot tub was great , massage in the spa excellent and having drinks on the lawn in the late afternoon while the temperatures were still in the high 20's was wonderful. The bar had fantastic entertainment the second night we were there, hard to leave to go and have dinner. The front desk staff were very helpful and friendly . We loved staying here and I would recommend . The only disconnect was the "bag lunch" we purchased to go on our hikes each day- absolutely terrible . It was literally a hard bun with meat or cheese, or cheese , or lettuce cheese etc, no spread of any kind. Considering this is a hotel in a hiking area this should be much better. Also, the hotel was very busy in the morning and at breakfast it was difficult to find a waiter to order our tea and coffee.

Excellent location with friendly and efficient staff. We were part of a tour and were all provided outstanding service with clean and quite rooms and awesome views. It included breakfast, happy hour and dinner. Near many hiking and walking trails. The owner was a fantastic host.

I’m a bit surprised by all the positive reviews. We payed almost 300 euro per night and is not worth it at all. You have a playground in front of your room with screaming children from 10am to 10pm. Facilities are not updated, room still with a real key like in the 90s, breakfast quite basic and with pre assigned table. That it means you will get the worst table in the room because the decent ones are reserved to the guests who have been going there for the latest 20 years. Spa is nice and the staff very friendly. Forget about the rest.

Our tour group stayed here 3 nights. The owner is a wonderful person who gave us a tour of the small village & museum. A few days later showed us how polenta is made. This man was everywhere that I thought he was cloned. Wonderful food and his employees were great. Cogne is a great place to visit and so are the people. Loved this village.

Would have loved to book one week in their great Family rooms this summer. When you book a familyroom for over 3700 euros a week, you would at least think your kids are welcome in the pool after a long of hiking. No, only kids over the age of 12! So our oldest daughter can go for a swim, our youngest has to leave?! Why promote yourself as a hotel with special Family rooms, even mentioning on the website that the “kids are their most precious guests”when your youngest guests are not allowed in the pool Area after 5 pm? Ofcourse each hotelier can makes their own dicisions and target on specific groups, but don’t try to sell yourself as a Family hotel, when you are not!

We have just returned from a week at The Sant Orso in Cogne, together with my wife, son and his partner - what a wonderful experience we have had. Primarily, the location, just on the edge of the Parco Nazionale del Gran Paradiso is excellent - just a few steps away from both the snowed park, and the small town centre. The hotel amenities are just as excellent; namely a very good restaurant, superb food, great chef and a wonderful ALDINA and her crew, who made our stay very homely; secondly a great spa, yes a small pool, however the treatments with got from CHIARA and her colleagues surpassed all expectations - we were surely in great hands. Finally we have to once again mention the chef, New Year's Eve supper was superb, very tasty, timely and on the dot. FILIPPO, you have a good thing going, keep this up, we will surely be back.

Soggiorno di una settimana in questo hotel nel mese di agosto. La struttura è bella, pulita e curata, la nostra stanza era carina ma forse un po' troppo piccola per il prezzo pagato, tenuto anche conto del fatto che era senza balcone. Il centro benessere è ampio e ben fornito, belle le piscine sia quelle interne che la vasca esterna. La posizione è buona perché è centralissima, però a mio parere troppo vicina al parco giochi sempre pieno di bambini piccoli; non si tratta di una vera e propria pecca naturalmente, la mia osservazione scaturisce semplicemente da una preferenza personale. Il cibo è molto buono, gustoso e per niente pesante, l'offerta è piuttosto varia ma a mio avviso si potrebbe ampliare un po' il menù del giorno. Il personale è cortese e disponibile.

Entrati in struttura,nessuno che ci accoglie. Entriamo nel ristorante da soli e vediamo solo ospiti che stanno pranzando(capiamoci 5 tavoli) e ancora nessuno che passa. Incrociamo un ragazzo giovane e gli chiediamo se è possibile pranzare e non essendo autorizzato ci chiede gentilmente di attendere che chieda al maitre. Arriva il maitre(atmosfera ghiacciata) vi propone il tavolo proprio accanto a dove ci trovavamo (più lontano possibile dalle vetrate)che avremmo anche accettato se non fosse che avevano una disponibilità di tavoli direi infinita. Rifiutiamo il tavolo e chiediamo di averne uno più vicino alla vetrata e grazie a qualche santo la nostra richiesta è stata accettata. Ci sediamo ordiniamo l’acqua e ci portano le carte dove si può trovare una piccola scelta di vini valdostani.. di nuovo il giovane ragazzo ci aiuta portandoci la carta vini..(evviva!!! Un po’ di scelta!!) Poi di nuovo nessuno per ordinare il vino.. nel mentre avevamo ordinato i piatti che arrivano prima che abbia avuto modo di trovare qualcuno a cui ordinarlo..facciamo notare la cosa al maitre che borbotta qualcosa e finalmente riusciamo ad ordinare il vino mentre stiamo già mangiando. Arriva, apre, assaggiamo nel mentre stiamo ultimando il primo piatto va beh.. Bottiglia di bianco messa lì sul tavolo(secchiello del ghiaccio inesistente🤷🏼‍♀️.. non chiediamo, tanto beviamo velocemente). Alzano i primi e mi accorgo di non avere nemmeno il pane a tavola..Bohhhh.. chiediamo e lo otteniamo (avremmo voluto annullare il secondo piatto ordinato ma ormai siam lì e manca ancora mezza bottiglia di vino da bere). Arriva il secondo e finalmente arriva il momento più bello della permanenza in questo ristorante,il conto. Premetto ci seduti alle 13.40 e pagato il conto alle 14.15. Complimenti 👍🏻
