Hotel Terbaik dengan Gimnasium di Como

We lived in Como for a while and walked past this hotel every day. It's literally on the lakefront and as central to the centro storico, the bus station and the train station as it is possible to get. We always thought it would be a nice place to stay. Roll forward and we had reason to visit Como again this week so we booked it. I also booked another room for someone we were planning to meet in Como. The hotel is one of those elegant old-school hotels you could imagine from reading about the grand old days of ('old' in the sense of traditional, elegant and sophisticated - but not 'old' in a 'tired' way). Imagine the exact opposite of a modern steel & glass skyscraper hotel and this is what you will find here. Staff were very attentive and friendly (while still being unobtrusive and professional). Food was excellent. Maybe the breakfast was a little but expensive but that's the way it is with hotels - just book it with your reservation and you'll save. Dinner in the restaurant overlooking the fountain (twice) was fantastic. Many of the dishes were not as expensive as local tourist ripoffs elsewhere in the City. The Cotoletta Milanese was as good as I have ever tasted anywhere in northern Italy (imagine a soft, succulent Veal steak covered in breadcrumbs) and big enough to share 1/3 of it and still be full afterwards. The Lunch menu was better and less expensive than places with much less quality on the menu. Overall, I would happily recommend the Palace Hotel to anyone. Treat yourself and book a room with a Lake View. You won't regret the extra few Euro.

I stayed here for a few nights while working in Lugano Switzerland nearby. I thought the room was really good and clean and I had a nice balcony. The rate was very good. I liked that the hotel was a bit away from the city center, but a nice walk to the old walled city. I mapped 800M to the Porto Torre in the old city and 1.3 KM to the Cathedral by the lake. It felt like being in the real town of Como, not the fully tourist area. There is a really nice rooftop bar with a pool and I went there for drinks and had some decent food there also. I also had quite a nice breakfast buffet included. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I really enjoy walking, and they gave me an excellent map and directed me on a lovely walk around the lake to Cernnobio the next village over and I took a ferry back that was only 2.5 euros. I would definitely stay here again next time I am in Como.

Really enjoyed this hotel. Stayed for 4 nights as part of our honeymoon. Received a free upgrade and a bottle of fizz which was great. Staff at the hotel were brilliant and there are a lot of them which meant service was fast and efficient. Pool area and outside restaurant is stunning and food in the Kincho restaurant was really good. For some reason the inside italian restaurant inside was temporarily closed but the outside restaurant made up for this. Couldnt get a table for the michelin star restaurant. Breakfast amazing. One of the best I've had. Location is great. 5 minute walk from Cernobbio and the ferry stop. Yes its not in Como city itself but if you do your research you would know this. If I had to be picky I would say that the shower in the bathroom could be improved as it is an over bath shower but at a weird angle which meant water went everywhere. Also the gym is pretty basic for a hote of this stature and didnt look like it was looked after. Free shuttle bus was welcome but the bus was small and there was no organisation for the bus. TV could have a better variety of channels. They charge for water at the restaurant but it appeared to be tap water which seemed a bit of a rip off. Overall great stay and would stay again.
