Mas Manyaques

I stayed at Mas Manyaques with my children aged 2 and 4. From the website it looked the perfect venue, with large play areas and a pool, but it turned out to be very different, with safety being the biggest let down. I spent most of my holiday running after my children trying to prevent them from hurting themselves, I couldn't even relax by the pool as there is a deep stone trench just behind the pool area, that they were drawn too like magnets, but if they'd fallen it would have at the least been a broken limb. That wasn't the only deep trench either, there was another one running all along the front of Mas Manyaques, so I couldn't even relax when they were playing outside. To make matters worse there were steep stone steps down to one of the apartments, the owner had put a gate in only half way down the steps, not at the top but half way down, so my children had to be constantly stopped from trying to go down them. Added to this there was a dirty old fountain near the play area, filled with gungy green water, a grotty area, where rubble and old materials were left lying about, oh and our toilet kept overflowing (in reality our apartment didn't look like the website pictures)! This was the most awful holiday i've ever had with my children. The place was in a lovely setting and we did do some lovely sightseeing from where we were and I would go back to the area, but not to this venue, its far to unsafe for children. I definitely would not recommend this place to anyone.

I have just returned from a week in Mas Manyaques with my two daughters (6+8 yrs) and without going through the entire list of things I would just say that KC Spaniel’s July review is pretty accurate, although we had superb weather so the unheated pool was not a problem. What was a problem was the presence of rats in our apartment. The owner, Lidia, tried to assure me it was fine as they were country not town rats but apart from the risk of them biting us while we slept they were incredibly noisy at night and certainly not welcome in the bedroom! La Chappelle is damp to the point that your clothes and books are affected and the mouldy, musty smell makes it quite miserable to spend any time in. Small inconveniences like loss of electricity, electrical wires protruding from the wall, bare plug sockets, over-flowing toilets, constantly blocked kitchen sinks, cracked and broken plastic sun chairs with not a lounger cushion in sight are bearable individually but added together give you the feeling of being in a rundown house. Don’t be taken in by any of the carefully styled photographs of pretty curtains and windows and the ludicrous fairytale descriptions on the various Mas Manyaques websites. This house COULD be stunning as it’s set in beautiful surroundings but only if a large amount of money was spent immediately on rewiring, replumbing, redecorating, damp proofing, refurnishing and refurbishing. A customer friendly manager would also help as the new owner, Lidia, doesn’t seemed to have grasped what needs to be done if people are paying to holiday in her house. I would not recommend this accommodation to anyone.

Hemos pasado unos días estupendos. La casa estaba muy limpia, bien equipada y cuidada al detalle. El entorno es precioso, perfecto para desconectar y disfrutar de la tranquilidad. Los anfitriones fueron muy amables y atentos en todo momento. Sin duda volveremos y la recomendamos totalmente.

Un lieu où vous laissez de côté votre vie quotidienne de tumultes pour une bulle de repos, de déconnexion et d’union avec la Nature avec tout ce qu’elle a de généreux 🌴🐧. Nous avons passé de bonnes vacances au gîte tout à fait charmant de Mas Manyaques. Le lieu offre des avantages intéressants: Liberté, détente, farniente, balades au bord de la rivière Le Tech, barbecues, les animaux chaleureusement accueillis, situation géographique pour visiter la région. Le gîte L’Horizon est spacieux et joliment aménagé avec sa petite terrasse qui offre la possibilité de se protéger de la pluie tout en restant dehors. La literie est convenable. Néanmoins il sera préférable de fournir davantage d’ustensiles de cuisine. Merci Lidia de votre accueil et à bientôt!
