Hotel Dortmund dengan Gim

Hotel is closely located to the Messe Dortmund and surrounded by a park and easily accessible by the underground railway. Rooms are a bit outdated and small but clean and also had a small fridge. Staff was ok but could’ve been friendlier. They initially told me that our booking didn’t include breakfast which turned out to be wrong after we’ve approached them again a bit later at the reception after having double-checked our booking confirmation. Our room was on the lower floors and directly facing the parking lot which was quiet noisy due to the small parking lot and people try to get in and out with their car. Also, no room service is offered (if one wants to eat, the only option is to go down to the restaurant and get a table). For a four star hotel and the money per night, we would've definitely expected more in terms of standard and service.

Stayed here while attending Dortmund football match. Location : Great location, literally around the corner from main shopping district with lots of restaurants and bars to choose from. Great area. The underground train station is around the corner and the main train station about 20 mins walk or less. Rooms: Our room was nice (117) we had 3 in our party so the room had one double bed and a pull out sofa bed which was a double. It left the room with hardly any space to walk around so was quite tight. The decor was nice. However the seal on the window was damaged so you could actually feel the breeze getting in (during snow weather) The tv had only one English Channel so wasn’t great. BE WARNED check if there is any party’s or function on in the hotel if you are staying in this room as there was a party on while we stayed and literally felt like the dj was in our wardrobe the music was that loud. Singing and talking could even be heard clearly. I did say it to girl in reception the next morning and she apologised but literally got no sleep until music stopped. Bar/Food: We did not have dinner in the hotel restaurant so cannot comment. Restaurant decor was ok, very 1920’s feel. There is a very small bar that usually only opens from 5pm-12pm however one of the days they opened for us to have a drink at 3:30pm which was no bother for them, they were very nice and a special mention to Ben the new Barman from the UK. He’s great! Breakfast wasn’t great, but that may be just us that’s used to Irish style food. Not much hot food on offer, pancakes and plenty fab pastries though. If going to a Dortmund match : We travelled to Dusseldorf airport and got the sky train into the main train station on to Dortmund €16.50 each one way. It was difficult to find out correct trains ect as very bad signage at airport and trains so do your homework before you get there. It took us over an hour to figure it out. Train journey from airport was 50 mins. We got a taxi from our hotel to signal iduna park and it took 8 mins and costs €14. Easy to get taxis after match too which was surprising.

This hotel is a business hotel. I myself visited for a work trip. It had everything you could need. The gym was very well equipped for someone trying to stick to routine while working away from home. The pool and saunas were lovely too. The breakfast buffet was the best I’ve ever had in a hotel. The hotel has a wundermart which is handy if you get peckish. The only issue was dinner. The choice was very poor and both times I got food they were not fully cooked. The restaurant is also closed on Sundays.

Das Hotel ist direkt an der B1 gelegen, weshalb man dieses gut findet. Die Parksituation ist jedoch etwas schwierig. An der Straße selbst ist die Parkplatzsuche meist nicht von Erfolg gekrönt und die Tiefgarage ist für neuere Autos sehr eng. Das Hotel selbst ist gut und für eine Nacht kann man nichts dazu sagen. Leider ist es jedoch in manchen Punkten (z.B. Badezimmer) etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Das Frühstück ist seinen Preis auf jeden Fall wert. Eine gute Auswahl und für alles etwas dabei.

Average hotel but outdated. One elevator was out of order due to maintenance work and the hotel inside appeared rather dark. Room was ok but also outdated and had a unpleasant smell which didn't go away even with a lot of airing. Big window which was nice but if open would stand in the way of the sitting area. Was there with a dog and there was a note in the room saying that dogs cannot be left alone in the hotel room (probably there have been too many barking and destroying dogs in the past). Not sure if this is the right way to welcome dogs and their owners as not all dogs cause noise and trouble. Nice that there was a small fridge and safe and in overall, ok stay.

Hervorragendes Stadthotel in perfekter Nähe zur Innenstadt, zum Bahnhof sowie zum Deutschen Fußball-Museum! Wunderschöne, gemütlich eingerichtete Lobby und Bar. Außergewöhnliches, wunderbares, vielfältiges Frühstück bis 12:00 Uhr! Hier gibt es alles was das Herz begehrt! Sehr freundliches, hilfsbereites Personal. Sehr schöne, saubere und gut ausgestattete Zimmer. Absolutes Wohlfühl-Hotel. Wir können dieses Haus besten Gewissens weiterempfehlen und haben hier als Familie (2 Erw. + 1 Kind) ein wunderbares Wochenende in Dortmund verbringen dürfen! Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder. Weiter so!

This was our second stay - the hotel staff is friendly and the rooms are spacious and the bathrooms are great. Breakfast is buffet style and the offerings range from hot breakfast to cereals to typical German and international dishes. There's plenty seating available even during busy times. Unfortunately, the hotel does not have its own parking garage and as last year we ended up parking in a parking garage in town. The car was safe there, but it is about a 10 minute walk. The hotel has a designated parking garage which we were unable to locate due to building work/road work in the area. Much of the area around the hotel is restricted or ”no parking”, so be aware that you may get ticketed if you leave your vehicle unattended. The hotel gives easy access to the Phoenix See (Lake) with its restaurants, sculptures, and a few shops.

Just back from a wonderful stay at this hotel. Great location close to the train station, the city centre and the U-Bahn station so very easy to get to & from. Despite the busy location, our room was very quiet. Even with both windows open at night, we barely heard any noise. The room was nice & cozy, clean with plenty of storage. It appears that someone had run off with the TV remote but the staff immediately fixed the issue and brought us a new one. And speaking of the staff, every single person working there was nothing but friendly & helpful. From the lady at reception who upon learning that we were going to the medieval market, immediately got us a map of the city & explained how to get there & where the other markets (and the largest Christmas tree) were. Even the breakfast staff on Sunday found us a spot to sit & were very approachable even though they were clearly rushed off their feet during the breakfast rush. We were very well looked after. Breakfast was great every day. After 2 nights of markets & gigs, we slept in on Sunday so arrived during peak time for breakfast but the other 3 mornings, it was a lot calmer/quieter. The hotel is embracing the city's cultural heritage beautifully. It inspired us to seek some of the city's former steelworks. Overall highly recommend the hotel & its staff.

Very central to everything we needed. We took the breakfast option - variety of bread, hams. cheese and sausage. Scrambled and boiled eggs, fresh fruit, jams, yoghurt and cereals, juices and excellent coffee and other hot drinks. Glad we chose this option as there did not seem too many cafes offering breakfast nearby - only chains. The ladies who dealt with breakfast were lovely, really helpful and friendly. The only reason I've not given a 5 rating is that (for us) the bed was a little firm and the pillows were far too soft and on our last night (Saturday) the hotel must be near a nightclub as all we could hear was thumping music into the early hours (2am!) of the morning. Would just advise getting a room on the opposite side of the hotel.

Sehr empfehlenswert, wenn man beruflich mit dem Auto übernachten will. Parkplätze sind direkt am Gebäude. Die Zimmer wurden gerade komplett renoviert, sind modern und haben geräumige Bäder. Das Personal ist freundlich, besonders hervorzuheben war die Bereitschaft der Küche etwas zu kochen, was nicht auf der Karte stand. Status (Marriott Bonvoy) bringt nichts für zimmerupgrades, da es nur eine Kategorie gibt. Allerdings werden die Daily Voucher sehr kundenfreubdlich ausgelegt. Getränke der minibar bzw. Restaurant sind ziemlich teuer. Alternative Restaurants oder Supermärkte in laufweite habe ich nicht gesehen.
