We arrived at midnight and the host was very helpful with the check-in via phone. The room and the beds were clean. The air-con and the hot water supply were nice. The only thing insufficient was not having toothbrush and toothpaste inside the room. Overall the experience was nice and I will choose to stay here next time.

I booked direct for a 1 night stay after my 14 day covid isolation after returning from overseas. People were lovely and the room was great. Everything I needed before my flight to Cairns. There is a Woolworths in walking distance where I grabbed some food and supplies. It is a Motel not a Hotel and was more than adequate for my stay I would recommend it if you are looking for a spacious quiet room for the night or a base for a few days.

I felt like I landed on another planet at this place. I arrived just before 7:30pm and the woman at the front desk could not have been more lovely and helpful. Unfortunately my room (1) was quite musty and the smell really unpleasant, so I opened the window to air it out a bit, but then got cold so closed it. It was then that I realised that though the bed was nicely made, for some reason it was made without a blanket. I found the blanket in the cupboard, but the cupboard was so mouldy, I was afraid to touch the blanket. Luckily I just happened to be traveling with my hot water bottle, so I used that and one of the towels on the bed to keep me warm. The continental breakfast was a nice bonus, very clean and tidy but it was in the breakfast room that I realised that every single person there was male. They all seemed to kind of know each other as well, so I wondered if it was maybe a halfway house? I couldn't figure it out. Even so, they all seemed pleasant enough, though I felt a bit out of place. Like I was intruding on something and didn't belong there. In the end, though I'm quite simple in my needs, it was a bizarre experience that I don't think I need to re-live. Oh yes, I will mention that the shared toilets were spotless. And the building that they advertise is not the building I stayed in, so that also added to things not quite making sense. I had landed in the Twilight Zone!

Vomit) Splash marks on walls & roof Cigarette marks on curtains Plastic wrap on smoke detector - fire hazard Shower screen broken Toast still in toaster Bedside light pulled out from wall - electrical hazard Aircon has flashing E7 not working - Fan in freezer missing- - hazardous Shutters broken Unsteady bunk beds No quilts on buck befs Tablets & rubbish from previous guests under couch - child hazard Dirty benches A rat 🐀 floating in the pool Booked due to good reviews on a booking site, proximity to airport & a shuttle bus service advertised as being provided. Had to arrange own transfer to airport, no customer service just text messages. Paid $260 for 1 night non refundable unless canceled day before arriving. Emailed motel & group - no response Unsafe accommodation- do not stay here

Jennifer on reception was hugely helpful; made our stay very easy and smooth after I drove for five hours and my family flew for 24 to get to Brisbane! Apartment was good to prepare easy meals in (Kidman Suite).

We originally booked into the Novotel on a premium king room rate paying $319 to include breakfast. This was booked incorrectly due to some glitch in their booking system - which meant I couldn’t stay there at the time I wanted to and I was given a credit to use at another time. We used this credit last night and when checking in we were told we could park downstairs. No mention anywhere of cost. We went to our room and upon showering at around 11:30 - our shower was blocked and wouldn’t drain. We had to call front desk and at midnight nearly had to change rooms so we could shower. Came down in the mornign to have our buffet breakfast that we paid for - and we’re told that we weren’t on the list and couldn’t have breakfast without paying again. Off to reception and point out that not only did we actually already pay for breakfast in our original booking but pointed out that we have paid $319 for our room and right now on the website you can pay $310 for the same room WITH breakfast included. The manager Teresa was extremely unhelpful and told us that there’s nothing to be done about it. We would have to just wait to talk to reservation team in an hour. We decided to check out and leave. Still nothing mentioned about parking and yet when I go to exit the car park I was asked to pay $25 to validate parking! Absolutely unacceptable service. We should have been comped breakfast straight away as ANY one can see we clearly paid a rate that matches breakfast and it’s not OUR fault that Novotel lost track of it and didn’t book the follow up room properly. I travel for work multiple times a month and I will never recommend a Novotel again for either business or personal use.
