Me and my husband recently stayed Monday to Friday at the beautiful Marriott hotel holyrood Edinburgh. We treated ourselves for our anniversary and booked a very lovely and comfortable deluxe king room ,the huge walk in shower in the bathroom is amazing. Beds are comfortable and the rooms are very decent and very clean . We didn't have breakfast just booked the room for our stay as was plenty of places close by cowgate ,royal mile even walking down to grass market area for food ,from breakfast to evening meals ,and so close to main attractions We did use the other facilities like the pool and sauna which was lovely. The check in Staff were really friendly,easy check in on day we arrived and we had a dessert left in the room with happy anniversary message as a welcome which was lovely little touch . One little thing which is properly going seem silly and petty to some but we had a expensive box of chocolates that we had brought with us had been brought as a gift with a expensive bottle of wine and cards we brought to open the morning of our anniversary,I left the chocolates out on the table in the room on Thursday when we went out for the day and we was in early evening,husband had thought I had eaten quite a lot of the box as most had gone ,i know sounds petty to some but I don't quite think it's right for staff ,only staff come in your room to change towels etc while your out and help themselves,if I was giving a box of chocolates to staff I would do so on last day we hadn't checked on Thursday all our stuff was in the rooms our check out day was Fridays morning. But other then that it was a wonderful stay
