Ross-on-Wye

We stayed here on the 29th August as we always use the hotel as a stopover when we visit family in south Wales . However as the hotel is undergoing a renovation services are not quite as good as normal. They only have a limited menu and when we went for our breakfast they were running out of things. Having said that we must thank Amy in the restaurant for being so understanding. Hopefully things will be sorted before we stay next time.

I've stayed in a lot of premier inns across the country. Usually you know what to expect and some even surprise. This place is very poor. The whole place needs closing and have a full refurbishment. The rooms are tired and grubby. Silicone and grout discoloured, bath stained, windows dusty. There's some form of work going on to the right of reception in the first 2 rooms. Apparently a restaurant (strange) they started work with the SDS drill at 8.30am sharp on a Sunday morning. Luckily it didn't bother me as I have 2 kids and had been out of bed since 6am. The corridor is full of dust from the works. The staff seem unfriendly. Not once did any of them even acknowledge myself. Breakfast - don't waste your time eating here. The beefeater has shut down and I'm not sure what they're trying to do. We waited over an hour for the 'food' to arrive even though we had been one of a few in there. The food was disgusting. We had been told its all cooked to order so I don't mind waiting. But they had only been cooking a few tiny sausage and some undercooked bacon and over cooked egg. 1 hour really? Do yourself a favour and go elsewhere for breakfast. Obviously won't be returning and had only been here for a wedding due to location. Poor standard premier inn when Usually they're pretty decent for a budget hotel.

Much of much premier inn , clean and basic Food next door really bad , waited an hour still no food , staff all new , clearly they were not properly trained and understaffed in the kitchen Cancelled meal and walked out along with several other guest

After a long trip my husband needed to use the toilet before going into the town. He has had kidney cancer so it was necessary. We were told there was no toilet to use. We asked if he could use the toilet in our room which we had already paid for but the answer was no unless we paid £10 for early checkin or use the toilet at the service station across the road!! We had to pay the £10 which was ridiculous. We also had an email the night before telling us the restaurant was closed even though they were offering a special deal for breakfast and dinner. This hotel falls way below the standard normally experienced at a Premier Inn

We booked this hotel as a stopover on the way to our main holiday. We intended to eat at the restaurant have a couple of drinks and go to bed. The day before I received an email to tell me the restaurant was closed. Apparently it had been closed for over a month. Had to take two taxis into town so additional cost to the holiday. Room was ok but despite fan provided was boiling. Staff very helpful and friendly though on the plus side.

This is exactly what you would expect from a premier inn, clean, easy to find and good location for onward travel. However due to the recent weather, the room was 26.5oC at night as there is no air con and although we were provided with a fan, it didn't help much. It was too hot for a comfortable sleep.

Shame restaurant was closed. Apparently new one opening later in the year . Had to drive into town to eat. Only informed of this a week before stay.

This is an old Travellers Rest building and accompanying now defuct Beefeater Restaurant. The site is planned for refurbishment with a new restaurant. The Beefeater facility has been disposed of separately.

Great PI, easy parking, good location for the area. Only setback was that the Beefeater restaurant on site is now permanently closed so not offering evening meals which neans a journey to eat out. They did still provide a goid breakfast though.
