Two days at The Open at Royal Troon this week (Jul 24) and searched TA & Google for convenient hotels. Stumbled over The Redhurst - 30 min drive from golf course. So - took a punt. WOW - WHAT A FIND! OUTSTANDING value for money. Very modern and lovely furnished small hotel. Restaurant was excellent. Bar - well designed and great buzz. Bedroom, though not huge, was good enough and really well furnished, equipped and super comfortable bed and delightfully presented. Ver clean, well furnished with great in room nibbles ( be warned!). Ensuite with shower was well designed and furnished. Dinner menu was not large but more than adequate - simple straight forward good nosh. Crispy BBQ chicken strips , as a starter, is a must- delicious . Their steak & ale pie - WINNER! Meat quality was excellent & plentiful. All freshly cooked, hot and very very tasty. BUT.. the absolute star(s) of the show were the staff. Rarely have I met such young, motivated and customer focussed staff. From front desk, through bar to breakfast & dining staff - all were simply outstanding. They could not have done anything to make our stay any more pleasant. OUTSTANDING! I would highly recommend this hotel whether visiting on Scottish golf tour or Glasgow.I will be organising a golfing trip back to the West coast & will definitely be visiting again this lovely hotel. Thankyou to all the staff!

PPengguna TetamuOn arrival, we were welcomed by a lovely man at reception. He was friendly, informative and had us checked in quickly and efficiently. Our room was fresh, bright, clean, had a very comfortable super king sized bed and a large bathroom with a fantastic shower. There was a fridge with bottled water, biscuits, a coffee machine including a large selection of teas and coffees. Overall, were delighted with our lovely room and look forward to another stay at Hotel Indigo the next time we are in Glasgow.

AAR RoseThis is a new Ibis Styles hotel in central Glasgow. It is newly opened and I will definitely stay here again. The rooms are all music themed (Ie the carpet has pics of the barrowlands market, it’s lovely and there are band names written all over the bathroom wall).
The hotel is very modern (neon signs at reception and bar.
The staff were so lovely.
The breakfast is buffet style but really fresh and lovely ingredients. 10/10 here. A plus factor is, it is served until 11am at weekends
A bonus is it has a 12 o clock check out policy (a massive plus for me as I like a sleep in)

WWinglalaPerfect location surrounded by a lot of restaurants and pubs. A nearby bus stop to go to the airport. The room was not 100% clean and the furniture looked a bit old. Sometimes it was a bit noisy as you can hear clearly when others walked and talked in the hallway but I didn’t mind so much as the prices were very reasonable! I didn’t try the breakfast but the area looked very comfy!

PPengguna TetamuReceptionist welcoming and efficiently advised me of leal times abd the location of the restaurant. Door key card properly functioned throughout my stay. The breakfast buffet was varied and plentiful but would certainly if benefited from more guests. The resrurant was clean and tidy. Cutlery and plates were clean. The coffee machine selection was americano or nothing. I heard another guest asking for oat milk and this was quickly brought.
Bedroom supplies of tea and coffee were plentiful. The bathroom was clean and consumables all worked and the shower pressure and temperature were easily controlled. TV was modern flat screen with a clean and working remote control. The TV signal was fine and the channel selection was basic but adequate.
There's a spacious 24 hour well appointed petrol station with M and S food adjacent to the hotel.
Soundproofing from nearby rooms was adequate and disturbance free.
Staff were all helpful and kind.
The hotel doesn't appear to do anything to encourage locals to use it.

PPengguna TetamuI had booked the last available room here after buying Ed Sheeran tickets for myself and 7yo daughter. I was delighted at being able to secure accommodation such a short distance away - only a 10min walk! For my purpose the room was fine, although I did find the bed pretty hard but a mattress is like Marmite- some people will love it, others will hate it. I’ll admit, to my mind and based on my room alone (I can’t speak for other rooms) this wouldn’t be my choice for a long term stay but for an overnight visit it was fine. Dimitri on the front desk is worth a special mention as he is extremely welcoming, polite and cheery. I had been a bit of an eejit and hadn’t read all the booking instructions but Dimitri was very understanding, took pity on me and gave me a little leeway. So again, another big thank you to him.
