Badgemore Park

Family of 4. We stayed over night prior to a golf competition. Beautiful old country house and grounds maintained to a high standard. We stayed in a large family room with patios opening out onto a walled garden. The beds were really big and comfortable Really friendly, helpful staff. Dinner and breakfast was great. Not to expensive Perfect location to visit Henley.

Mixed review for this trip I am afraid so here we go. My wife and I have been really looking forward to this trip for a while and both came away with the same thoughts, on arrival the estate looked impressive, the grounds were well manicured and impressive, check-in was easy in the club house and we were shown the way to the accommodation through the walled garden. The car park was just outside the rooms so no need to struggle with unloading, the bed was huge (which to be fair I did book for) so big in fact it took up 80% of the room – that leaves no space for anything else in this cramped space other than a vanity unit/desk with 1chair, my bedside cabinet had a hairdryer in the top draw and an iron below that on the bottom draw, there was no point taking them out as there was no other place to put them? You get my feelings by now. the bathroom was however excellent and spacious which was just as well as that was where the small suite case had to live. Plus points- the staff just could not do enough, the breakfast was fabulous and the waitress needs Pay rise - superb service, the location to Henley is just down the road. I was asked on leaving how the stay was and I did comment that the room a bit cramped and dark with a response of - that was on of the larger rooms there are 2 others much smaller. So would I stay here again, only for a 1 night stopover. Martin.

The golf course is stunning. Also had the pleasure of experiencing some amazing service from Henry. He couldn’t have done more! He used his extensive knowledge of the course to prepare us for our tee and was helpful throughout. Will be back soon!

Very nice for work nice room very clean so good food. Don’t know as eat out but big room bathroom is like football pitch. Big staff great no noise. Free car parking very good. Brefast good no problems stay here a lot as nice. 5 mins drive Henley so all good

From the second we arrived to the second we left was a fantastic experience. Checked in promptly to the room where we stayed for one night. Beds were comfy and the room had everything we needed. Had dinner and a drink in the outdoor area looking over the 18th green. The food was incredible so credit to the chef for the dinner and then the breakfast the next morning. Both the ladies on the Saturday night and then again on the Sunday morning provided great customer service so Thankyou all for a great stay.

Just got home from a 2 night stay at Badgemore Park and what a wonderful stay it was. All the staff we met were so friendly and helpful , check in was quick and the breakfast outstanding , nothing was too much trouble for anyone. The bedrooms ( we had 6 & 7) were spotlessly clean and excellent value and the bed very comfortable with all the amenities we would want. We could walk into Henley via the golf course and down hill into town ( about a. 20 minute walk) Taxi was £8.25 each way if you didn’t want to walk. We would certainly return for a short break as it’s in such a great setting.

We checked in and went to our room it was still being cleaned. It was a bit of a communication issue between reception and chamber maids. Came back after a night in Henley and tried to make a drink... No milk. Ended up with tap water. Wasn't worth what we paid at all.

I stayed on a Sunday and checked in just before 4pm. Half an hour later I went to the bar to look at the menu, only to be told they stop serving food at 4pm on Sundays. I was told in email correspondence that this was highlighted on my booking confirmation. This is not a lot of good when you've booked a non-cancellable rate. Of course I would not have gone through with the booking had I known this. I also tried to call the business telephone number 6 times between 6.30pm and 8pm for assistance and no one answered. I appreciate this accommodation is B&B and not a hotel, but staff were about so I find this wholly unacceptable. HOWEVER. Perfectly clean and modern. The bedroom was spacious and well equipped. The shower was easily controllable, with very good pressure. The lady that checked me in and served me breakfast was very pleasant. The breakfast was lovely.

Just had a 3 night stay and it was fine. It's in a quiet location just outside Henley and there are only 8 rooms so it's very peaceful once the golfers have gone home for the day. We had an issue with our room on arrival but we were moved promptly to a better, larger room at no additional cost. The room was clean and comfortable with tea and coffee making facilities, a fridge, good storage and a clean bathroom. The only issue with our room was that as it was on the ground floor we could hear the guests above us moving around all the time. The floorboards were incredibly creaky. Breakfast was excellent. Good choice and you could tell the food was good quality and freshly prepared. The only downside to us was that the Coach bar shut at 6.00pm, despite our advance emails from the B&B advising us it would be open until 7.00pm. Whilst we weren't chucked out in the dot of 6.00pm, we couldn't get a drink after this time, or linger for the evening so it was either back to our room or head into Henley which wasn't ideal when we'd had a busy day out and about and just wanted to relax. It's a minor niggle, but I guess if we stayed here again we might do it in spring/summer when we were told the bar was open later.
