Everything was great, it's just a bit dated. If we're talking about the most beautiful Mandarin Oriental, the one in Guangzhou is still the best.

I wanted to experience this hotel one last time before their renovation, but my stay got off to a bad start right from check-in. There was no welcome drink, and even though I booked the Mandarin Club, I wasn't asked if I wanted to check in there. What really shocked me was finding an opened, half-empty bottle of water in the closet. After I complained, they responded quickly, and a staff member came to replace the water, saying they'd never encountered such an incident before. They later sent a bottle of red wine, but such a basic mistake is still unforgivable. The service at the Mandarin Hall restaurant was great, and the food quality was decent. As a loyal fan of Mandarin Oriental, my overall experience this time was just so-so.

I was lucky enough to experience the old-money and vintage ambiance of this 'fan' (Mandarin Oriental) for the first time, just before its complete renovation in June. As the flagship of the Mandarin Oriental, everything from the doorman service upon arrival to the in-room amenities immersed me in its charm. This time, I specifically booked a sea-view suite, offering views of the Ferris wheel and Victoria Harbour. However, the view wasn't as stunning as looking at Central from Tsim Sha Tsui. The public areas of this 'fan' are particularly luxurious, and the hotel is very generous with its complimentary offerings. Highly recommended!

I wanted to leave reviews during my stay, but there wasn't an option for that. I rarely write reviews, but after this stay, I felt compelled to. This was my third time in Hong Kong, and my parents' first. The transportation is incredibly convenient, whether you're heading up the mountains, exploring the sea, or just moving around the city. The facilities are high-quality and exceptionally well-maintained; it's hard to believe they're undergoing renovations in June because they seem perfect as is. Of course, I'm still looking forward to seeing the new look! I tried the newly opened breakfast restaurant in Prince's Building once, and it was very elegant. The restaurants, bakery, and bar are all worth trying. One area for improvement could be the consistency of service among different staff members; it would be great if that could be standardized.

Service was exceptional! Upon requesting an extra bed for my 6 year old, Sam the receptionist proudly responded that the bed was prepared and ready. Can’t get this level of service off the other 5 star hotels. Everything exceeded our expectations, from the shower water pressure to the comfort of the bed. We felt at home and would really love to return, just not sure if my wallet would agree.

The hotel's overall decor exudes luxury and grandeur, with a spacious and elegant lobby, and tasteful furnishings. The staff are polite and attentive, with impeccable guest etiquette, creating a truly atmospheric stay. Unfortunately, the hotel's hardware facilities show clear signs of aging. The room interiors and appliances bear the marks of time, and the bathroom fixtures feel quite dated, with noticeable wear and tear in some areas. This significantly detracts from the comfort of the stay, creating a stark contrast between its high-end positioning and the outdated facilities. The location is convenient for travel, and the service quality remains excellent. If the interior equipment were renovated and upgraded, the overall experience would be much improved.

Absolutely loved it! Every staff member went above and beyond with their service attitude. The breakfast offered a great mix of Western and Chinese options, and the bakery even had Macau's famous Lord Stow's egg tarts. The location is superb, perfect for business or a leisurely stroll through Mid-Levels and Central.

Came here for a farewell stay before renovations, and the service was, as always, excellent. My room had a slight odor, and they immediately switched it for me, apologizing profusely. The small details are consistently great. Every time I stay, I feel incredibly well taken care of. Thank you to each and every staff member. I hope you all are doing well!

The Hong Kong Mandarin Oriental is undergoing renovations in June. As this hotel is the birthplace of Mandarin Oriental, my wife and I decided to stay for four nights. I had stayed here many years ago, and while the hotel's facilities are showing their age, the room itself was well-maintained. The housekeeping and service were also good. However, a rather unpleasant incident occurred on our second morning while waiting for breakfast at the Clipper Lounge. Despite there being available tables inside, the Chinese hostess seating guests placed us at the outermost table in the restaurant corridor. When we offered to wait for a better table, she became visibly impatient and told us to step aside and wait. This clear 'regional discrimination' goes against the Mandarin Oriental's philosophy of hospitality. The restaurant manager, Kennedy, intervened and sorted out our seating. Later, the Director of F&B, Ms. Patty, also came to apologize. This is not something we expect from our beloved Mandarin Oriental. Due to its limited space, the Clipper Lounge doesn't offer a wide variety of breakfast options and might not be ideal for Chinese diners. During our breakfasts there, a young Indonesian man named Malvin always served everyone with a genuine smile. I hope the Chinese hostess at the Clipper Lounge learns from him to treat every guest sincerely! This legendary hotel will be taking a temporary break, and I hope the Hong Kong Mandarin Oriental will be reborn after its renovation! I rarely write reviews, but I felt this experience needed to be documented!

The hotel bedding was incredibly comfortable, and the complete Frette set ensured a great night's sleep. The room also had a quiet luxury vibe. They kindly upgraded me to a suite for free, and the service was attentive yet discreet, very introvert-friendly. The staff at the buffet breakfast made a minor service blunder, but it wasn't a big deal.

The Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong, nestled in the heart of Central, boasts a rich history. The service is exemplary and incredibly attentive. Rooms are elegant, and the Victoria Harbour views are simply captivating. The hotel's renowned dining experiences, such as Man Wah and Clipper Lounge, along with its top-tier spa, truly embody classic luxury and Oriental charm. A special thank you to the front desk for arranging a newly renovated sea view room 🙏🙏🙏 – my stay was absolutely superb!

Great location with lovely views and surroundings. The service was excellent and the facilities were top-notch. It's a perfect place even if you're traveling solo, and if you're lucky, you might even get a free upgrade!

Completely exceeded expectations! In a place like Central, Hong Kong, where every inch is precious, the room was surprisingly spacious, easily accommodating a king-sized bed and a single bed. The bathroom was also very roomy, and we even had a view of the Bank of China Tower! The service was also absolutely fantastic. They brought us fruit, candies, and even a little dolphin doll for the child! Loved it so much~
