"We had an amazing stay at Grand Mercure Krabi Ao Nang and honestly couldn’t fault the overall experience. From the moment we arrived, everything felt seamless. Check-in was quick and easy, and the complimentary welcome juice was a really nice touch after travelling. The room itself was spacious, spotless, and modern, with a super comfortable bed and a huge TV—perfect for relaxing in the evenings. What really stood out was the level of service. We had an issue connecting our Fire TV Stick to the WiFi, and without hesitation the hotel sent a technician along with a staff member who sorted it straight away by connecting us to the staff network. Nothing felt like too much trouble. We also mentioned we were celebrating a birthday, and the team went above and beyond by decorating the room with balloons and surprising us with a cake, along with plates and cutlery. It genuinely made the stay feel special. The facilities were great overall. There are two pools—one more aesthetic, but the main pool was a good size and had a pool bar with happy hour, which we made the most of. There’s also a separate kids’ pool and a gym on-site. Breakfast was enjoyable, with fresh, soft pastries, good coffee, a wide juice selection, and an egg station offering plenty of options (the Eggs Benedict were a highlight). While the hot selection could be slightly broader, there was still plenty to choose from. Location-wise, it’s ideal—around a 10–15 minute walk to the main beach area. It strikes a perfect balance: close enough to everything, but far enough away that you don’t hear any of the noise, making it feel peaceful and relaxing. If I had to mention any downsides, they’re very minor. The hotel is built into a hillside, so depending on your room location (we were in Block D), you may need to take multiple lifts to get there. It didn’t bother us, but it’s worth noting. Also, the hotel is fully non-smoking, including balconies, which may not suit everyone—but there are designated smoking areas available. Overall, the hotel feels luxurious, modern, and high-end—without the hefty price tag you might expect. I’d highly recommend it to couples, families, or anyone looking for a relaxing yet stylish stay in Ao Nang. We’d definitely return."

"We had a very nice stay here for a week. Nice pool, staff is very helpfull (we had some requests). Mixed audience staying at the hotel. Restaurants, gyms and small shops within 5 min walking distance. Ao Nang beach itself is quite far. Getting a grab taxi is very hard. Takes atleast 15min if your are Lucky. The hotel does provide scooters which I recommend and than it is only a 5min drive to the beach and the busy tourist area. It is axtually nice to be out of the busy zone. I do recommend rooms on the pool side. The Road side is quite noisy. Id definitely stay again."

"We arrived to our room being sweltering hot. In fact it was cooler outside than it was inside. I understand that with current fuel prices being so high, that they aren’t going to leave the air con all day anticipating our arrival. They offered us a pass to put into the slot so the air con wouldn’t turn off if we left the room, but with our room being at the top of the mountain. I did expect for them to bring it to our room rather than making us treck back down and up again. The room wasn’t clean… shower head was black with mould, when pointed out this was rectified. We upgraded to a room with a bath but couldn’t use it as it leaked and flooded the bathroom when using. We notified the hotel, they sent someone to fix it but no compensation was offered despite paying an extra 5,000 baht for this feature and only being able to use it once. Breakfast is like a horror show. I can only describe it as horrendous. My advice is save your money and don’t add breakfast to your room rate. Baked beans were cold, French toast was a thin slice of hoavis stuck to the bottom of the metal warmer. Yoghurt had flies in it - the only thing mildly edible was the egg station. Staff at breakfast was incredibly rude… we asked for some ice and lemon for our water, slices of lemon were thrown down at my husband, again notified reception and nothing was done. This is a Muslim hotel so no alcohol is served at the bar, not a big deal as they allow you to bring in drink from the 7/11 across the road but it’s not really advertised very well. Pool is lovely and the pool bar staff were nice, the rooms are good and shuttle service was ok. We only had a one issue of it taking half an hour to arrive. It is walkable if you’re fit - unfortunately I couldn’t walk up due to illness so had to wait out the 30 minutes. Location is good. Ao Nang beach is about 20/25 minute walk but there are free shuttles (one way) offered by the hotel when they feel like it, but Grab Taxi’s are cheap and easy to get. Ao Nang night market is brilliant and about a 15 minute taxi ride away. Would say it isn’t really worth the money is and more like a 3 star. It could be such a great hotel with improvements. A bit disappointed with it considering it was part of our honeymoon trip and feel we were let down."

"The location of the hotel itself was right in the best place if you like the Ao nang beach and the RCA street. Everything is in a walkable distance, mcdonalds, 7-eleven, ao nang beach, and the bars. I was traveling with my 5yo and we were given a room right on the street, which made it impossible to sleep at night till 2am. Told the reception about it they said sorry we will give you free canopy , next day we tried to get the canopy on the pool, but no one gave it to us…. Apart from that, the rooftop infinity pool is very good at sunset, also the breakfast buffet was very good !"

"The hotel location was peaceful, they have best Italian restaurant and it’s a must try for pizza. However they don’t have lift and our room was on top floor. They only provide water once a day rest is chargeable which was disappointing. They upgraded our room as the room we booked was sold out. We had a bathtub in a balcony with over looking mountains. Overall the interiors were a bit in need of renovation. Staff was helpful throughout. Do not book breakfast with them as don’t have much options, rather you can go to some other places around."

"The facility was great and it was beautiful and it did offer a number of amenities but I will be honest the service wasn’t the greatest. I felt as if as a paying customer I was constantly being treated like I was a burden for asking for things like “extending my say” I don’t want to generalize and say it was all the workers there was a man named “Chan” who had a very passive aggressive attitude with me and other people there. I understand that it’s a 5 star resort and it is on the pricier side but it constantly felt like they were also trying to capitalize on the necessities you’ll need because it is on an isolated island. (Word of advice go to the local village for things like pharmacy needs, cosmetic and booking boats and excursions it’s 10 times cheaper.) At the resort they will do things like charge nearly 30$ for a bottle of sunscreen at the gift shop because they know you’ll need it. Going back to this I tried to extend my stay with them and Chan told me I was going to have to pay double the original price if I wanted to stay another night I quickly went online and saw that it was half the price that he quoted and just immediately felt quite put off and like he was doing whatever possible to milk us financially when we are already being generous and willing customers. I was in a group of four people and everyone in my group had stomach issues after eating at the breakfast buffet so that was a problem as well. We were also not told that on the resort is a mosque and you will be woken up to the call of prayer frequently. I have no problem with people exercising there religious traditions I would just like a forewarning about being woken at 5AM to hear the it."

"We booked pool Access room it was amazing services really nice good food and amazing club experience we had. Only kids club everything with charge fee if you don’t pay money kids a lone inside just play herself we didn’t see any free activity just this is not good but they really friendly and polite we satisfied and we were happy with the hotel amenities. We can stay also next time when we come back to Krabi.also they helped us for late check out they are really friendly"

"Absolutely fantastic journey, I love this island with beautiful coastline and little mountains that you can do a bit hikes. And the hotel is right located on the north of the phiphi island. I wish I can spend more time here, with my family. But I would say it’s the best place for couples too, you can swim and dance, enjoy the fire show or simply just this nature island."
