Earlier this month, we enjoyed a four-night stay at the Marriott Melrose Arch. The check-in staff were exceptionally cheerful and helpful, providing a warm and welcoming start to our stay. The property was relatively new, the rooms really spacious with very comfortable beds, high-quality linen and all the necessary amenities needed for our stay. The bathroom was large, clean, and had good towels. The in-house restaurant offered a varied menu and breakfast was delightful. The service staff, along with Chef Escobar, were outstanding, ensuring our comfort and satisfaction. Chef Escobar even assisted with menu choices and followed up to ensure we were pleased with our meals. The hotel's location was ideal, situated in a self-contained gated community in Johannesburg, providing an extremely safe environment. We felt really safe walking around late every night, exploring the numerous bars and restaurants in Melrose Arch. Additionally, there is a shopping ***** and mall just five minutes from the hotel, which hosts a weekend market. The hotel also offers a private car service for trips to Rosebank or other areas, albeit at a higher cost than Uber. However, it is a secure option for those needing transportation. Overall, our experience at the Marriott Melrose Arch was excellent and we highly recommend it for its superb service, comfortable accommodation and prime location.

Great, relative new property in the well secured and protected area of Mellrose Arch. What really makes the difference also here is the staffmembers, how friendly and well trained they are. Great value for money btw. Great facilities in terms of food & drinks also, highly recommend to make this your hotel destination in the J-Burg area

We only stayed one night at the Marriott Hotel, but we felt at home, assisted in our every need by the extremely courteous staff. The buffet breakfast was plentiful and tasty and the hotel is located in a very convenient area for visiting the city, as well as being in a neighborhood equipped with every service. Very recommended, we will be back soon!

Wonderful hotel and staff, and a perfect stay at this impressive, well-operated, beautiful modern property. The property is extremely elegant and feels newly built, and the customer service at this property was top notch, making an already great stay that much better! At check-in and check-out and all throughout the stay, Atlehang, Tyra, and Tumi made me feel extremely welcome and were really high-speed in answering any questions I had and resolving any concerns - a really sharp and talented reception/guest relations team! Lerato from the 3rd floor housekeeping was absolutely tremendous in assisting me during the entire stay, as were Thembe and James from facilities/engineering when a minor issue arose in the room, as well as eggmaster Oarabile at breakfast who was fantastic as well. Thank you Johannesburg Marriott team for a wonderful stay - this Titanium Elite is beyond satisfied!

Amazing Service and Property. Due to my Bonvoy Status we were upgraded to a 1 Bedroom Suite which fantastic views over the city. Breakfast was superb and we made use of the lounge. Highly recommended property and conveniently located in Melrose Arch which is a safe suburb in Johannesburg.

One of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at in terms of service! Everyone was very kind and welcoming to me. Anything that I requested was granted before I could say thank you. The food at the restaurant was also excellent. Mr. Sibusiso Zulu and Mr. Makecli were exceptional!

Warm welcome accommodated our request for early check in allocated a lovely 2 double bedded room ( no view). Overall, service was excellent. Every request was responded to quickly and the breakfast in the morning was delicious. The staff are warm, friendly and polite . PORTER even helped fix my suitcase which was broken on the long flight to South Africa . Overall, this hotel exceeded expectations and would definitely recommend for the high-quality and very pleasant location.

This is turning into our favourite hotel in Africa! We can’t fault on any level. Heinrich, Grant and the entire team take hospitality to the next level. We have stayed here numerous over the past few years as our base when exploring Africa and each time we just love it more and more. The service is exemplary especially the guys in the lounge, on reception and at breakfast with nothing being too much trouble. Rooms are always pristine and welcoming. Breakfast is one of the best we have experienced in terms of variety and amount. There really is nothing to fault at any level. We can’t wait to be back.

Even before we arrived, we knew this was going to be an exceptional stay, as we corresponded with Grant M, Guest Relations Manager, and he graciously ensured that we were well looked after. As a Marriott Gold member, we were upgraded to a gorgeous and spacious suite, and given M Club access. Throughout our stay, we felt the warm and gracious hospitality of literally every single member of the staff! They took such great care of us. The hotel is in a great location, modern, very well appointed, has an exceptional M Club, and arguably the nicest staff of any hotel we've every stayed in. We truly enjoyed our stay, and can't wait to return!

While the Johannesburg Marriott boasts a prime location and stylish amenities, my recent experience was severely tarnished by their subpar customer service and blatant disregard for guest satisfaction. Upon check-out, I discovered that my bill was higher than the agreed-upon rate. I waited at the front desk for them to fix it before paying. However, upon returning home I discovered they charged me the incorrect, higher rate. Despite acknowledging their mistake, the hotel made no effort to rectify the situation promptly. Instead, I was subjected to a series of frustrating hurdles, including filling out numerous forms, providing copies of my booking confirmation, and enduring endless phone calls with unhelpful customer service representatives. Days turned into weeks and now months, and still, I had not received a refund for the overcharge. Each time I followed up, I was met with another hoop and further delays. Requests to have the issue escalated to the manager were ignored. While the hotel itself may offer a comfortable stay, the abysmal customer service and lack of accountability overshadowed any positive aspects. I have stayed at 100s of Marriotts around the world and this is the only Marriott where I have encountered any kind of problem – and then no responsibility to correct their own error. I strongly advise potential guests to exercise caution when booking with the Johannesburg Marriott. Be prepared for potential billing discrepancies and a frustrating battle to resolve any issues that may arise. There are many other hotels in Johannesburg that offer comparable amenities and far superior customer service.
