Wonderful check in and hotel bar. The pool and spa were great. My room was upgraded and very spacious. Room service food was bland. Great location; recommend walking to Grill House for dinner. Make a reservation. Check in staff were very nice. The restaurant bar tender made recommendations for us and always served us another round without having to ask. Staff were excellent.

I stayed here and for the most part my experience was great. Clean rooms, good food and efficient staff. The ladies in the travel desk helped arrange our tour to Soweto and airport pickups with ease. Junior in the club was attentive , friendly and very welcoming! Unfortunately , I had an odd interaction with a staff member. My first morning I went down to breakfast alone to meet up with the rest of my family and gave the woman at the host desk my room number. another female staff member whom I had never interacted with approached the desk and asked me if I had a tattoo on my back. I was extremely confused and she continued to ask me If I had any tattoos... Even just 1. She was adamant in knowing. She spoke to her coworker in their local language and the coworker did seem annoyed that she was asking me this. When I joined my family I told them about it and even said it felt like it was co- word for something. If you’re not aware, there is an epidemic of human trafficking around the country and that solo young women without tattoos are prime targets since they are less likely to be identified and specifically sought after. Apparently high end places are not immune to this. I am a woman in my twenties who initially appeared to be traveling alone and was randomly questioned if I had any tattoos. I’m not accusing anyone of anything but I think it’s cause for concern and very unsettling. Please vet employees throughly and ensure that guests are safe. Sometimes things are hidden in plain site. It’s a shame because besides that it’s a great hotel but unfortunately I probably won’t return.

From the moment Mduduzi (who tour guided us both way and was amazing) picked us up from the airport to the moment he dropped us back off, our stay at Melrose Arch was absolutely INCREDIBLE. I travel A LOT all over the world in all types of accommodations from hostels to luxury hotels and I have never in my life had the level of customer service and genuine fun as I had from this staff. We made some of the fastest friends who made us feel like family for every second of our stay. Jean, Nakendi, Sweetness, Duma, and Lethabo were the absolute highlights of our stay. My face still hurts from smiling and laughing with them! I am truly going to miss every one of them! We usually wander out and about a lot more but aside from our tour with Happy who was also incredible, we didn’t want to leave the hotel because we were having so much fun with them. Every single one of the staff members were so helpful and kind and JOYFUL…I will have to come back to just hang out with my friends more :). In addition to the staff the hotel its self is gorgeous and the rooms are insanely comfortable. If I had enough money or points to move in, I would haha. Also, the food in the lounge was UNBELIEVABLY good!! We literally did not buy food or eat anywhere else for our entire stay, I could not get over it being complimentary for the gourmet quality it is! The customer appreciation wine tasting was also SO much fun! Please give all of them a big Christmas bonus and giant raises because they deserve the entire world! Thank you for everything and I can’t wait to come back!

Excellent Hotel in Melrose Arch a gated secure and safe dining and shopping area. We stayed here for 4 nights at the end of of South African holiday as we were flying home from Joburg . Hotel has lovely pool area with plenty of sun beds and umbrellas although the poolside drinks and food choice was very limited with no cocktails which was a shame . The breakfast was okay but not a patch on the Bangkok Marriotts breakfast buffet . We stayed in a pool view room on the 1st floor which was lovely and quiet , Rooms are modern, comfortable and very clean . The archers bar at the hotel is very good and the food there was excellent also . Highly recommend staying here .

This hotel is situated in the Melrose Arch, with clean functional rooms with plenty of power outlets of various plug types, good selection of restaurants, and good conference facilities. As the establishment is within secured Melrose Arch area, you can walk within the secured area to visit many shops, cafes and restaurants and enjoy outside seatings as well. Highly recommended for business stay as well as for leisure.

Excellent location close to shops & restaurants. Safe to walk about in Melrose Arch at night and busy with lots of people out and about. Hotel offers excellent service, good food and is very well maintained. Rooms are spacious, great pool & gym. Highly recommend this hotel.

The Melrose Arch area is walled, and is very safe to walk around. Lots of restaurants and a mall nearby with a few stores. The hotel itself is clean, well appointed and has excellent staff. Rooms are comfortable - although the AC's in the room dont go below 22C. I reported it, and was told maintenance would check but no change. if you like your room colder, you're out of luck. The showers dont have a door, so water seeps to the rest of the washroom unless you use the floor towel to stem the flow. Rooms are reasonably quiet but not soundproof. Breakfast is reasonably well organised with good variety. Not everything is labelled so ask. The eggs order can take a while so order early. Club M is excellent. The gym is small and limited for a hotel of this size. Curiously, there are 3 lat pull machines and 1 cable based one where you have to constantly change height and equipment to do various exercises. Internet is fast.

Earlier this month, we enjoyed a four-night stay at the Marriott Melrose Arch. The check-in staff were exceptionally cheerful and helpful, providing a warm and welcoming start to our stay. The property was relatively new, the rooms really spacious with very comfortable beds, high-quality linen and all the necessary amenities needed for our stay. The bathroom was large, clean, and had good towels. The in-house restaurant offered a varied menu and breakfast was delightful. The service staff, along with Chef Escobar, were outstanding, ensuring our comfort and satisfaction. Chef Escobar even assisted with menu choices and followed up to ensure we were pleased with our meals. The hotel's location was ideal, situated in a self-contained gated community in Johannesburg, providing an extremely safe environment. We felt really safe walking around late every night, exploring the numerous bars and restaurants in Melrose Arch. Additionally, there is a shopping ***** and mall just five minutes from the hotel, which hosts a weekend market. The hotel also offers a private car service for trips to Rosebank or other areas, albeit at a higher cost than Uber. However, it is a secure option for those needing transportation. Overall, our experience at the Marriott Melrose Arch was excellent and we highly recommend it for its superb service, comfortable accommodation and prime location.
